The Curse of Beauty
Posted on | October 14, 2014 | 40 Comments
Her name was Gia Carangi and she was, for a couple of years in the late 1970s, the hottest model in the fashion industry.
Only 18 when she arrived in New York and rocketed to success, appearing on the covers of magazines like Cosmopolitan and Vogue, she was the favorite model of legendary photographer Francesco Scavullo. “I have never known anyone so excitingly free and spontaneous, constantly changing, moving — she’s like photographing a stream of consciousness,” Scavullo raved in 1982.
By then, however, Gia Carangi’s career was nearing its tragic end. Her heroin addiction and erratic, unprofessional behavior had already gotten her blacklisted by many major names in the industry. By 1983, she was finished as a model. By 1986, she was dead.
Her sad story was brought to my attention by a commenter on my earlier post about Cara Delevingne, who is not the first lesbian supermodel — Gia was an open (and very aggressive) lesbian. At 15, she was already going to gay bars in her native Philadelphia:
“Gia just loved women and she fell for them whether they were straight or gay,” says one high school friend. “And the problem was that everyone fell in love with her, whether they were straight or not, male or female. She went after people and she always got them.”
Did you catch that? “The problem was that everyone fell in love with her” — why was this a problem? Isn’t this the kind of “problem” everybody wishes they had? Alas, Gia was a broken soul:
“Gia was prone to needing someone around all the time,” says another of her lovers. “Sometimes it was almost like she needed a baby sitter.”
“I think she mistook caring as sexual,” says one of the many straight women with whom Gia fell in unrequited love. “She needed people so badly that she pushed them away by putting expectations on them they couldn’t possibly fulfill.”
You can read the whole thing, which is full of bitter ironies. For example, Gia took delight in turning down propositions from men — she once turned down Jack Nicholson — but her heroin habit meant she associated with dangerous people in dangerous places:
“There were times in New York when people just took advantage of her. I guess you wouldn’t really call it rape because she wasn’t screaming, but there were a lot of times when that happened and she didn’t want it to happen. Being as high as she was, she couldn’t argue, she didn’t even know what planet she was on. She had a lot of anger about that.”
She turned down movie stars, but a junkie isn’t usually in much of a condition to turn down anything. Gia died of AIDS at age 26.
Is there a moral to the story, other than “stay the hell away from heroin”? Maybe. Probably feminists will find a way to blame Gia’s fate on the patriarchy, because they blame everything on the patriarchy. But I think we have to look at how a blessing can be a burden.
To be one of the most beautiful women in the world — well, how many girls dream of the glamorous life of a famous supermodel? Yet we should not envy the beautiful woman, who is always to some degree trapped by her beauty, and we should not imagine that their beauty exempts them from the tragic dimensions of human life.
Lesbian Supermodel?
Posted on | October 14, 2014 | 68 Comments
Cara Delevingne (@Caradelevingne) is a lesbian. Allegedly, I hasten to add, but this has been the press reaction after the 22-year-old supermodel celebrated “National Coming Out Day”:
She has never commented on her sexuality despite being linked to stars of both sexes — but it appears as if Cara Delevingne is finally ready to open up.
The 22-year-old supermodel — whose last serious relationship was with bisexual actress Michelle Rodriguez — shared a picture of herself wearing a ‘We Are You’ T-shirt in honour of National Coming Out Day and added an enigmatic message.
She wrote: ‘Doesn’t matter who you are or what you believe it, we are one! Go get yourself one of these shirts right now!’
‘I’m late for National Coming Out Day but better late then never. Don’t be scared to be who you are. Please follow @iolovesyou and @selfevidentproject because #WEAREYOU.’
Cara’s message was posted on Monday, two days after National Coming Out Day but her ‘better late than never’ message has been interpreted by some fans to mean she was actually coming out.
Whoa! What the hell is happening here? You’re telling me that with 3.5 billion men on this planet, there’s not one of them interested in dating Cara Delevingne? Or are you telling me that, of these 3.5 billion men, not one of them is good enough for Cara Delevingne? Or are you telling me that Cara Delevingne is hopelessly dysfunctional?
Some background on Cara’s ex-lover, 36-year-old Michelle Rodriguez:
In July 2006, Rodriguez told Cosmopolitan magazine that she is not a lesbian, but had “experimented with both sexes.” In November 2006, her openly bisexual Bloodrayne co-star Kristanna Loken made comments to The Advocate that were widely interpreted by the media as an admission that the two were in a relationship. . . . In June 2007, the lesbian magazine Curve ran a cover story that claimed Rodriguez to be bisexual. . . .
In October 2013, Entertainment Weekly quoted her saying: “I’ve gone both ways. I do as I please. I am too curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks.”
Anyway, after hooking up with the young supermodel, the bisexual Rodriguez then decided Zac Efron was more “intriguing,” but you know what they say: Once you go Rodriguez, you never go back.
So it appears that Cara is now “playing for the other team.”

Gentlemen, this is a crisis for the heteronormative patriarchy.
We could afford to shrug off a few lesbian celebrities — Melissa Etheridge, Jodie Foster, Ellen DeGeneres, etc. — and say, “Who cares?” But when Victoria’s Secret supermodels start deciding they’d rather be having dinner at the All-You-Can-Eat Seafood Buffet? This indicates an existential menace to our male-supremacist franchise.
Oh @Caradelevingne coming out as a lesbian ????????????????????????????????????????????

Obviously, one of you guys is going to have to take one for the team here. Sure, I know, these supermodel types are “difficult,” high-maintenance, prone to dramatic outbursts and emotional instability. But unless and until Cara Delevingne is properly oppressed, she’s going to be causing trouble for Team Hetero. Ask Justin Bieber: Selena Gomez allegedly hooked up with Cara in St. Tropez. And Cara may be making moves on Suki Waterhouse. An international supermodel turned predatory lesbian? Something must be done, and you know what it is.
Patriarchy requires sacrifices, and a conversion/rehab job like this won’t be easy. Cara Delevingne is damaged goods. Heck, she probably doesn’t even know how to make a sandwich. But 5,000 years of worldwide male domination is at stake, and one of you guys has got to do this job. Good luck. Everyone here at Team Hetero headquarters is counting on you.
.@Caradelevingne As spokesman for Team Hetero, I'm authorized to inform you that you're welcome to join us. Just contact our nearest agency.

Lawyer: Convicted Sex Teacher Has ‘Significant Psychological Issues’
Posted on | October 14, 2014 | 87 Comments
Lauren Harrington Cooper, 32, was Exhibit A earlier this year in my argument “that America’s public schools are staffed by sex-crazed perverts.” Every day brings new reports of teachers who cannot restrain their depraved craving for teenage flesh. Ms. Cooper was an English teacher in Pennsylvania whose modus operandi involved giving boys blow jobs in her car. Last month, she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to “9 to 23 months in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, followed by five years of probation.” This quote from a Huffington Post story about her case caught my attention:
In court, Cooper’s lawyer told the judge his client, who is still married, has severe emotional problems.
“She has been diagnosed with some significant psychological issues of inadequacy,” Joe D’Andrea said. “You would think that she’s a pretty, young girl, that she would feel good about herself. But her self-esteem issues have really troubled her all of her life, and she found comfort and solace in some people giving her attention, as wrong as it was.”
In other words, his client — the English teacher who performed oral sex on teenage boys — is not really responsible for her crimes, because of her “issues of inadequacy.” She’s “troubled.” She suffers from a self-esteem deficit, and what she was seeking from these teenage boys was “comfort and solace.” Also, the taste of their semen.
Ms. Cooper was interviewed Friday on ABC’s 20/20:
“I’m glad I got caught,” she told ABC News’ “20/20” exclusively. “I went against what I know is right, and I did wrong. And there is no way to explain that away. I have no defense of myself. I was wrong, plain and simple.”
Her forbidden affairs began after she opened a dance studio in her town with her husband, Raphael Cooper. The new side-business was time-consuming and took a toll on their marriage.
“It turned into more of a business relationship than a marriage,” she said. “With us deteriorating in our marriage and having less and less of a relationship, I didn’t feel attractive. I didn’t feel wanted.”
And so she started sucking on teenage boys. Isn’t that the obvious thing to do, if you don’t “feel attractive,” don’t “feel wanted”? Because your feelings are all that matter, see, and if your marriage is less than fully satisfying in terms of your emotional needs, it is imperative that you do something to make you feel better about yourself, i.e., give a teenage boy a blowjob. Violating every ethical code of your profession? Betraying the trust of taxpayers and parents? That’s OK, because your marriage is unhappy and you don’t “feel wanted.”
But wait, the criminal has more self-serving rationalizations:
“It wasn’t so much that I even needed a physical connection. It was just being able to interact with someone who made me feel valued and worthwhile,” Mrs. Cooper said. “As crazy as this might sound to some people, he’s very intelligent. I could have real conversations with him about real life issues.”
And, as crazy as this might sound to some people, Ms. Cooper’s rationalizations are the same as every pedophile, ever. That is to say, her explanation of her crimes is not really unusual, it’s typical. There is a bright line — very hard to overlook — between your need to “feel valued and worthwhile” and the crimes that will send you to prison. People who cross that line always have an excuse, an explanation for why they did what they did, and this story the criminal tells invariably involves an element of self-pity. The criminal wants to be seen as a victim.
The criminal uses euphemisms (“a physical connection . . . interact with someone”) that have the effect of minimizing her crimes. The plain fact of what the criminal did must be obscured and her perverse motive must be hidden behind psychobabble about the criminal’s emotional needs. Why? Because Ms. Cooper doesn’t want you to see her as what she actually is, a sexual deviant with an appetite for teenage boys.
Law enforcement officials in Pennsylvania are angry about Ms. Cooper’s 20/20 interview. They say she misrepresented her crimes:
In the eyes of Luzerne County investigators, former Wyoming Valley West teacher Lauren Harrington-Cooper lied to the world Friday night in a television interview. . . .
“The bottom line is she pled guilty to all the charges,” said Luzerne County Detective Charles Balogh, the lead detective in the teacher-student sex case that has made headlines around the globe. “She’s not accepting responsibility or guilt for what she did. She accepted the consequences, but doesn’t want to admit to the facts. It doesn’t make sense.” . . .
On the show, Harrington-Cooper said, “I did do wrong, but I’m not a monster,” a comment that drew ire from Balogh.
“I think she is a monster,” Balogh said. “She’s a true predator.” . . .
In addition to Victim No. 1, prosecutors accused Harrington-Cooper of performing oral sex on a 17-year-old boy and sending sexual messages to two other boys, aged 16 and 17. Luzerne County Assistant District Attorney Jenny Roberts, the lead prosecutor in the case, maintains Harrington-Cooper was trying to deny what she did. She said the denials fly in the face of the overwhelming evidence against the former teacher.
“Obviously, she does not want the public to know the extent of what she actually did. But she did admit her guilt in court with a factual basis that covers all four victims,” Roberts said. “I guess she doesn’t want the nation to know the full extent of her crimes.” . . .
While Harrington-Cooper admitted to having sexual encounters with the 18-year-old, she was very deceptive in the interview about how the relationship developed, Balogh and Roberts said.
She told “20/20” that the 18-year-old senior, Victim No. 1, sent her complimentary text messages after getting her cellphone number. His compliments bolstered her sagging self-esteem, she said.
Local investigators say Harrington-Cooper was the one who pursued the teen.
“She blamed Victim No. 1 for chasing her, when, in fact, she was the one who reached out to Victim No. 1 by reaching out to his sister. She provided her cellphone number and said she thinks he’s hot,” Balogh recalled.
The way Roberts interpreted it, Harrington-Cooper was insinuating she was playing “hard to get” when the teen started texting her.
“That’s not what happened at all. There was no playing hard to get,” Roberts said. “She was pursuing him.”
You see the profoundly immature aspect of Ms. Cooper’s personality. She’s already been convicted and sentenced to prison. Yet her narcissistic self-esteem — how she feels about herself — is still controlling how she talks about her crimes. She minimizes and rationalizes and uses esuphemistic language because it would make her feel bad if people thought she was a “monster” who gets her sick thrills by performing oral sex on teenage boys. Perverts like her are everywhere:
- VIRGINIA — A Henrico County art teacher was arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with someone less than 18 years old after an incident at Highland Springs High School.
Police arrested Tessa Monique Hairston, 31, on Friday.
“The charge stems from an inappropriate relationship involving a juvenile male that occurred at Highland Springs High School while Ms. Hairston was employed as a teacher by Henrico County Public Schools,” Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Chris Eley said in an email. - ARKANSAS — A Siloam Springs teacher that was accused of having sex with a student pleaded not guilty on Monday (Oct. 13), officials say.
Mary F. McCormick, 32, was arraigned before Circuit Judge Brad Karren on Monday, accused of raping and exchanging explicit photographs with a 13-year-old boy. - LOUISIANA — Destrehan High School teachers Shelley Dufresne and Rachel Respess were drinking alcohol on the night they engaged in group sex with a 16-year-old student, according to records released Thursday by the Kenner Police Department. . . .
The student, now 17, had told St. Charles Parish sheriff’s deputies that he had sex with the two English teachers at Respess’ apartment in Kenner on Sept. 12. That was a Friday, the night of the Destrehan Wildcats-Helen Cox Cougars football game. - CONNECTICUT — Stamford High School Donna Valentine and assistant principal Roth Nordin have been charged with not reporting an alleged sexual relationship between a teacher and student.
Police say English teacher Danielle Watkins, 32, had sexual relationship with the 18-year-old student for about 10 months. Police also say Watkins assaulted the student when he tried to end the relationship. Watkins is also accused of selling marijuana to the 18-year-old and a second 15-year-old student. - VIRGINIA — Erica Lynne Mesa, 27, a geometry teacher and freshman volleyball coach at Colonial Forge High School, “admitted to police of having sexual relations with at least four students,” according to court documents.
Mesa is charged with three counts of custodial indecent liberties and three counts of using a computer to solicit a minor. She was arrested Sept. 29. Detective Sgt. Chris Cameron wrote in affidavits for search warrants that the incidents started in 2012 and continued up until a week before her arrest. Court records list the students’ ages as ranging from 16 to 18. - TEXAS — During the 2013-2014 school year, five teachers at Permian High School were charged with sexually molesting students. In May, Alisha Carrasco Knighten, a 25-year-old assistant softball coach and a junior high physical education teacher, resigned amid rumors of an inappropriate relationship with a female student (she was subsequently indicted). A week after Knighten resigned, another teacher Mark Lampman, 47, committed suicide after resigning amid allegations that he had sex with a student.
They all had some “self-esteem issues,” I’m sure.

The Redskins Should Hire Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly As A Spokesman

We live in the age of Tedious Lefty Assault (TLA). If it isn’t the #WarOnWomen, our self-appointed elite are on our cases about Global Anthropogenic Climate Disruption Change Warming, or even more piffle-icious crap like the WarOnTheRedskins. I guess it’s easier than doing honest economic reporting.
So the President of the Navajo Nation sat with the Redskins owner at a game, prompting this blog’s Advertising Department to come up with some suggested copy, should Shelly be hired as a spokesman for the ‘Skins:
“Sometimes the foolish undertakers,
Sitting triumphally, feeling über-hip,
Sharing that frivolity unearned,
Should take five, utilizing
Silence to foment understanding.”

Incest, Witchcraft and Other Forms of ‘Moral Progress,’ Ancient and Modern

Jesse Bering (@JesseBering) proclaimed that legalizing incest between adult siblings is “moral progress” Thursday at Huffington Post and the remarkable thing is that almost nobody noticed. Just another “expert” endorsing our society’s rapid descent into perverse decadence:
“I suppose I take an unpopular view that it’s actually moral progress,” Jesse Bering, who is the author of Perv: The Sexual Deviant In All Of Us, told HuffPost Live’s Josh Zepps. “There are certain caveats that we need to include with our analysis of whether incest is wrong or right, but for me, the biggest point is a matter of harm.”
After Zepps pointed to Elijah and Milo Peters, two Czech-born brothers who have performed in gay adult scenes with each other, Bering noted, “The fact that they’re violating this… taboo notion of your brother or your sister being completely off-limits from a sexual perspective, I think, attracts… a large contingency of the viewing public.”
See, it’s democratic: Because an expert says there is “a large contingency of the viewing public” that wants to watch twin brothers have gay sex with each other, who are we to say no? However, if we put it to a vote, and a majority of people said no, then we’d get a lot of lectures about our hateful bigotry — incestophobia! — until a 5-4 majority of the Supreme Court issued its ruling overturning all laws against incest.
Notice that tolerance is a one-way street and it’s always straight downhill? That’s because our decadent elite are doing everything they can to destroy our nation. “Progress” is a highway, paved with good intentions, and its destination is the gates of Hell. Speaking of which, in my earlier mega-post about feminist Andrea Dworkin — who in 1974 said it was “essential” to abolish the incest taboo — I mentioned how Dworkin asserted that 9 million (that’s NINE ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO) witches were killed during three centuries. This “gynocide,” as Dworkin called it, was offered as proof of how the Christian church persecuted innocent women. And, as usual when feminist offer statistics to “prove” their point, Dworkin was totally wrong:
Since witches were women, it’s surely a feminist issue? Popular knowledge of the ‘Burning Times’ owes a lot to our vision of witches as prototype feminists, as the ultimate martyrs to male domination. It was patriarchy gone mad — a time when women were burnt just for being women.
Adding academic fuel to the pyre was the blossoming of witchcraft studies during the second wave of feminism in the sixties and seventies. . . .
Soon angry cries were raised of nine million women killed — a gynocide! . . .
You may be surprised to discover for a start that witches were not burnt in England and around 25% of those executed (in Europe and North America) were male, a figure rising to 70-80% in areas such as Finland and Russia. . . . Most scholars now agree that around 40,000 men and women lost their lives in a period roughly between 1450-1800.
So, 40,000 accused witches were killed, not 9,000,000?
Let me check my calculator.
Andrea Dworkin only exaggerated by a factor of 225-to-1.
A minor math error, compared to calling incest “progress.”
YUCK FACTOR: HuffPo 'expert' @JesseBering calls incest 'moral progress'? http://t.co/cABhaGEuOF #tcot
