The Tea Party is Over: @Allahpundit and Mitch McConnell Declare Victory

It’s “Spring Time for Mitch” over there at RINOville:

Politico has a pre-election postmortem on how McConnell beat back the tea party, although most of it will be familiar to you if you’ve been following the race even casually. . . .
Between McConnell’s easy ride to victory and Lindsey Graham’s trouble-free reelection campaign in South Carolina thus far, it’s worth asking just how vulnerable GOP incumbents are to tea-party primary challenges anymore. Philip Klein surveys the landscape and says, “Not very.”

So, all conservative grassroots enthusiasm is over, and there is now zero hope that the GOP can ever be more than Democrat Lite. And what are the chances that in November, people will stampede to the polls to vote for the Boring Old White Guy Party?

There is a lesson here but with all due respect, not the one you are implying. The lesson is that the GOPe is the enemy of Constitutional conservatives who form the party’s base. They have loudly proclaimed this.

McConnell and his thugs at the NRSC committee have done more to damage, undermine, and smear the base than Obama has ever dreamed of. Obama doesn’t have to spend a dime to keep great candidates like Bevin out of the Senate because McConnell and his comrades will do that work for him.

As long as McConnell acts in the role of one of Obama’s field generals, he is not one of us, he is one of them. As such, whatever we can do to destroy him should be done and soon.
