Donkey Cartel, R.I.P.

Another promising young performance artist has been slain by social injustice and pistol fire, but mainly it was pistol fire:

Daquan Westbrook, a rapper with an extensive arrest record, has been identified as the man killed in an officer-involved shooting at Northlake Mall in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Christmas Eve.
Mr. Westbrook, 18, was a rapper who performed as “Donkey Cartel” and released a mixtape titled “Convicted Felon With a Weapon,” the cover of which shows him in a prison cell wearing an orange jumpsuit and making hand signs. . . .
Mr. Westbrook had a lengthy history of run-ins with the police, his record including at least 11 arrests since 2013, one of them related to the shooting of a 12-year-old boy.
According to the Charlotte Observer, the most recent arrests were in October and “were related to drugs, larceny and resisting arrest.”
A shoe store manager in the mall told CNN that the gunfight that prompted an off-duty officer to kill the gunman began when a group of people “ganged up” to attack a man.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney said at a Thursday evening news conference that while he could not specifically say the shooting was gang-related, the altercation involved two groups with a history of feuding. . . .
The subjects involved all have a history of gun violence, he said.
Chief Putney said Mr. Westbrook was carrying a gun and pointed it at Officer Thomas Ferguson when the off-duty policeman tried to break up the fight, at which several shots were fired. Several guns were found at the scene, Chief Putney said.
The officer then killed Mr. Westbrook.

Merry Christmas and R.I.P., Donkey Cartel.

  1. Too much thinking went into this stupidity. They brought the guns. They confronted. They fired . How many innocents were hit by these miscreants? A culture of violence perpetrated by BLM and it’s ilk..

  2. Christmas Eve and an 18year-old with an extensive criminal record brings a gun to the mall and a gang fight.

His mother’s probably howling Jesus’s name and asking “Why Lord, why, why my baby had to die?”

Poor upbringing, that’s why and Charlotte NC is a safer place for it.

  3. Oh, I thought this was going to be an article about Democrat corporatism, and than I could bring Republican corporatism. But no, that was his name.

  4. Most likely Donkey Cartel was in a feud with his pimp… about getting paid for his mutiple gay sex orgies with 0bama and several other democrat politicians for the last 7 yrs. that must of been a lot of money… *ROFL*

  5. It is very sad that this Donkey Cartel guy thought so little of his life that he recklessly threw it away.

Perhaps some of those who were part of the two groups in contention will have the scales drop from their eyes.

Blaming police and other citizens in justified shootings serves only to retard the wake-up process, not stop it… so more Democrat members wind up participating in “suicide-by-other-firearm-holder”.
    Very sad, but not inexplicable.

Have a Merry Christmas, everyone! :~)?

  6. Pregnant girlfriend and just got off probation so he thinks its a good idea to be a felon on possession and go looking for trouble at a crowded mall on Christmas Eve. Looks like he found it and the taxpayers will now be on the hook for his offspring.

  7. Varies from State to State. Here in Louisiana we can shoot someone if we fear for our lives or the lives of others, so in this case (not knowing all the details) it would most likely be legal. I think this is common throughout all of the Gulf Coast States.

Other States require you to run like a coward and get cornered with no means of escape first.

  8. The taxpayers would have been on the hook for his offspring in any case – little chance of a felon that goes by “Donkey Cartel” and shoots pre-teens holding down gainful employment and making sensible life decisions.

  9. It’s helpful when law enforcement breaks up vicious peer cultures. I can introduce you to people who bore no characterological resemblance to their siblings (but a great deal to people in their social circle). The problem is particularly severe in slum neighborhoods.

  10. What do you mean ‘on the hook’? The census of TANF is about 60% lower than was the census on AFDC ca. 1996. SSI requires a disability adjudication. Housing vouchers have looong waiting lists. EBT cards are good for about $500 per month for an ordinary size household. Public school berths incorporate $12,000 of expenditure per annum and parents aren’t paying most of the cost, but that applies in just about any stratum of society below the top.

  11. I think I’ll just reserve judgment until some facts arise that were not provided by the police. Call me a cynic, if you will, but I’ve seen the police justify some fairly shady behavior.

  12. It’s unlikely that there will be any facts not provided by the Police. As we’ve seen repeatedly, the “facts” not provided by the Police as often as not are found not to be facts.

  13. Incorrect: #BlackLivesMatter when any black person is killed by any white person; said killer need not be a police officer. It’s just a double-down when the killer is a policeman.

  14. Some states require a duty to retreat in many circumstances, but if someone pulls a weapon and points it at you, you face imminent serious bodily harm and that allows you to use appropriate force to protect yourself. It doesn’t mean you won’t be charged, and you may be bankrupted defending yourself, but a competent lawyer and an impartial jury should get you off. Unless you are a cop in Baltimore….

  15. I’m sorry, but there must have been some errors in the original story. Mr Westbrook had a significant arrest record, and thus could not have possessed a firearm, and thus did not have one. Even if by some chance he did have one, the mall was a gun-free zone, so he couldn’t have brought said firearm to the mall.

There is just no way that the story could be true. The only real possibility would be that a white police officer had it in for Mr Westbrook, ambushed him and killed him elsewhere, and then dragged his lifeless body, along with several “plant” guns to the mall, to use as an excuse to cover up his brutal murder of a promising black rap artist.

  16. Point a firearm at a cop is about as stupid as it gets. The guy is literally licensed to use deadly force, and in the south, the cops probably spend more time on the practice range than certain other regions of the country.

It looks like another case where existing “common-sense” gun laws didn’t work…

  17. Post the obvious that it is prolly a good thing that this thug is no longer around to hurt/kill more innocents get called a racist.

  18. It may sound harsh, but the people who would have been his future victims will have many more merry Christmases because he won’t have any more.

  19. I don’t know what you’re implying here, JV, but I happen to know that all those fellows are Ivy League grads and English Lit professors.

  20. I think the most surprising thing in the entire article is this: “He had just graduated high school in 2014, according to his Twitter,”

I am going to need independent confirmation of this before I will believe it.

  21. At best, he might have been a sperm donor. But that may not be the case. If there is a civil case against the state, I would demand a paternity case to prove the recently deceased was the actual sperm donor.

  22. Well, I was thinking he was a late entry in this year’s Darwin Awards competition, but clearly this disqualifies him.

  23. Simple enough. As I would’t immediately accept facts only provided by the criminals, I wouldn’t accept facts only provide by the police. Only a fool doesn’t recognize that BOTH are interested parties.

  24. OMG a felon is not suppose to own a gun it’s ILLEGAL and the mall was a no gun zone how on earth did this happen? Progressive brains are exploding

  25. I’ve always thought persons who are the subject of photos such as these— you know, those who enjoy wearing “teflon underwear”— could use a few “cable staples”… the really big ones used by electric power linemen. Three or five of those, driven well-in, would stop the slide!

It would probably make a good commercial for industrial staples, too!

    Imagine it:

“I’m thin as a rail and slippery as a bucket of slime! No matter what I tried, I simply couldn’t keep my pants up!

It was particularly embarrassing on ‘laundry days’ when I had to go ‘commando’!

    I tried everything! Nothing worked!

Nothing that is, until I tried ‘Brand X’ Linesman Cable Staples !

Just five of this inexpensive beauties, driven flush, hold my drawers up no matter what the weather!

Not ONLY are they practical… their bright-burnished faux-silver finish makes them the perfect fashion accessory, offsetting my gold ‘bling’! It makes my ‘homies’ respect my taste and style!

Get yours now, and your ‘homies’ will respect yours, too!”

I can just see it in my mind’s-eye!

  26. “Donkey Cartel”:
According to the slang dictionaries I checked, “Donkey” is ghetto slang for a girl with large buttocks.
So maybe “Donkey Cartel” indicates that Daquan aspired to be a pimp. It would fit with his sordid record.

  27. Attention parents of inner city children:

““Convicted Felon With a Weapon,” the cover of which shows him in a prison cell wearing an orange jumpsuit and making hand signs”

If you have children in any way associated with something like the above, either plan on moving away to keep them safe or start putting away money to bury them.

There ain’t nothing good about the hoodlum lifestyle.

  28. “Point a firearm at a cop is about as stupid as it gets”
Unfortunately, BLM, SJWs and their parent group, the DNC are doing the best they can to keep cops from protecting themselves or law abiding citizens.
