Caitlin Stasey (@caitlinstasey) is a 24-year-old Australian actress who became a child star at age 12 in a series called The Sleepover Club. Her smiling face, however, concealed a world of inner emotional turmoil. Growing up in a sex-obsessed society seems to be a profoundly frightening experience for many girls nowadays. The decline of marriage and the destruction of moral norms are part of a cultural syndrome that produces what I have called “a sort of social epidemic of bipolar hysteria, in which minds unmoored from cultural tradition constantly shift between utter confusion and radical certainty.”
Both confusion and certainty are evident in the account Ms. Stasey shares with readers at her new feminist site Herself.com:
I had an oddly dichotomous upbringing, my father an atheist, my mother agnostic & my education Catholic. I was sent to a Catholic school primarily because of class sizes. . . . After entering high school (also Catholic) I abandoned the notion of God in the Christian sense; I couldn’t reconcile the church’s stance on sexuality with my own views. I became incredibly hateful of religion & am now resolute that it is one of the greatest tragedies to befall mankind. . . .
My parents were incredibly thoughtful, attentive & loving but there was certainly no love lost between them. It felt as though every moment of peace was heavy with the anticipation of another fight between them. . . . [G]rowing up around that much resentment was incredibly stressful. I think I may be one of few children to feel relief upon hearing my parents were divorcing. My exact words, according to my mother, were “Good.” . . .
Puberty was devastating for me. I suddenly had stretch marks all over my body, cellulite, hair, lumps, acne. . . . I was embarrassed by the changes I was going through and I had no real outlet for my confusion but, more than anything, I was embarrassed by my interest in sex, one that was present in me LONG before puberty. . . .
I would have vivid dreams about other women. Every night I’d drift off into this utopia of women being available to me & knowing nothing other than my desire for them. There was no one in my life who also expressed these desires, no one in the entertainment I consumed, the books I would read, the company I kept. A lack of monumental events shaped my sexuality, masturbating in secret, telling no one, saying nothing, concealing all sexual queries or thoughts. . . .
I’ve known I was mostly gay ever since I can remember. I know it troubles many people for me to refer to myself as a lesbian considering I have a male partner. . . .
FULL STOP. Ms. Stasey is currently in a relationship with actor Lucas Neff, 29, recently notorious for his hatred of Republicans:
‘Guns kill people. Men murder women.’
Actor Lucas Neff’s anti-gun rant goes ‘beta’
‘Anti-choice’ ‘scumbag women’: Actor Lucas Neff
says more female GOPers don’t make party less sexist
So girls who grow up masturbating to lesbian fantasies are into guys like Lucas Neff. Go figure. Back to Ms. Stasey’s account:
My vagina has been an unending and constant source of turmoil for me — not that vaginas are intrinsically female, it’s just happened to be a big part of womanhood for me personally — [urinary tract infections], PH imbalances, sexual dysfunction, pain, discomfort. Sexual education is no way near comprehensive enough as all of these things I’ve had to learn myself, treat myself & diagnose myself. I’m still struggling to gain control over my body, over my vagina. . . .
Growing up in dueling worlds — Catholic & secular — my relationship to my sexuality was constantly in flux. I tried not to think about it unless I needed to masturbate. Instead of it being a part of me it felt like a weird compulsion I had to take care of every now and then and then try to forget about. I used to pray every time I touched myself and I would cry myself to sleep, fearful of the wrath of God, guilty for my sins etc. etc. . . .
FULL STOP. Notice that in the conflict between her “dueling worlds,” Ms. Stasey is certain that it’s the “wrath of God” part that’s wrong, rather than her own perverse compulsions. Because I’m not Catholic, I have no idea what Ms. Stasey was taught in her schools. Growing up Baptist, I learned that humans are naturally sinful and can only be saved through grace. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:23-24). Furthermore, “we know that all things work together for good to them that love God” (Romans 8:28). Knowing this, through all my backsliding and wickedness and troubles, I never lost faith nor doubted the righteousness of God.
Excuse me for preaching, but some people can’t seem to get their minds around this concept of total human depravity and salvation by grace. Dude, back in the day I dealt dope in felony weight. I worked as a strip club DJ. I’ve seen total human depravity face-to-face, and have survived to tell you Jonathan Edwards was right: We are sinners in the hands of an angry God, deserving nothing but destruction, with no hope at all but grace. We can never deserve salvation by our own merit (“filthy rags” Isaiah 64:6) and thus can have no pride or self-righteousness. Yet despite our utter wretchedness, we are called to the service of the Lord of Heaven and Earth. “If God be for us, who can be against us?”
Well, Caitlin Stasey is certainly against us:
What is your political stance on women’s reproductive rights?
No one anywhere ever should EVER be able to tell a woman what is right for her body regarding her reproductive rights. If you’re pro life/anti contraceptive, swell, just keep it to your f–king self & practice it, don’t enforce it on others.
Are you pro life or pro choice?
Super duper pro pro pro SUPER PRO choice. I volunteer at a clinic that performs clinical abortions & escort patients to the waiting room from their cars, just to help them avoid harassment & so that they can see that they are supported.
What are your feelings about contraceptives? Their availability, cost, stigma, usage?
Contraceptives should be free, they should come in a wide variety pertaining to the needs of the individual & should be available on every f–king street corner.
What are your feelings on casual sex?
As long as it’s consensual, casual sex is an incredible tool to empower yourself with, help you learn your own body & its needs. Just BE SAFE.
Are you in a relationship(s)?
I am in a somewhat open relationship with the love of my life. We are not polyamorous but do not limit ourselves physically.
What are your feelings on marriage?
As an archaic institution it’s just awful, as a modern culture it’s even worse. The wedding industry is exploitative & gendered & drives the women who feel compelled to participate to madness. However, I’m an advocate of empowering women to do what THEY want & as long as they’re getting married because they TRULY believe it’s what THEY want & not what is expected OF them, then go for it. . . .
What are your feelings on monogamy?
It’s so pointless, painful & archaic. If it works for you and you genuinely find true contentment within monogamy then by all means endure it, but the fact that it’s the status quo is truly discriminative.
You can read the whole thing, which is illustrated with naked photos of Caitlyn Stasey, but I’m sure no Christian would be tempted to sinful lust for her after reading the hideous madness that pours forth from her disordered mind full of “vile affections” (Romans 1:26).
In my studies of radical feminism for the “Sex Trouble” series, I’ve noticed that this combination of personal confusion and political certainty is so common as to be typical. Kate Millett, Andrea Dworkin, Joyce Trebilcot, Laurie Penny — these are all “broken people,” as Professor Reynolds said, sharing the radical conviction that those of us who are normal, sane and happy are the real problem in the world.

[…] Sexual Disorientation. […]
Have we finally reached the point where everyone has the right to define reality to suit their private neuroses? I have to deal with a woman at work who insists she is male and coworkers are pressured to call her “him”. I decided I was a bear last Monday and I intend to insist that everyone call me Smokey. If they roll their eyes at me, I’m going to Human Resources and I’m going to file a discrimination lawsuit. Grrrrr….
No disagreement from me.
I decided I was a bear last Monday and I intend to insist that everyone call me Smokey.
These weirdos want us all to play the game of What Kind of Rainbow Unicorn Are You?
she condemns this thing called “patriarchy”, but can’t even stand up for her so called convictions
Just so.
Ha ha. Exactly.
Radical gender feminism is revealing itself more and more as a one size fits all ideology for women with mental health issues. Crazy people have been declaring they’re oppressed by mysterious forces for as long as there have been civilizations. There was no ideology in place that declared the “normative” – being normal and sane – an oppression. Now there is. And we have to listen to people who listen to voices inside their heads.
This why there is no such things as fat, stupid, crazy and failed women – literally – within this ideology. It is purpose-built for fat, stupid, crazy and failed women.
And so what is the new Jim Crow within this ideology? My sanity, my normality. Sanity, able-bodied, tall, slim: these are “oppressions.”
Stacy, I am sorry to write this here, as it has really nothing to do with the subject matter, but I did not know how else to contact you.
I wanted to draw your attention to the February 13 issue of Entertainment Weekly (It has a Walking Dead cover with Norman Reedus). In it is what looks for all the world like a feminist take on 50 Shades of Grey, written by Leslie Bennetts. I could not finish the article, mainly because the point of it seemed to be a tirade on female sexuality.
I would like for you to pick up the issue and perhaps give your thoughts on the article. Thanks for your time.
Self-loathing would demonstrate good sense.
These folks “reality” reads like a comic book? Anyone remember Bizarro World?
I think these people are carefully taught not to think
Her system of belief is essentially Patriarchy Theory taken to its logical conclusions. She seems quite rational (in a twisted way), and anyway plenty of highly rational people have outright killed themselves.
Furthermore, if I understand correctly, brain imaging has suggested to neuroscientists that we appear to verbalize the reasons after coming to the conclusion; our decision-making is pre-verbal. (That actually makes some sense; computers are the same way, since human language is inefficient.)
What that implies is that we might not understand our own reasons for doing things. We might even believe the reasons that we give, and still be wrong about why we do what we do.
The brain is essentially a rationalization engine, and I think that she has constructed an elaborate rationalization for a feeling that came first. Or feelings — the combo of self-loathing and pride would be difficult to explain.
I used to think that reading romances (though they were relatively innocent… a kiss at the end and then marriage, etc.,) wasn’t the healthiest thing I could have done as a 13 year old and teenager. The relationships aren’t particularly realistic. But I’m starting to think now that they weren’t a bad thing at all. I never saw sexual desire as something to be feared… it was all, whoo hoo, can’t wait… even while I planned to and *did* wait… but it was “I want that” and I want to love someone and I want to be a couple and have a happily ever after. Sure, I came from a stable two parent home, I went to church, many of my friends had the same values even if not all of them did. In any case, all the misery of puberty seemed to have a purpose and something to look forward to. So now I’m starting to think that those romances weren’t a bad thing after all. (Even if they’re getting sort of explicit these days. There are “christian” or “sweet” romance lines that are booming in popularity.) At least a nice romance models something positive.
Mine did it. No biggie. It was a Baptist school and I had Jewish classmates, along with many Middle Eastern kids as well.
It all has to do with the quality of the education compared to public school.
“Women are more empathetic, honest and tactile….”
I AM a woman and can tell you that’s a bunch of bullshit.
She reminds me of Ashley Judd, using $10 words she doesn’t understand.
The Catholic position is also that all humans have sinned and get salvation trough grace. It differs from the Protestant in how the grace is transmitted.
Moaning about “The Wrath of God” is as much of a cliche as nuns with rulers; it might have accurately described what my father got taught in the 60’s, but not what I got in the 90’s, and not today. Catholic schools are all about service and solidarity. Unless a particular teacher went all fire-and-brimstone on her, all this horror was likely in her head.
Then again, we are taking about Australia.
Is she old enough to go to the pub?
“There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate The Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.”

You may wish to rethink your devious plot here, Arkady… A “bear” is actually a thing in the homosexual subculture:

That combined with the left’s anti-intellectualism, hyper-emotionalism, and pathological narcissism makes debating issues with them almost impossible.
St. Thomas Aquinas, Sum II-II Q 15, A 1, co.
There’s nothing new under the sun. By interesting coincidence, Dr. Edward Feser posted an article today about this very subject. What’s the Deal With Sex pt II.
That wasn’t him. He was quoting Caitlin and being sarcastic about it.
I’m a cobalt-blue dragon (when not in my human form), and also Earth’s avatar of the demigod/star Betelgeuse. You may refer to me as “Your Majesty.”
I believe that it may have been an obscure joke, based on a combination of gaming culture and English grammar, poking fun at the concept of cis-hetero privilege.
It was indeed satire.
shitlord
Amongst other things, an expression used by feminists to mock anyone who doesn’t agree with their opinions.
Thanks for the info. I was unaware that it was a term used by feminists. I’m also unsurprised.
Be encouraged! I believe that it will not come to that. I cannot guarantee the question, because it is a matter of will.
Aw jeez…..
So girls who grow up masturbating to lesbian fantasies are into guys like Lucas Neff. Go figure
She’s balancing out Meredith Baxter by reversing sequence.
I am not inviting Biden…he drinks all the beer and double dips the chips.
You should go whole-hog. Tell everyone you’ve decided to be Farrah Fawcett during one of her lucid intervals.
They have wrongly taken the proper term for Ursine-Americans!
Let’s reiterate that gender abolitionist intersectional feminism is nothing more than a hate group under any definition I’ve ever heard. My own readings show such people negatively portray men, heterosexuals and whites about 100% of the time. In other words about the same odds Jews and blacks have with neo-Nazis and the KKK.
But there’s something else going on here, and it’s not just the naivete of social justice warriors. There is an in-between the SJWs and racial and sexual bigots, and this woman pretty much sums up what that might be. Gender intersectionalism is also a safe-space for people who are simply troubled and rebellious. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use hate speech when you don’t mean to. In fact, that’s the big problem: the mainstreaming of hate speech as something necessary and even noble.
From the outside, it all looks the same, the naive, the troubled and the hateful. It amounts to one thing and it has to go. It has no place in the public arena of any civilized nation.
Hey, it’s my fantasy world. If I want to be a big fuckin’ bad-ass bear, I can be be a big fuckin’ bad-ass bear. But you can be Farrah if you want.
Good point.
While I realize the only thing besides faith that may re-orient this woman toward reality is having a family, I sincerely hope she never has children. Ever.
Why does this blog exist, exactly? The purpose seems to be to present “christians” with a ready source of sexually lewd content which they may browse and discuss, not that they are into this stuff mind you, it’s just “curiosity”. Like when childrens activists get caught with child porn on their computers, they weren’t looking at it, oh no, it was for research purposes. It’s a strange community that is drawn to sexually deviant stories for the express purpose of discussing the details between each other.
I can imagine these guys around a table playing poker, discussing some article about gays they read in Mens magazine. “Oh and did you SEE his disgusting gay penis, it looked so thick and throbbing, can you imagine having to handle its meaty girth? Gay’s are so filthy, so dirty, it’s like they just desire sex and sex and more sex, and that would be so naughty, right guys?
That’s really your take away from this? If so, you’re a real bozo.
This ex-Catholic is a deist.
Did I disparage NASCAR or something?
Well I read most of the right leaning big blogs, but this is the only one where I KNOW there will be sexually lewd articles, especially involving gays or lesbians, on the front page on any given day. RSM doesn’t even pretend to be a news blog out of election cycles, it’s mostly just click bait involving unusual sexual practices that seem to attract all kinds of tut-tutting about how sinful and degraded it is… and yet these “christians” keep on clicking over day after day to read about whatever filth RSM has located next.
It strikes me as being a culturally acceptable form among certain christians of written pornography. If you bought a magazine entitled “weird sexual practices” your neighbors would shun you. But when you read exactly the same material here, somehow it’s entirely different, it’s “research” or understanding the enemy or whatever.
But really, it’s just voyeuristic sexual material that doubtless acts as a turn on for many of the readers here. RSM is a smart man, if providing smut under the guise of some kind of christian awareness is what people will click for any pay money for, then that’s what he’s going to provide.
He’s selling a product and you’re all the customers. I’m only noticing what it is you all seem to be buying.
And don’t misunderstand me, I generally agree with RSM’s take on the evil that the SJW movement has done to society, although I can see it without needing to look in a bible for my morals. But I also don’t go searching out this kind of smut day after day like he and his readers do. I know it’s out there and a lot worse besides. But in terms of actual interest in it, I have very little. I can’t think of another right leaning blog that is so reliably filled with sexual deviancy as it’s selling point. The main entertainment value of this blog is in reading about amusing sexual scandals or practices and then laughing at the ludicrous denunciations in the comments made by people who visit here every day to read about exactly this kind of stuff. It’s like going to a nude beach to denounce all the naked people. You could just turn away or not go there at all, and yet, there you are, looking long and hard.
Oops, my replies are out of order, the last one should be read first. :/
I expect that she will never give birth, but I take no satisfaction in it, because I think that she would rather kill a baby than have one. What I can honestly do is pray that her contraception never fails.
Cultural appropriation! Someone call the PC police!
1. Our host is writing a book. His “Sex Trouble” series of blog posts is a way of essentially monetizing his research, by producing content that people can talk about.
2. You cannot cure an ailment with diagnosing it, and for that you need to document the symptoms. Our culture is sick, and needs healing.
3. Projection is not just a booth in a theater. I’m not at all inhibited about seeking the eroticism that I favor, and your “gay penis” bit was peculiarly detailed. Did you turn yourself on?
Do you have any self-awareness? You just compared child rape to nude sunbathing.
Porn is not rape, which is why people who posses porn are not charged with rape. When you graduate high school, be sure to get your certificate, just in case you need to prove it to someone.
I’ve been reading RSM a lot longer than you have apparently, because deviant sexuality has been a main part of this blogs content for a long, long time. Long before he hit on the idea of gathering it all up to sell to fellow christians. For research purposes, of course. Heaven forbid that anyone reads this smut and follows the links to pictures of naked women and stories of depravity because they are actually aroused by it all.
re 2: The ailment is not one you can cure, nor should you insult the readers intelligence by pretending that is the aim. RSM posts articles like that because there is an audience of christians who are drawn to those kinds of stories. The difference is, christians require a justification for reading penthouse forum style sexual escapades that isn’t based in erotica. Thus you’re “exposing” them or as you put it, laughably, “curing” them. Tell me, how many people have you “cured” by reading deviant stories on this blog?
You’re projecting, and as if no one can engage this material on a purely intellectual level, and their only real interest is a kind of second hand voyeurism. All you’re really revealing is your own shallow thought process. Did it really never occur to you that the subject of this article is emblatic of a new kind of cultural and intellectual degeneracy that is suddenly rather fashionable as well? And even more than that she’s a perfect example as to why the feminist movement is so dangerous. The fact that someone this vapid, and confused is putting herself out there as a role model for other girls, and influencing them is a really bad development. in short, she’s an asshole, and a whining upper middle class brat who in reality is doing better than 99% of the population but still pisses and moans about oppression. But, no, you think its all about the chicks she shacks up with.
She has a flabby ass and needs some sit ups.
And her body, the same.
