Senate Slouching Toward Compromise

Posted on | April 11, 2013 | 18 Comments

is there anything more disgusting than a Republican senator in bipartisan compromise mode? Bloomberg’s anti-gun group starts running ads in Pennsylvania and Pat Toomey folds like a cheap suit. Say the magic words: Bipartisan compromise!

Senators struck a bipartisan deal Wednesday to expand background checks in gun transactions, inflaming the National Rifle Association while drawing support from a growing number of lawmakers. The proposal, drafted by Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), calls for an incremental expansion of NICS background checks for sales at gun shows and over the Internet.

I could think of another magic word, denoting a person who performs fellatio, that would describe Pat Toomey. I mean, we were on the verge of winning this thing — that is to say, the endless anti-gun drumbeat of media noise was becoming tiresome and people were losing interest — and suddenly, because of some TV ads, Toomey crumples. Meanwhile, more bipartisan compromise news:

A bipartisan group of senators has largely agreed on a broad immigration bill that would require tough border measures to be in place before illegal immigrants could take the first steps to become American citizens.

Persons performing fellatio!

And did I mention that a bunch of these Republican fellatio performers had dinner at the White House last night?

Please, somebody, tell me again how important it is to help elect Republicans to the Senate. Because I’m kind of having trouble right now seeing any point in it at all.

Please, somebody, tell me again how important it is to help elect Republicans to anything.

I’m not sure what they mean by “extending background checks to online gun sales.” If you purchase a firearm online it MUST go to a Federal Firearm Licensed dealer which performs the background check before transferring possession.

You can’t just buy a gun online and have it delivered to your home like buying something off Amazon.

I only wish it was that easy.

It’s no coincidence that same-sex “marriage” and amnesty for illegal alien invaders are triumphing at the same time.

Equality is America’s holiest of worship-words. W launched two wars invoking the equality of all people as the justification for his “Global Democratic Revolution.”

So now we’re reaping what we’ve sown.

Right there with you on this one, Stacy.

This bill is incredibly toxic. If you lend a gun to a friend to go shooting on your own property, you violate its transfer provisions.

Your doctor can declare you unfit for gun ownership behind your back and you won’t know it til the cops come to collect your firearms.

But don’t worry, I’m sure Adjoran will be along anytime to explain what a savvy mainstream GOP move this is.

Perhaps Rick-0f-the-Sweater-Vest knew something we didn’t about Toomey. Or is that spelled, Me-too?

This is mostly about creating a social marketplace for gun regulation by Democrat supporting workerbees whose bureaucratic task is to slowly take away 2nd Amendment gun rights. At every mass shooting in a gun-free zone, they’ll say they need more money, more gun free-zones and they’ll pass some new regulations supporting those goals all outside legislative controls. Meanwhile the Ocrats grease the judicial skids with weak assed judges to OK their actions. Nothing to see here, just move along…

A more suitable solution would be to seed creation of a social marketplace with a non-profit organization (NGO) to oversee background checks, outside of goverment. Just proposing such a social marketplace solution would also get the Ocrats all upset, which shows this movement is more about growing the Ogovernment than effective policy.

As is typical, the clueless GOP LOSERship goes right along with Ogovernment nonsense… The GOP LOSERship doesn’t understand social marketplaces all that much. All they care about is solidifying their role as #2 in power.

When a Republican says “bipartisan,” it means the Democrats got everything they wanted…

What is it with Pennsylvania Republican senators and the urge to sell out? Snarlin’ Arlen was an epic failure, and now Pat Toomey has picked up the habit of folding like a cheap suit at the first sign of bad press….

The last paragraph says it all. Everybody caves. Even worse, they go out of their way to attack the few people who are willing to stand up and fight back.
The Democrats will win the House back in 2014 and I don’t give a crap anymore. I’m not going to bother to vote. There’s nobody to vote for.

Hey, I’m the one who defended Santorum for endorsing Specter over Toomey, remember?

But if that’s all you got, well, I can’t say I’m surprised.
