The #SanBernardino Massacre

Posted on | December 2, 2015 | 37 Comments

Everybody’s been watching this story develop live on TV:

At least 14 people were dead and another 17 injured in a shooting Wednesday in San Bernardino, California, when multiple gunmen who were heavily armed and “on a mission” opened fire during a function at a center for people with developmental disabilities, police said.
Up to three shooters opened fire around 11 a.m. at the Inland Regional Center, armed with long guns and “came prepared to do what they did as if they were on a mission,” San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said.
The shooting lasted for just “a few minutes” before the suspects, who remained on the loose, may have fled the scene in what Burguan described as a “dark color SUV.” Police have no identification information about the suspects and have not identified a motive.

It is being reported that police killed two of the suspects and that a third suspect escaped on foot, but everything else is sketchy. The motive is the big mystery at this point.

UPDATE: The Los Angeles Times reports:

The shooters, who carried long guns and wore masks and camouflage clothing, opened fire on a holiday party being held by county employees, federal law enforcement sources and a witness told the Los Angeles Times.
An altercation between people attending the gathering may have sparked the assault. A federal law enforcement source said that one of the shooters may have left the party after getting into an argument and returned with one or two armed companions.
The shooting took place in a large conference room on the grounds of the Inland Regional Center, which serves people with developmental disabilities in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

UPDATE II: Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik Named in #SanBernardino Shooting

Best option, as always, is to wait and see what actually happened.

So, a guy leaves a meeting after getting into an argument, and convinces 2 of his buddies to commit murder that will end in their own deaths.

Either this guy is very influential or something stinks.

That’s what I was thinking. If it was a nut job, I could “understand” him heading home and getting his gun, before returning. Who would have 2 buddies waiting on call and decked out in body armor – ready to go?

How “professional” could these guys be if they got caught a couple of hours later in the getaway vehicle?

Obviously something very bad happened. Three guys shooting up a county office is not your typical gang banger initiation gone bad, domestic violence altercation, lone wolf psychotic, or a botched robbery.

But we wait and see what happened…

Flipping through the tv channels just now :

FoxNews – Bill OReilly talking with former SWAT team member and a counter-terrorism expert about assessment and responses to active shooter situations.
CNN- Anderson Cooper talking with a former FBI Asst. Director about assessment and response procedures
MSNBC- Chris Hayes talking with gun control advocate

This is why shows about women’s prisons are MSNBC’s highest rated shows.

The initial inclination of the left was to try and use this for gun control. Then, they started mocking the religiosity of the Republican candidates.

Now that it looks like the kind of Muslim terrorism that Obama mocked a few days ago, I get the feeling the left is panicking. This is about 24-48 hours from exploding in their faces.

Not only have they been proven wrong on the substance and policy issues (Syrian refugees), but they’ve made themselves look like dicks in the process with their petulance.

Money shots: Obama – Syrian refugees and climate change. Hillary – “This has absolutely nothing to do with Islam.”

I’ve had lutefisk, and it made me want to kill someone: the person who made the lutefisk.

Stmpathies to the victims families and those who were involved, a “great job” to those who cornered the rats, and lastly a “Gee i thought paradise would be cooler and have much less lakes of burning sulphur and devils with pichforks then this” to the turdbuckets who did this.

As the token Norse-American around here, I don’t eat lutefisk.

    And I’m not Lutheran.

The reason they go off is because they are eating poverty food in when they live in the land of plenty.

I don’t say no to pickled herring, though.

Early reports stated that these terrorists had pipe bombs, but the MSM has stopped mentioning that aspect of this incident. In that regard, the MSM is acting just like it did in the wake of the Columbine bloodbath.

For a refresher, here are a few points about Columbine:

During the Columbine massacre, in which 15 people were murdered and 21 injured, a total of four firearms were involved. The murderers also employed four knives and 99 explosive devices.

Of the firearms, only one qualified under the 1984 federal law as a banned “assault rifle”. One firearm was a doubled barreled shotgun with a shortened barrel. It has long been a federal felony to saw down the barrel of a shotgun and it was also a felony to possess such an altered weapon.

Every single explosive device was a federal and state felony to assemble, possess and use, and to use in the commission of a crime.

If the memory of Columbine is ever brought up today, the failure of the law to stop the use of explosives in a school massacre is never mentioned. It is never mentioned because that gets in the way of a Gollum-like fixation on the Precious, starting with the banning of certain firearms and certain accessories but to eventually to banning all firearms.

When will democrats embrace who they are; and finally remove God from the party platform once and for all?

I agree, in the sense that if you soak something in lye to make it jelly-like, you sure don’t want to eat it. You ought to bury it. Perhaps with some lime. In a deep grave.

Grits are my second favorite food, and they don’t resemble anything soaked in lye. Do you not know how to be Southern? Why would anybody not like hominy?

  36. Quartermaster
    December 3rd, 2015 @ 8:21 pm

I don’t like Grits. Hominy is prepared by taking hard corn and softening it by soaking it in lye. My father did it once to show me how it was done. His parents made it. I could choke it down, but I didn’t eat it often, fortunately.

Since my father was Air Force food service (one of the few options available to a school dropout even in the late 40s), we pretty much ate “Yankee” at home. My father even lost his taste for grits. I wasn’t raised in the south, with the exception of 3 years in east Tennessee and San Antonio. The hazards of being an AFBrat.

But…but…but grits are soooo good. Eaten with butter and salt, with fried catfish, and greens with hamhocks. Mmmmm.

Guess you don’t like hoppin’ john either.

This is why I can’t eat whenever I’m forced to travel up north. : )
