Nov. 13: ObamaCare Failure Day

Historians should mark this day on their calendars as the point at which the failure became obviously irretrievable.

Troubled HealthCare.gov unlikely

Obamacare is in much more trouble
than it was one week ago

Ezra Klein

Kathleen Sebelius had a conference call today to announce how many people had signed up for ObamaCare — about 100,000 so far, of whom about a quarter enrolled through the glitchy website:

Some 106,185 people signed up for Obamacare in its first month of operation, a period marred by major technological problems with both the federal and state enrollment websites.
Fewer than 27,000 Americans selected an insurance plan through the federal healthcare.gov site, which is handling enrollment for 36 states, according to figures released Wednesday by the Obama administration. . . .
Nearly 79,400 people signed up for coverage through state-based exchanges, with California leading the way with nearly 35,400 selecting a plan. States have also been battling system errors, with Oregon having yet to accept online applications.
These figures reflect people who have selected insurance plans through the exchanges, but not necessarily paid for them. Americans have until Dec. 15 to pay if they want coverage to begin on Jan. 1. Open enrollment lasts through March 31.

“HealthCare.gov has been a complete disaster for the administration. It’s clear that they’ve been low-balling what to expect, and I’m not quite sure they low-balled it enough.”
Gloria Borger, CNN

The sign-up numbers are just a tiny fraction of the millions who have lost health insurance because of ObamaCare-caused cancellations.

For crying out loud, people: This. Is. What. You. Voted. For. You wanted a big, fat, expensive, diabolical lie, AND YOU GOT IT!

Don’t bore me with questions like Where Did The Pleasant Cthulhu Go?. It’s down the maw with you, your economy, and your little dog, too.

I’ve said all along that Obaminablecare was never intended to work; it was just intended to pass, to establish the principle that the feral government is ultimately responsible for your health care coverage. Then, once it fails, the Democrats throw up their hands, and say, “See, we tried it the conservative way, and it didn’t work, so single-payer is all that’s left.” The concept that the government is not responsible for your health care coverage will be off the table.

I just didn’t expect it to fail as quickly as it seems to be doing.

I don’t disagree with you, but the fact that it has failed so quickly and the failure is so multifaceted, is truly astounding. Normally, the folly of progressive programs takes years for people to see clearly. Think the NHS in the UK. When eyes are finally open, it’s too late to change anything. This was to be the signature achievement proving how smart the left was. Everyone is watching, and that sucker blew up on the launching pad.

The progs may try to use this as a gateway to single-payer, but the question is whether the public is going to believe them after witnessing the lies and the logistical chaos involved. Even the most ardent left-wing supporter would have second thoughts about turning his own health care decisions over to these fools.

The key is that the failure isn’t some macro thing. You don’t need statistics to see what a terrible thing it is. It hits people where they can’t ignore it, and it’s obvious what the cause was, though it was delayed from the initial passage.

I’m afraid the left wing public will believe anything. The 2010 failure to unseat Harry Reid was the writing on the wall. The 2012 election confirmed (for me) that God has withdrawn His Grace from this sinful nation with finality. Dems will win in ’16 on the promise to fix healthcare, waivers will be granted for the unions, the economy will slow even more, the currency will collapse, there will be race war, food riots, power outages, little clean water, plague, starvation, foreign soldiers on our shores, and it will be very, very bad. My plan is to try to be among the first killed defending white enclaves in the Northeast (either that or try to stow away on the death star.)

God has withdrawn His Grace from this sinful nation with finality.

From a theological perspective, God’s Grace is a) limitless, given what He has to work with, i.e. humans and b)available to all who repent and ask. I think He withdraws his favor and blessings from nations whose institutions and populace generally have forsaken Him, but even that can be restored if there is national repentance. See, e.g. Israel during the period of the Judges and Jonah’s Nineveh. Unfortunately, that usually comes after a period of extreme misfortune. We can only pray that our nation comes to its senses soon.

  44. Quartermaster
    November 13th, 2013 @ 10:29 pm

God’s grace is not limitless. He draws lines we are not to cross, and humans, throughout history, keep crossing them and get the same results. Judgement comes eventually and any country that does what the US is doing is begging for it.

The only thing that has stood between judgment and the US is support of Israel because of God’s promise to Abraham. That support has ended as well with this maladminstration betraying Israel repeatedly. We are at Romans 1:18-32.
