The “assault weapons ban” was never more than a distraction. The one to watch is “background checks”, which they make sound so reasonable, although they really are nothing more than back-door registration. The government is required, by law, to destroy the records of background checks. They keep them all. Further, the alleged forty percent of transfers without checks include CHL holders, who have already been vetted, and sales to law enforcement officers. Background checks even for inherited weapons will, at the very least, criminalize millions of gun owners who do not get themselves checked for having grandpa’s shotgun. It’s very convenient for would-be tyrants to have myriad confusing laws, so inconvenient people can always be arrested, on, e.g. “a weapons charge.”

Is there any news on that Senator Bob Menendez Dominican Republican hooker story? RSM said “Expect more, soon.” back on February 4th. I would think a status update might be appropriate.
