There is plenty of room for interpretations of the ‘occupy protests’, including this one from Jezebel: What Does It Mean To Protest Like A Girl?

In other news, RIP Dennis Ritchie, 1941-2011:

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/10/13/dennis_ritchie/

Dennis Ritchie was more important to my computer life than Steve Jobs.  Ritchie and Thompson together wrote the original version of Unix, from which Solaris, Linux, BSD, and all the rest came from.  Kernighan and Ritchie wrote and defined the C language which Unix was written in; the K&R book is still the standard C reference book to this day.  Even Apple wouldn’t be where it is today without Ritchie; OSX was based off FreeBSD which was based off BSD which was based off Ritchie’s Unix.

Farewell, DMR.  May your processes never become zombies.
