Marxist Lesbian Feminist Mother Forces Son to Write Essay About Misogyny

Heather McNamara has a Tumblr blog and describes herself thus: “Literature enthusiast, feminist, marxist, queer theorist, lesbian, egomaniac, mom.” At her personal Web site, she adds that she is “a lesbian mom partnered with the lovely supergenius Zinnia Jones. . . . I’m finishing my degree in English with a focus on technical writing with a minor in writing and rhetoric at University of Central Florida.” (You can click here to see “the lovely supergenius Zinnia Jones.”) The other day Heather McNamara posted this on her Tumblr blog:

A few years ago, my son asked me if he could play GTA on his xbox. I told him that when he was old enough to write an essay on misogyny and its effects on society then he could play. A few days ago, he came to me and told me he’d been watching episodes of Feminist Frequency and felt that he was ready to write that essay. His stepmother, @zjemptv? and I came up with a list of questions. His answers, transcribed below (spelling errors corrected):

1. What is misogyny?
Misogyny is for men to think they’re better than women and they abuse women to show their dominance but that just make them look like jerks. If this is put into games too much, women would think it’s horrible and start hating the game. For example in Mass Effect you could slap the mean news lady. That equals to misogyny.
2. Give 3 examples of misogyny in video games that you’ve seen played on YouTube
In GTAV you do anything but if you shoot only women that counts to misogyny. Another example in video games is like wrestling. Some games allow you to beat women up in wrestling games. In any game that has misogyny some history events sometimes have women abuses in some games you can rape in those games that have misogyny.
3. Why might these examples of casual misogyny in video games be correlated to real life interpersonal violence toward women?
It’s probably a bad thing to rape women either in real life or in games. If a child is doing that in games it could teach them wrong. Imagine a dimension where misogyny switched places! It could be opposite but by the way rape nd abuse is all the way totally wrong.

So, should I let him? 😉

Inflicting this kind of feminist brainwashing on a boy can only be understood as an act of deliberate sadistic cruelty.

This poor child will probably never recover from the soul-destroying effects of exposure to his mother’s hateful anti-male ideology.

  1. She is obviously a failure for not aborting him when she had the chance. Oh for those great good old Stalinist and Maoist days when you could get rid of a “misogynist” boy with a bullet to the head.

  2. You see what I mean when I talk about feminism as a sadistic revenge fantasy? She grew up full of self-hatred, which she blames on “misogyny,” and she’s using this kid as a sort of voodoo doll, a proxy scapegoat for “the patriarchy,” deliberate warping his mind to turn him into a self-hating failure: “Take that, heteronormative patriarchy!”

  3. I understand wanting your kids to understand the difference of the fantasy of games and entertainment and reality, but this is far worse.

It’s horrifyingly like Pol Pot. Thou art a sinner by definition, and to prove thou art not, give us a recantation of any possible sins.

The over the top evils of Communism are here, and they are in the guise of feminism.

  4. In some ways – maybe in all ways – what she and the ‘lovely supergenius’ are doing to that kid is worse than physical abuse.

It’s harder to repair that kind of damage.

Time to fulfill Orwell’s wish and start calling down curses from Heaven.

  5. Typically not a paltry pittance of pulchritude to be seen in any of these feminists (not to mention the copiousness of the colossally corpulent). But the spiritual vacancy is far more disturbing

  6. Funny you should mention Communism.

I’m a third of the way through re-reading The Gulag Archipelago and the Soviets kept inflicting on their prisoners over and over again, at all stages of the process, psychological torture designed to (1) break their Wills, (2) get them to believe 2+2=5, and (3) believe they really had done something wrong.

  7. If anything, it sounds like she’s trying to blur the line and say that if he hurts a fictional character in a game, then he is bad and should feel bad.

  8. Since there is no such thing as misogyny, this is as dumb as asking the kid to document the existence of Santa Claus before receiving a X-mas present, complete with accurate maps of the N. Pole.

And for anyone who doubts trans are attention-seeking mental cases, the fact they never shut up about being trans should cure you of that notion. And one would think there’s eleventy kabillion of them when there’s probably more working clowns or UFO enthusiasts; why all the hub-hub over these people. Live your lives, good luck, shut up. I am personally sick of seeing these people used as some kind of moral barometer that puts all of America on either the right side or wrong side of history. How about who gives a fuck? Someone makes up crap like “misgendered” and suddenly I have to weigh in one way or another? How about it has nothing to do with me or anyone?

  9. Personal note: I have never been “into” the GTA series. I was basically gifted a copy of the most recent installment, GTA5, by an online friend of mine. I gave it a few hours to show me why I should put my time into it, and it failed to convince me, so it currently lay dormant on my 360’s hard drive with a save file just barely past the game’s introduction/tutorial.

The series was born in the era where “Controversy Sells Big” was one of the prevailing philosophies of video game design. Sadly, this mindset has never truly gone away — see the recent furor over an otherwise-mediocre overhead shooter called “Hatred” — but at least it’s no longer the primary driving force behind big-budget AAA titles that aren’t named “GTA”.

(I should also note that I very much enjoyed another crime-lord sandbox game named “Saint’s Row the Third”. But where GTA strives so very hard to be Authentic and Streetwise and Realistic, Saint’s Row is hilariously over-the-top and FUN, dammit. Oh, and another open-world game I enjoyed immensely? “Crackdown”, where you essentially play as a supercop — with a final-reel “plot twist” borne of the need to Be Relevant and Critique The War On Terror, of course.)

I’m not defending this wymyn’s requirement that her unfortunate son demonstrate his emasculation before playing GTA, mind you. Just making a personal note that this game holds no charm for me.

  10. Also, the reporter in “Mass Effect” the player can beat up deserves it. She’s a caracature of a “gotcha reporter”.

Or, you can go for inventive insults.

  11. I suppose saying “no” was out of the question? Perhaps followed by a recitation of Philippians 4:8.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (KJV)

But then, what do I know? I’m just a Christian dad who tried to rear my children correctly.

  12. The odds are good he’ll eventually rebel against these two miserable tw@ts, and turn into exactly the type of beer-drinking man’s-man that horrifies such types. I know several male children of feminist moms who did exactly this.

  13. When CPS starts taking kids from empty headed abusers such as this is the day I’ll consider they really protect kids instead of simply being state supported terrorism.

  14. I’m going to argue that nobody, let alone anyone <18, should be playing GTA, but that's me.

When my kids griped about boredom, I would hand out chores, or hand over some Hawthorne, Twain, Alcott, etc., give them 5 days to read it, then regale us at the dinner table with a synopsis. Voila! No more boredom, ever!

P.s. Same thing my parents did to us. Gotta go with what works.

  15. My thought, too. I’d go a step further and say that kids should not be playing any kind of violent games, including Pokemon, because really, what the heck is up with that?

What’s wrong with puzzle games? I like the iOS Boxed In apps, for instance, or 1010. I’d totally hand my iPad to a kid and challenge him to beat my high score on 1010.

  16. You don’t know nuffin’, RS. You don’t have the superiority of the lesbian mom. Lesbian moms are evidently the quintessential parenting experts. But…you like wimmins, right? Maybe you could be a lesbian dad.

  17. Wow, that’s a nice thought. I hope so. Makes me want to send the kid a wife-beater and a camo ballcap from Walmart, just to give him a hard shove back to the right path, lol.

  18. No its not child abuse. However, making your child remember in order and scripture lines of say Leviticus; well you might as well be true evil incarnated.

  19. OK, while we’re on that topic, I played Missile Command (known in my area as Defend Your Cities) and Centipede. But you know, firing presumed cannons at fakey 8-bit cities and insects and Tempest-things is a lot different than bloody photorealistic stabbings of hooers and rival gang members, in terms of violence.

  20. I should re-read that sometime. One bit from it that’s stuck with me is how he said how easy it would be if we could just get rid of the bad men, but the line between good and evil runs through the heart of every man, and who would cut out part of their own heart?

  21. Yeah, back then the opponents weren’t human. The Pac-Man games you’re eating things, Donkey Kong is rescuing a princess from a giant monkey, Defender and Stargate and Space Invaders and Galaxian and Galaga are defending humanity from an alien invasion, Robotron 2084 is the same except it’s robots instead of aliens, Centipede and Millipede is the same except it’s bugs, … you see the theme here.

  22. This is child abuse, pure and simple. But don’t expect to hear from CPS. That is reserved for Christian home schoolers.

  23. This brings up an interesting comparison. Remember the woman who said that she aborted her unborn child because he was male? So, we have a comparison between a woman who would never rear a male, because she believes that all males are evil — though not so evil that she refuses to copulate with them — and one who has a son, but who wants to rear him to not be a normal male.

    Which one is worse?

  24. It’s from Volume I, Book I:

If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line
dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?

    During the life of any heart this line keeps changing place;
sometimes it is squeezed one way by exuberant evil and sometimes it shifts to allow enough space for good to flourish. One and the same
human being is, at various ages, under various circumstances, a totally different human being. At times he is close to being a devil, at times to sainthood. But his name doesn’t change, and to that name we ascribe the whole lot, good and evil.

    Socrates taught us: Know thyself!

  25. You know, last night I remembered an incident from last year with my youngest perhaps pertinent to this topic. Last year, he saw a poster in a catalog of “educational resources” which had caricatures of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky and Engles on it. The catchphrase was “Let’s Get The Party Started.”* He wanted to buy it, as he’s a history/geography buff. I told him, I’d write the check, but first he had to research the body count of Communism during the 20th Century and provide an approximate percentage of that figure which were Christians killed for the faith. I also suggested he try to find a poster which had the same cut line but with caricatures of Hitler, Goering, Himmler and Goebbels.

I never did write the check.

*The existence of the poster in an “Educational Resources” catalog tells you everything you need to know about the state of education in this country.

  26. While I don’t necessarily object to violence in games, I do object to pointless violence. I’ve never been a fan of the ‘open world anarchy’ that the GTA series pushes. Especially with its relative lack of consequences.

The Fallout and Elder Scrolls series, on the other hand, handled it a lot better. Not perfectly, but better.

  27. Saints’ Row isn’t even TRYING for ‘authenticity’. It’s the video game equivalent of a bizarre mashup between a Zucker Brothers comedy and a 70’s crime drama. 😀

  28. You can practically smell the cats on that one. She’s got “crazy-eye” to a degree rarely seen outside of captivity…

  29. Which one is worse, the feces sandwich or the dirt sandwich? I’d say that the former is worse, but that doesn’t mean I’d ever eat the latter one either.

  30. So, you’re saying it’s “Police Squad!” from the other side of the law.

…That goes a long way toward explaining why I enjoyed it so much. 🙂
