Sen. Lindsey Graham May Try Out New Look To Fend Off Tea Party Challenger

Posted on | August 3, 2013 | 61 Comments

by Smitty

Let’s face it: life is tough in RINO-land, and the growing backlash against political deadwood cannot be denied. The Blaze reports:

It’s official: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will face a Tea Party challenger in 2014.
A spokesperson for Republican Nancy Mace, who is already being billed as a Tea Party favorite, confirmed to TheBlaze on Thursday that she plans to challenge Graham for his Senate seat in the 2014 Republican primary. She plans to make a “special announcement” about her run at the Berkeley County GOP Breakfast on Saturday.
The spokesperson said the campaign will be releasing more information and Mace will be doing interviews following the formal announcement.

Meanwhile, Sissypuss the Blog Kitty, disguised as a mole, and infiltrating Graham’s inner circle, discovers that androgyny is the new black among political fashion strategists:
Can an avant-garde makeover get Lindsey where he wants to go? On a non-Saturday night? Stay tuned.

In Which the Untalented @AndOHehir Gets Owned by @AceOfSpadesHQ

Some liberal motifs are perennial:

When God and Man at Yale was published in 1951, liberals denounced Buckley as a fanatic and worse. One hostile reviewer accused him of “un-Christian arrogance,” while another said that Buckley’s book had “the glow and appeal of a fiery cross on a hillside at night.”

From a 2010 Andrew O’Hehir “movie review” at Salon.com:

“Secretariat” is such a gorgeous film, its every shot and every scene so infused with warm golden light, that I began to wonder whether the movie theater were on fire. Or my head. But the welcoming glow that imbues every corner of this nostalgic horse-racing yarn with rich, lambent color comes from within, as if the movie itself is ablaze with its own crazy sense of purpose. (Or as if someone just off-screen were burning a cross on the lawn.) I enjoyed it immensely, flat-footed dialogue and implausible situations and all. Which doesn’t stop me from believing that in its totality “Secretariat” is a work of creepy, half-hilarious master-race propaganda almost worthy of Leni Riefenstahl, and all the more effective because it presents as a family-friendly yarn about a nice lady and her horse.

Who is Andrew O’Hehir and why should we care? Well, he’s a lousy movie critic who is obsessed with the kind of political themes that you find in a Lawrence O’Donnell rant, and the two phenomena are related, obviously. There are lousy movie critics who are liberal, and good movie critics who are liberal, and then there are untalented assclowns like Andrew O’Hehir who attempt to substitute politics for ability. That is to say, they are employed by liberal publications not because they are good writers, but because they are liberals and, in the case of Andrew O’Hehir, that means he doesn’t actually review movies, as such. Instead, he reviews the politics of movies.

It’s redolent of the soul-destroying party-line conformity that you thought died with Stalin — “How does this movie advance the revolutionary struggle of the proletariat?” –– except Andrew O’Hehir does this and think he’s being avant-garde. Anyway . . .

For reasons unknown, Salon decided that they would let Andrew O’Hehir write an article about how the bankruptcy of Detroit is the fault of right-wing Republican racists. This in turn inspired Ace of Spades to ponder the question, “Who the fuck is Andrew O’Hehir?”

Nailed it again. I’m gonna just call this guy “The Nailgun” because he nails everything in sight.

Read the whole brutal thing.

Can @Karoli Block the Entire Internet?

Posted on | August 2, 2013 | 51 Comments

It’s always funny to watch liberals attempting to think. Of course, if they were rational, they wouldn’t be liberals, and so when you deal with someone like Karoli Kuns, it’s kind of like peeling an onion of error: One layer of mistakes, and under that a layer of lies, and when you peel that away, there’s a layer of crazy. Et cetera, ad infinitum.

So last week, while Anthony Weiner was melting down and the Democrat-Media Complex was on its “phony scandals” crusade, David Corn of Mother Jones decided that it was a real scandal for conservatives to have a weekly meeting and an e-mail list. Some of the usual suspects accused me of being up to my neck in this alleged scandal — meetings! e-mails! shocking!an accusation that inspired much sarcastic fun: If there’s a shadowy sinister conspiracy of Influential Conservatives, certainly I’d be crazy to deny being involved, but I ain’t confirming it, either, so as to inspire as much paranoid theorizing as possible.

Just call me Mister Big.

OK, so a lot of stuff was going on the past week that had nothing to do with either “Groundswell” or Karoli Kuns, but she’s too stupid to understand this. Monday, I attended a hearing in the Kimberlin v. Kimberlin case, and reported on Tetyana Kimberlin’s accusation that  her estranged husband Brett Kimberlin brought her from Ukraine to the U.S. in 1996 to have sex with her when she was only 15.

A couple days later, after Tetyana had been granted a protective order against convicted felon Brett Kimberlin — she fears for her life — and after Brett’s buddy Craig Gillette was exposed as having a child pornography conviction, I noticed Neal Rauhauser’s buddy Matt Osborne derogating my “journalistic integrity.” That required me to respond at substantial length. And then I noticed Osborne chatting on Twitter with Karoli Kuns, which inspired last night’s reminder of what a vile lie peddler Karoli Kuns is. You following me so far?

For the past year, Matt Osborne and Karoli Kuns have been part of an effort to protect convicted felon Brett Kimberlin, by pushing the meme that there isn’t really a story there, that Kimberlin is either so harmless or so obscure that no one should pay attention to those “right wing nut jobs” trying to call attention to the harassment of bloggers who write the truth about Brett Kimberlin. Echoing their buddy Neal Rauhauser, Osborne and Kuns promote the idea that either (a) this is a conspiracy by “Breitbots” or (b) Kimberlin’s critics are so evil they deserve to be harassed, or most often, (c) both.

What they are doing is wrong, because there is no “other side of the story” to the reprehensible evil that is Brett Kimberlin: Just read Mandy “Liberty Chick” Nagy’s 3,600-word exposé of Kimberlin’s criminal background, “Progressives Embrace Convicted Terrorist,” and then read about Julia Scyphers and Carl DeLong.

As I tried to explain to Monica Hesse, those who fail to tell the truth about Brett Kimberlin are in effect enabling Brett Kimberlin, and thereby are de facto accomplices in the harassment of Aaron Walker, Patrick “Patterico” Frey, Lee Stranahan and others on Kimberlin’s Enemies List, a list that now include his estranged wife Tetyana.

Do all of these people deserve to be harassed by a convicted felon who is the director of a 501(c)3 non-profit “progressive” foundation? Did Julia Scyphers and Carl DeLong deserve it, too?

Excuse me if I believe that Matt Osborne and Karoli Kuns, by making themselves apologists for Brett Kimberlin, by attacking Brett Kimberlin’s critics, and thereby discouraging mainstream media attention to this story, have made themselves willing agents of evil.

And yet Karoli Kuns is either so stupid or dishonest (take your pick) as to claim that it’s her “reporting” about Groundswell that inspired me to say that all honest and decent people have contempt for her.

She hasn’t done a damned thing about Groundswell to which anybody has paid any attention outside her own little corner of the conspiracy-theory left-wing fringe. Karoli Kuns has merely been recycling bits and pieces from David Corn’s week-old report about something that is a “scandal” only in the sense that David Corn thinks that conservatives talking to other conservatives —  meetings! e-mails! shocking! — is a scandal.

Mountains, molehills, some assembly required.

As is typical, Karoli Kuns is either deliberately lying or stupidly mistaken and, frankly, I don’t care which it is, because she’s abetting evil either way. And now she’s threatening to block anyone on Twitter who disturbs her in her evil and dishonest pursuits:

Please tell Karoli Kuns the truth about Brett Kimberlin, so she’ll block you, because everyone should crave the honor of being blocked by Karoli Kuns, who is still peddling vile lies.

Dammit, @CalebHowe, Get Better! UPDATE: Let’s Make It $30,000 Tonight

Posted on | August 2, 2013 | 52 Comments

You’re pissing me off here, Caleb. There’s no sick leave in the blogosphere, and this “going to the hospital” stuff is not allowed. Besides, quite honestly, I can’t handle the stress. Being a middle-aged blogger — “middle-aged,” if the life expectancy of a two-pack-a-day smoker is 106 — has become increasingly stressful.

First Andrew Breitbart died at 43, then Chip Gerdes died at 42, and the sense of living on borrowed time is really starting to get on my nerves. Besides all the stress problems you’re causing, Caleb, those of us who survive by rattling the tip jar are praying for you to have a miraculous sudden recovery, because:

  1. Otherwise, we’ll be stuck with your brother Ben, and we’ve never liked him as much as we like you;
    and
  2. Until you get better, we’ll feel vaguely guilty about asking readers to have pity on our pathetic needs.

There are too many pompous liberal douchebags who still need you to mock them, Caleb. And there are too many RINO sellouts who need to be exposed and driven into the oblivion of disgraced exile.

All this lollygagging around in the hospital, with the nurses giving you sponge baths? Not allowed. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

So I just contributed $20 to “Caleb’s Girls Fund,” and I’m telling all my readers to give as much as they can — $10, $20, $100, whatever — because this liver disease you’ve got is really bad for you, but I’m just getting too damned old to be dealing with all this stress.

GIVE NOW to CALEB’S GIRLS FUND!

UPDATE: As of 4 p.m., the fund was at $27,624 from 563 donors, an average donation of $49.97. The original goal was $25,000, which was raised in three days, but there’s no reason in the world it shouldn’t be $30,000 or $40,000 by Monday. This pisses me off because, really, it should never come to this.

Somebody on Twitter said “charity,” well, charity, my ass!

In the 2012 election cycle, the top 5 GOP conservative super-PACS raised $336.9 million, a lot of which went straight into the pockets of consultants, or was spent on lame-ass TV commercials that did little or nothing in terms of moving the needle of public opinion.

If you took just 10% of that super-PAC total ($33.4 million), you could pay 500 bloggers more than $67,000 a year.

Ask yourself if 500 Caleb Howes wouldn’t be more valuable than a bunch of consultants collecting fat commissions. I repeat: Charity, my ass.

Larry O’Connor himself gave $500, but the key to a crowdsourced fund drive is lots of small donations — lots of people giving $10, $20, $50 — because everybody can afford that. Hell, if I could give $20, a damned streetcorner hobo could panhandle up $5, y’know?

GIVE NOW to CALEB’S GIRLS FUND!

‘Cracker!’ Says Mendacious Swindler Charlie Rangel, Who Should Be in Prison

Posted on | August 2, 2013 | 64 Comments

Behold, the antonym of honesty speaks!

In an interview with the Daily Beast published Friday, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested Tea Partiers are the “same group” who fought for segregation during the Civil Rights movement. “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked,” Rangel said.

Every time Charlie Rangel opens his mouth, remember that the only time his name ever appeared in the same sentence with the word “ethics” was when he was censured by the House Ethics Committee:

Rangel was found guilty by the ethics panel of 11 counts of violating ethics rules, including charges that he improperly solicited millions of dollars from corporate officials and lobbyists for the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at City College of New York, failed to disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars of income and assets on financial disclosure forms, maintained a rent-stabilized apartment as a campaign office in a Harlem apartment building and failed to pay income taxes on a villa in the Dominican Republic.

If he weren’t in Congress, he would be in federal prison, which is basically true of every Democrat, but Charlie Rangel is so crooked, even Democrats can’t deny it (and they lie about everything).

You could call him a “thief,” but that would be an insult to thieves.

Democrat Agenda for Women: Abortion and Also, Getting Groped by Bob Filner

Posted on | August 2, 2013 | 61 Comments

Oh, sure, they’ve got some language in there about “equality,” education, health care, yadda, yadda, yadda, but when it’s time to get down to business, there are only two things that liberal women care about — killing babies and getting felt up by skeezy Democrat perverts:

A ninth woman has emerged to accuse San Diego Mayor Bob Filner (D) of sexual harassment. . . .

(There would be 10 of them by now, but at least one woman had enough sense to run the moment she laid eyes on that creep.)

Emily Gilbert, who was hired to sing at a fundraiser days after Filner took office in December, told Fox5 that Filner grabbed her inappropriately at the event.

(Is there an “appropriate” way to grab a singer?)

“He grabbed me a little too tight, then proceeded to slide his hand down my arm and then did a little grab on my derriere,” Gilbert said. “I didn’t want to make a scene, there were kids around.”

(“There were kids around” — getting a free sex-education lesson from the mayor. “Vote Filner: It’s for the Children!”)

Eight other women have alleged Filner sexually harassed. One, his former communications director, is suing Filner and the city of San Diego.

(An interesting sort of welfare: Vote Democrat; Democrats molest women; women sue the city; taxpayers are forced to pay the bill.)

Filner, a former member of Congress, has said the city failed to provide state-required sexual harassment training, though a contradicting report states that Filner’s office cancelled the session.

(Oh, this is rich: “Harassment? How was I to know that groping women was wrong? I didn’t have sexual harassment training!”)

Several lawmakers on Capitol Hill have slammed Filner’s behavior. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had the harshest words, calling the mayor’s actions “reprehensible” and “disrespectful of women.”

(It’s “reprehensible,” as opposed to stabbing babies in the head, which is a “right” all Democrats are sworn to defend.)

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) called on Filner to resign.
“The misconduct Mayor Bob Filner has been accused of is reprehensible and indefensible,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement. “I am personally offended by his actions and I firmly believe no employee should face a hostile environment or harassment at their place of employment.”

Of course, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz knew all along what a lecherous creep Bob Filner is. It wasn’t exactly a secret on Capitol Hill, but as long as Bob Filner had a “D” beside his name and was willing to vote for the Democrat agenda (i.e., stabbing babies in the head), Wasserman-Schultz was willing to help elect and re-elect him, until the “misconduct,” by which she means, getting caught.

If you ever see a Democrat heading toward you, ladies — RUN!
