It’s Stacy McCain’s birthday today. How about we break out some cheer. Consider: a snapshot from the early days of color photography, Stacy’s youth:Now, Stacy has not formally denied that this is him, clutching his Cuddlewhumpus County, Alabama Annual Noodling Contest and Catfish Fry, Third Place, Youth Division trophy, but that’s what I heard.

Quick poll: is it high time that Stacy resurrect the mullet?

    PS:  Happy birthday, Stacy!

Shoulda said that first, but the thought of mullets re-appearing on the streets of America scared the crap out of me.

Most people were born this week than any other.   It sounds so serindipidous until you realize if you go back 40 weeks or so, Mom and Dad were celebrating New Years Eve.  And drinking.

Sort of explains things with Stacy, doesn’t it?

    Happy Birthday, sir

fwiw, I am warming to Cain- you are a skilled propagandist

Seriously, he’s a good man and real conservative… now  that  I look at the narrowed GOP field the other choices don’t measure up, unless Bachmann came back from the dead somehow

No zebra striped pants or David Lee Roth style chaps to go with the mullet?  We may now know why rock stardom was always  just out of reach.

    Happy birthday!

Hahaha! Mullets never went out of style here, in the South. Some of the ‘necks are as loyal to the mullet, as they are to the confederate flag. It provides a constant source of amusement for people like me, who have a bad habit called “point and laugh.”

    Happy Birthday, Stacy!

Hey, I used to have a mullet. Like my daughters used to say…business in the front, party in the back.

    Happy Birthday to you Stacy.

RSM’s mullet may have fallen away, left on pillow cases and shower drains over the years, but the memory and spirit of the mullet remains!

[…] Birthday Boy, RS. McCain has the scoop: Saturday, I was the first to report that former Pentagon spokesman J.D. Gordon was taking over as de facto press secretary in the wake of Ellen Carmichael’s resignation. Today, I had my first phone interview with Commander Gordon, USN (Retired) — a career Navy man, like my co-blogger Smitty — and was quite impressed. […]

Damn. Back then it looked like you were headed for Bubba-hood on a greased rail. (you seemed to have an abundance of baby fat)

Now your picture reflects the life you’ve lead. Running from one story after another, sweating the deadline and the boss (not so much now) and wondering if you could’ve punched up the header a little.

Congratulations; you escaped your genetic fate and found a different way to annoy your betters.(joke)
