Aspiring Rapper Update: The Utterly Unsurprising Death of ‘BloodHound Q50’

Posted on | September 14, 2026 | No Comments

No intelligent person would have predicted a long life for Mikquale Cooper, a/k/a “BloodHound Q50.” In all honesty, it was surprising that Cooper lived to be 22 years old before he got riddled with bullets early Sunday morning on the south side of Chicago. Cooper was a practitioner of what is known as “drill rap,” which involves urban gangsters bragging about their crimes and threatening to murder their rivals:

Drill music . . . is a subgenre of hip-hop music with sonic origins in trap music and lyrical origins in gangsta rap. It began in Chicag0 . . . in the early 2010s. Drill lyricism is noted for its ominous, confrontational nature, often including references to gang rivalries and various retaliatory incidents, sometimes murder, although the subgenre is thematically broader. Drill artists often address authentic, real-life conflicts, at times incorporating artistic expressions such as bravado, taunting, and mockery.
Early drill artists are typically noted for their associations with crime in Chicago, especially with the Black Disciples and Gangster Disciples.

So says Wikipedia. Because I’m neither tone deaf nor retarded, I don’t listen to the stuff myself, but Q50 was quite successful in the genre, having gotten millions of views on YouTube, and more than 400 million streams via online music platforms. Q50 released two albums, “Long Live My Brudda He Prolly Kilt Yo Brudda” and “Get Back Or Die Trying.” Based on YouTube views, however, his greatest success was “Triple 3,” featuring Q50 with two of his buddies, Jeffery Lamar Harris Jr. (a/k/a “BloodHound Lil Jeff”) and Asyrion Malik Hogan (a/k/a “Lil Scoom89”).

That video has more than 34 million views, but by the time it was released to YouTube (July 14, 2024), both “Lil Jeff” and “Lil Scoom” had been shot to death. “Lil Jeff” was killed June 8, 2024, and surveillance video showed that he lost a gunfight — he went hunting for one of his enemies, but ended up getting shot himself. “Lil Scoom” was shot to death a month later, after an argument escalated to gunfire.

British hiphop aficionado Ross Callum did a documentary about “Lil Jeff,” noting that the rapper claimed to have killed 11 people. Callum then followed up with a documentary about Q50, who claimed to have killed eight people, which would have been 10, he said, except that two survived their shootings. In other words, these guys were basically serial killers, and their murderous reputations actually made them more popular among the tone-deaf retards who listen to this stuff.

Q50 finally got his comeuppance Sunday morning, around 4 a.m.:

Chicago rapper BloodHound Q50 was killed in a brutal early-morning ambush in Chicago — with six masked gunmen allegedly surrounding the Tesla he was in and opening fire.
Q50 — whose real name was Mikquale T. Cooper — was behind the wheel of a white Tesla parked at a BP gas station in Chicago’s Fuller Park neighborhood around 4 AM Sunday when he was gunned down, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Police say the 22-year-old had just arrived when a black Infiniti carrying two masked people pulled up alongside him. Around the same time, a silver Honda Accord with four people inside reportedly arrived at another pump.
After the rapper and a 29-year-old female passenger went inside the gas station, one of the masked individuals allegedly went over to the Honda and retrieved objects from inside.
The woman then left the store and drove the Tesla to the store entrance. She got out of the car and let Q50 get behind the wheel. That’s when authorities say the six suspects made their move.
According to the report, two masked gunmen from the Infiniti and four others from the Honda allegedly approached the Tesla and opened fire … striking Q50 in the chest and shoulder. Chicago Fire Department personnel responded, but Q50 was pronounced dead at approximately 4:35 AM, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Surveillance video shows that the killers were using the same machine-gun modified Glocks that Q50 favored for his own crimes. (Live by the switch, die by the switch.) Crime-scene markers suggest nearly 70 shots were fired, and the shooters were not very good at concealing their identities, because online sleuths quickly ID’d them based on their own social media postings. Cops could easily bust these guys.

On the other hand, why bother arresting the killers? It’s not like Q50 was an innocent bystander. He had killed many times before, and would have killed again, if he hadn’t been killed himself. “Self-cleaning oven,” as the cops in Chicago call such a situation, and as long as it’s just gang-bangers killing other gang-bangers, does anyone really care? Q50’s death might be lamented by the kind of tone-deaf retards who listen to “drill,” but that’s it. The rest of us are indifferent, at best. Nothing of value was lost.
