The Science Is Settled!

Having a married mom and dad is better for children, according to a Canadian study that, among other things, finds “daughters of gay parents displaying dramatically low graduation rates.” Fortunately, despite all the noise about gay marriage, most gay people have zero interest in raising children and, because gay sex obviously doesn’t produce offspring, very few gay people ever procreate.

These are just facts, people.

Jeff Goldstein notices that facts are unfashionable nowadays:

Rejection of common sense biological and evolutionary observations are much in vogue among the social engineers and their activist counterparts. But it bears repeating — yet again — that wishing something were so, because in your mind a just world would make it so, does not, in fact, replace what is. And yet it is we who are labeled anti-science — albeit by those whose idea of science is the politicized kind that can be “settled” and based around contemporary consensus when empirical data doesn’t fall their way.

We are descending into a new Dark Ages of mystic belief, where socialized medicine is fiscally responsible, where illegal immigrants have more rights than do American citizens, where sodomy is normal and people who don’t regularly engage in sodomy are considered weird.

    My knowledge of science may be very limited, but I do know how babies are made.

  12. How long before the Gay Nazi Trolls are all over this story and the H8?

    I’m older than Stacy (I know, I know) and I’ve seen this same thing over and over.

    Study shows that a stable household is better to raise kids in. Then the Libs get ahold of it and suddenly the scientist who wrote the paper turns out to be a reincarnation of Ghenghis Kahn (without the Horses) and worthy of instant death. Paper is then blacklisted and never mentioned again.

    Until the next time someone decides to explore this topic because they can’t discover any studies having been done on it because the Universities have Memory holed the ones that have been done because H8.

    The more things change the more things stay the same.

  13. I’ve long believed that there really are no (or few) strictly homosexuals.

    What is apparent is that most are bi-sexual and may have a preference but not a restriction.

    I mean they do claim it’s genetic right? So how do those genes get passed on?

  14. Not to be all nit-picky, but while gay couples can’t procreate, plenty of gay women (who may or may not be part of a couple) procreate. Especially during the holiday season, what with the turkey baster already being out and all.

    Gay men procreate (with women) too – either indirectly by supplying “the drippin’s” for the aforementioned chef’s accessories, or the old-fashioned way. They don’t have to be sexually attracted to women to do the deed. See most hetero porn for examples.

  15. Ironically, the Public Discourse article that the linked article is quoting was written by the much maligned Mark Regnerus. Mark’s original study on gay parenting was roundly attacked by the left, despite being one of the most competent studies to date. Mark’s problem, through no fault of his own, is that there is simply not a large enough sample size, or a long enough period under study to produce a definitive result.

    Thank God we finally have some decent data from that failed experiment in debauched liberalism up north.

  18. Gay couples may not procreate, but, since we’ve turned sperm, eggs and wombs into commercial endeavors, gay people certainly do.

  20. Gay men and women are still capable of engaging in heterosexual sex, and many have in the past.

    Additionally, I’m not convinced that homosexuality isn’t a byproduct of some genetic trait that has other benefits that help encourage the propagation of genetic material.

  22. It’s not only that, but having a married mom and dad who do not normalize adultery, promiscuity, porn, AND homosexuality is much, much better for kids and for having a sane world.

    A lot of bisexuals (who are just pigs when it comes to “marriage” and sex) are married and have children.

It is not lost upon those of us having a passing acquaintance with history, that modern “science” has regressed to the point where those individuals who publish research contrary to the received wisdom of the worthies in charge are treated similarly to Galileo. The fact that such researchers are banished to professional oblivion is one thing. The conspiracy to hide Truth from the public is quite another. As Jeff said, it’s not science; it’s magic.

  34. Are you being deliberately obtuse? Indeed, gay couples can’t create children as a couple. On the other hand, gay individuals (who may or may not be part of a gay couple) can and do procreate.

    Not sure why you’re insistent on conflating the “gay people” of RSM’s post with “gay couples”, but hey, whatever.
