Why Do Feminists Hate Sex Robots?

Professor Kathleen Richardson wants to ban sex robots.

In the zero-sum-game worldview of feminism, anything that makes men happy is bad. Kathleen Richardson, a professor at De Montfort University in England, is afraid that having sex with robots will make men happy:

“Sex robots seem to be a growing focus in the robotics industry and the models that they draw on — how they will look, what roles they would play — are very disturbing indeed,” she told the BBC.
She believes that they reinforce traditional stereotypes of women and the view that a relationship need be nothing more than physical.
“We think that the creation of such robots will contribute to detrimental relationships between men and women, adults and children, men and men and women and women,” she said.

Notice that Dr. Richardson is only worried about how these robots would affect “traditional” stereotypes of women, whereas stereotypes of men are evidently not at all “disturbing” to her. While I am also against robot sex — it’s just plain creepy — I might change my mind if scientists could program these robots to make sandwiches.

We wouldn’t want feminist professors to make sandwiches, would we?

That would be “very disturbing indeed.”

  1. What? An ugly buffoon of a woman, who probably never felt the excitement of being the subject of a man’s attraction is against sex robots? A woman who probably never thought of developing a charming personality to make a man fall in love with her mind thinks women are just for sex? Look at her, she looks like a frog. She probably thinks the *only* reason she’s unlovable is because she’s not sexy at all. What decent sex robots will do, in my opinion, is weed out a lot of the men (and some women) from the dating scene – those looking just for the mechanical pleasure of fucking. We will have a bigger dating market of women than men, meaning women will have to compete for men’s attention. Basically, if it goes right, sex robots will improve the dating scene for men who don’t use them at all.

Naturally, women who can’t compete already are scared of the thought of being left out alone. Any one thing that may require women to compete is something these unfunny uglies will oppose.

  2. So, let me get this straight. Female heterosexuality is a mere social construct and is unnatural for women and PIV is always rape. Thus, a segment of the male population decides that it wishes to avoid the constant harping by the feminist harridan Left by leaving women alone. This, however, is “disturbing.”

    Got it.

  3. As the professor has said: Once you go metal you’ll never settle. And looking at that scrunt, yeah… the sexbot wins. Probably a better conversationalist as well.

  4. It is well-known, in certain circles, that manatees and robots have been at war for millennia, and this is just the latest front in that unending conflict–however, with the arrival of sex robots, the tide will decisively turn against the Gorgers, once and for all.

  5. She wants to ban the development of sex toys for men? So presumably she’s wants to ban sex toys for women then.

  6. But… if we had quality sex robots (“yes, but if you want a really good one, you’ll have to learn a foreign language”) that would give men something to do other than all the constant raping and women-destroying were famous for.

    Y’d think that’d be a Good Thing.

  7. Actually… it’d probably be easier to build a robotic sandwich maker than one who could suitably mimic a convincing, willing and able woman.

  8. Every year scientists and engineers are making advances in miniaturize sensors but there’s one aspect of this phenomenon to which a lot of enlighten people have given a good bit of thought. Is having sex with an ultra-realistic robot hooker cheating?

For my own part, yes and no. Do I look at that old robot on ‘Lost In Space’ waving its tentacular arms around and get all hot and bothered? No. Not hardly. Now when I look at the image of a polished chrome and flesh woman as painted by Hajime’ Sorayama, or Jeri Ryan playing the infamous borg, Seven-of-Nine on Star Trek Voyager? You better believe it! Just don’t tell my wife!

  9. I was wondering why Julie Bindel wanted to ban porn in her internment camps for men. The I remembered that feminism is all about making men miserable and keeping them that way. Misery loves company!

  10. They hate sex robots because the whole point of feminism is to prevent men from having sex. That robot sex is every bit as non-procreative as gay sex — which feminists seem not to mind quite as much — isn’t the point: if a robot can be made to look, smell and (ahem) feel like a woman, that makes men having sex with it intolerable.

Deep down, feminists want men only to have dirty, unpleasant sex — with mannish people who smell bad and have unwomanly voices.

  11. Well, I can see why Professor Richardson might be displeased with the notion, because there will certainly be no sex robots made in her image!

However, I absolutely agree that these masturbation machines sex robots who very much damage the relationships between real men and real women. Let’s face facts: most men mature primarily because that’s what’s required to have sex with real women.

  13. So far as many people are concerned, “the relationships between real men and real women” are already dead and decomposing. The advent of sex robots is just a way of burying them for good.

  14. Wow, she looks like she did a 100 yard dash in a 90 yard gym. 5 will get you 10 that she’s got some mechanical devices in her dresser that make her happy, but that’s cool though…..

  15. Sex Robots would lower her already extremely low sexual value to men. Why would a man want a robot over a flesh and blood woman? Probably because the women available are mentally disturbed, like the woman in this article.

  16. I am reminded of this bit from C.S. Lewis’ novel That Hideous Strength:

The Stranger mused for a few seconds; then, speaking in a slightly sing-song voice, he asked the following question:
“Who is called Sulva? What road does she walk ? Why is the womb barren on one side? Where are the cold marriages? ”

Ransom replied, “Sulva is she whom mortals call the Moon. She walks in the lowest sphere. Half of her orb is turned towards us and shares our curse. On this side the womb is barren and the marriages cold. There dwell an accursed people, full of pride and lust. There when a man takes a maiden in marriage
they do not lie together, but each lies with a cunningly fashioned image of the other, made to move and to be warm by devilish arts, for real flesh will not please them, they are so dainty (delicati) in their dreams of lust. Their real children they fabricate by vile arts in a secret place.”

  17. And you know, for a bitter, ranting feminist, Prof. Richardson is not completely ugly. In fact, she kind of looks like an older, frumpier version of Danica McKellar.

  18. I don’t particularly want men to have sex with robots, but unlike feminsts, I do want men to have sex with women, specifically with women they are married to and intend to someday have children with. Feminists do not want men to have sex with women, so what is their problem here?

  19. Mr. Churchhill, if I were your wife, I would poison your tea.

If I were your husband, I would drink it.

In addition to being a heroic war leader, the man had the best comebacks ever.

  20. “While I am also against robot sex — it’s just plain creepy …”

Well, yes, sexbots are “creepy” (and pathetic).
At the same time, most people in the decadent West — of both sexes — are already using other people as though they were nothing more than sexbots.
