This GEICO ad is nowhere near as vulgar as the recent Onion dustup:
The joke, like good saucy humor, is served up incomplete. You have to want to view the actress as doing more than serving a stereotype for there to be substantial naughtiness going on here.
Furthermore, it’s a good teaching opportunity. A really good SoCon parent is going to say to his son: “Hey, getting yourself alone with Yolanda Be Cool, while not without testosterone appeal, is a sure ticket to misery.”
Then again, One Million Moms is a part of the American Family Association, which has been labeled a hate group by the Southern (Intellectual) Poverty Law Center, which means that OMM can’t be all bad.

This lack of a sense of humor amongst some of our own is boring.
Seems to me Bugs Bunny romanced a few hot babes in his time – would they object to that too?
Any more, I view this sort of thing as either (a) station identification, or (b) part of the marketing plan.

Why is it such a big deal that some girls like pigs? If it weren’t true there wouldn’t be so many of us who are pigs.
Bugs was also known for cross dressing.
Oooooh, that wascawwy wabbit!
“All Men Are Pigs” — Neal Boortz
In this day and age you cannot overstate how perverted the Geico/pig ad actually is. And I say this as a former senior editor and publisher of Penthouse Magazine.
Garth Algar:
Did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played a girl bunny?
Wayne Campbell:
No.
[cracks up laughing]
Wayne Campbell:
No.
Garth Algar:
Neither did I. I was just asking.

I put it under ‘softening us up for the next step down after homosexuality: beastiality.’
I submit that you may be standing a bit too close to the joke.
Better than vampires. But anybody starts writing a romantic chick lit series with vampire pigs, I’m getting a damn crossbow.
If the best advertising gimmick GEICO can conjure up is a pig, it is in serious trouble. A different marketing firm might be in order.
Hell, there was even one cartoon where he FORCED Fudd to have a transgender incident, the prevert!

Oh, I got the joke just fine. I also know from doing various forms of creative work that some jokes get overplayed, cross the line, take it too far, etc. The real skill is knowing where that line is, at any given moment. I hadn’t followed any of the news on it, but the first time I saw it, the K-Missus and I looked at each other and said, “that one’s going to get some angry feedback.”
Not from us, because we don’t really care.
But it was pitifully obvious they were going to anger some folks. They did. So what? We’re supposed to tell people they are wrong for reacting?
Besides, GEICO is owned by Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway. I’m not going to tell folks to shut up in the face of that fact. Besides, besides, GEICO canned Lee Ermey for speaking his mind. All that, and the pig is annoying at the best of times.
I’d rather tell conservatives to STOP policing the social cons, rather than tell the social cons they have to lighten up. (And I’m not a social con).
Perhaps so, but my level of paranoia often gets outpaced by reality. Forex, I didn’t think the RINOs would be stupid enough to force Romney down our throats…
