‘Social Activist’? Really, Bob?

This is so sad: Bob Belvedere at The Camp of the Saints featured Mia Kirshner in a Rule 5 post Wednesday. Lovely girl. I’d never heard of her, so I did a quick Google:

Mia Kirshner (born January 25, 1975) is a Canadian actress and social activist who works in movies and television series. She is best known for her portrayal of Jenny Schecter on The L Word (2004–2009) and for her role in the 2006 crime film The Black Dahlia as Elizabeth Short.

The phrase “social activist” caught my eye. Not in a good way. So I kept reading until I saw this:

In October 2008, after 7 years in production, Kirshner published the book I Live Here,[15] which she co-produced with ex-Adbusters staffers Paul Shoebridge and Michael Simons, as well as writer James MacKinnon. . . . After the release of the book, the Center for International Studies at MIT invited Kirshner to run a 4-week course on I Live Here in January 2009.

This is not good. Adbusters started the Occupy movement. And Kirshner’s co-authors are closely tied to the guy behind it:

[Adbusters publisher Kalle] Lasn takes full credit for the protests that started with Wall Street . . . Lasn collaborated on the book Design Anarchy (2006) with fellow social activists Michael Simons and Paul Shoebridge.

OK, so what’s up with that book?

“Design Anarchy is equal parts memoir, manifesto, scrapbook, and revolutionary design manual.”

Whatever. Kirshner’s been running around with these Canadian “social activist” commies, which is . . . unfortunate. A pretty girl like that, mixed up with such wretched scum? Ruins it for me. But maybe you still want to see her in her underwear.

I’m going to have to talk to Bob Belvedere about his choice of Rule 5 material. No more Canadian “social activist” types. Not even if they show their nipples in a see-through top.

Those are commie nipples!

  1. Hey, I didn’t know.  I just remembered her as The Black Dahlia and that she looks incredibly like the murdered girl.

If I vetted every broad that I featured for her politics, I’d never be able to feature over half the gals I do.

Besides, you’re not looking at the positive aspect to featuring crazy chicks like this: call it an incentive for all you red-blooded, single, American patriots to take one for the team and try to convert the misguided dame.

  2. Man, if she knew how badly she was  oppressing herself with those photos, she might not have posed for them.

Or, maybe she’d realize that she’s nothing more than a poseur.

    A full time poseur.

  3. Eh, I don’t care how good looking they are on the outside… When their souls are tainted or ugly like that, then I can’t find ’em even remotely attractive…

  4. I’m concurring with Bob here.  It’s the duty of red-blooded American men (and women if unfortunately required) to convert women to our cause of sanity.

  5. It would be next to impossible to find somebody in Hollywood that isn’t a screeching leftist moonbat, but damn if it doesn’t seem like she’s gone that extra mile. That’s not just a mindless moonbat there, that’s a damn devoted moonbat, the kind you’d never get close enough to in order to convert her even if you ran in her circle. Me, I wouldn’t bother with it. I have too much resentment over the stranglehold this type has on the entertainment industry to give a damn about her looks or anything else about her.

  8. You don’t have to talk to an air-headed “pretty girl,” but that would be objectifying her, now wouldn’t it?  Me, I’d rather look at a lovely conservative girl, at least should could make a decent conversation.

  9. Stace is all out of sorts over Bobby’s indiscriminate yet astute awareness of his environment, yet every time I come over here I’m wondering what are the three foods I should never eat.  I’m thinking “Pot, meet frying pan.  Frying pan, this is pot.”
