Zilla Bears No Ill Will Toward Me Over The Absurd Tick Post

Posted on | July 2, 2012 | 22 Comments

by Smitty

I just got an email from Zilla, who suffers from Lyme disease, concerning the tick post yesterday. In truth, I was struck by the physical similarity of the tick’s abdomen spot to the Apple logo, and went for a sophomoric riff, without even giving Zilla a thought.

To those who, perhaps not seriously, sought to cast guilt upon me in the comments: I do have a finely-tuned conscience, but plays to guilt and fear really never get to it.

Zilla is a cool lady, and totally merits whatever support you can spare.

Smitty, I was pulling your leg. Your retort about Political Correctness was on the button, and what I expected in return. I didn’t have any expectation that Zilla would be in the least offended and would stilled my fingers if I’d had any inkling that she would be offended by it.

Do I need to give your leg back? 🙂

A completely unnecessary joke about that not being my leg comes to mind, but I’ll leave that up to the reader to puzzle out.
Zill did write me a note, which motivated this post.

Oh c’mon you photoshop genii, Zilla in a Prius eating tofu. You know you want to.

Have you ever heard of “Lyme Rage”? It’s real, and added to an existing Irish temper, it could be dangerous.
Please, no tofu & prius photshops of me (I hate both tofu and priuses and don’t much care for folks who are fond of them), but if you want to do one with me in a (pre-gov’t takeover) Chevy Muscle Car (I used to have an old Malibu with a chromed out badass Corvette engine under the hood) gleefully chomping on a bacon wrapped Filet Mignon (apologies to EBL), I will even provide a photo of myself for you (there are not a lot of pictures of me as I hide from cameras, but a few I don’t hate do exist).

I have heard of “lime rage.” It’s what happens when some bonehead bartender leaves the citrus out of my Tanqueray and tonic.

Just a friendly reminder that people should always be suspicious of internet personas that revolve around an illness.  Especially when they ask for money.

I’m sure that does not apply to Zilla, who has many online friends who have vouched for her.  I’ve just seen too many hoaxes over the years and know how easy it is to fool people.

Just an FYI: I am not a “personna”,  I am a real freaking person. Go through my archives and you will see that I was a solid and consistent conservative anti-jihad blogger long before I got really sick, my blog DID NOT revolve around my illness until my illness took over my freaking life.

I have suffered a lot of damage to my reputation (and the recent rapid deterioration of  my health just might be due to the stress from having to fight against nasty lies about me)  due to false accusations recently that I am not ME despite my easily searchable online history which goes back for years even before I had a blog.

I am not the only blogger who has a tip jar, by the way, and I am not the first blogger who has gotten genuinely ill and asked for help,  it just so happens that my tip jar is the only way I have been able to afford the specialized care that I need to save my freaking life since I became so very ill (if this illness had happened a few years ago before the obameconomy wrecked up my family’s ability to stay afloat I would not have to ask for help), and thanks to all the damage that has been done to me because I tried to be nice to someone who I felt sorry for (who I have since fully disassociated with, but that is obviously not good enough for some people) I have been attacked and now it is very likely that I will have to abandon my fight against the diseases that have destroyed my health and much of my life.

Now every time my name gets mentioned anywhere, someone shows up to “warn” people not to help a sick blogger because some other blogger did something awful long before I had ever even heard of that person, but conspiracy minded lunatics decided that I WAS that person. I have given ALL of my private personal information to well known and trustworthy people so that they would know who I am and hopefully clear up the nasty rumors, I have invited people to come with me to my medical appointments so they could look through my private personal medical records. I don’t know wtf else I can do to clear my name which has been unjustly dragged through the mud, and I am honestly sick of it.

I now get demonized for being sick and asking for help. I wish I did not have to ask for help, as it is humiliating to have to do it, but my sickness scares me and I simply do not have any other resources available at this time other than selling ad space (but I need to get well enough to put up real -not sickness related- blog posts again in order to build my traffic back up), and I really just want to get a handle on these diseases so I can try to get some of my life back and be able to blog more in the style that people had become accustomed to before I got so freaking sick.

I wish people remembered how I used to be before I got so sick, I wish people would remember the heavily researched and highly detailed things I used to write before I got so very sick (published articles and blog posts which are still easily located on the internet) and I wish that people would remember that I had an excellent reputation before I made the mistake of trying to be nice to somebody who I had never even heard of until early this year and when I was unaware of all the damage that my befriending that person would end up causing me.

Whoa.  I specifically mentioned you by name because I did read your blog and I have followed comments from people who claim to know you personally.  They believe you and I have no reason to doubt them.

Your defensive reaction, however, speaks volumes.  I’ll never mention you again because I know better.   I’m glad you got over the brain inflammation.  Good luck and happy tip jar.

I’m reminded of a lyric, “We’re all sensitive people (with so much to give) “, but the song as a whole totally clashes with this post. I find that having a good sense of ‘this doesn’t apply to me’ helps in most cases.

I’m sorry, I am just all messed up physically and still very sensitive right now. The whole mess with those people recently just made my nerves super raw.
    I apologize.

Well anything called “Belvedere” must be awesome, so OK! I mostly had old Chevys and Buicks, but I can be flexible. When I was a kid my dad had a badass Plymouth Fury, we called it the mean green machine. I loved that car. He also had a Ford Maverick which was pretty cool.

Well then…that’s okay – the Fury’s were great cars.
