Has Bill Schmalfeldt Forgotten?
Posted on | June 17, 2013 | 30 Comments
Aaron Walker points out something about Bill Schmalfeldt’s harassment that had escaped my notice: When Schmalfeldt first began cyberstalking Walker, on June 3, 2012, it was only four days after Brett Kimberlin had gotten Walker arrested at a Maryland court hearing.
The judge at that Maryland hearing had ordered Walker not to write anything about Brett Kimberlin, and yet here was Schmalfeldt on Twitter, interrogating Walker about Kimberlin — as if attempting to bait Walker into violating the (soon-to-be-overturned) court order.
Maybe that was just a coincidence, eh?
Aaron also quotes at length some of Schmalfeldt’s symptomatic ravings. Any psychologist would note Schmalfedlt’s inability to accept responsibility for his own failures, and his habit of blaming all his problems on demonized scapegoats. Persistently ignoring the wrongs he has committed, he makes accusations of wrongdoing against others as justifying further sadistic harassment of his chosen enemies.
The clear evidence of Schmalfeldt’s madness, however, does not rule out the possibility that he has also been manipulated into joining an orchestrated campaign to harass Aaron Walker and other of Brett Kimberlin’s enemies. But at this late point in his descent into abject lunacy, I’m not sure that Schmalfeldt still retains enough of his mental faculties to remember what he has done or why he did it.

Edward Snowden: Paranoid Goofball or America-Hating Douchebag?
Posted on | June 17, 2013 | 23 Comments
Stephen Kruiser is right: The “hero-or-traitor” debate is becoming tedious. At this point, let’s move on the question of exactly how the hell a flaky weirdo like Ed Snowden got top-secret clearance:
During an online discussion Monday, the man who leaked hundreds of pages of classified documents about the National Security Agency‘s surveillance program accused the U.S. government of “nakedly, aggressively criminal acts” and said he fled to Hong Kong because American authorities would prevent him from getting a fair trial.
Edward Snowden, who came forward June 9 to identify him as the source of the NSA leaks, also denounced President Obama for preventing investigations of “systemic violations of law,” and suggested the U.S. government might try “to cover this up by jailing or murdering me.” …
In his online Q-and-A hosted by the British Guardian newspaper, Snowden said U.S. officials are lying about government surveillance programs. ”Seeing someone in the position of James Clapper — the Director of National Intelligence — baldly lying to the public without repercussion is the evidence of a subverted democracy,” Snowden said. “The consent of the governed is not consent if it is not informed.”
Right: Don’t trust the president. Don’t trust Gen. Clapper.
Don’t trust America’s “subverted democracy.”
Let’s trust “Wolfking Awesomefox” instead.
If We ‘Create Education Better,’ People Might Learn the Wage Gap Is a Myth
Posted on | June 17, 2013 | 14 Comments
Everybody is laughing at Miss Utah, Marissa Powell, for her stumbling answer to a Miss USA pageant question, but no one seems to have pointed out that the question, asked by reality-TV personality NeNe Leakes, was based on a persistent feminist fallacy:
“A recent report shows that in 40 percent of American families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less than men. What does it say about society?”
Well, for that matter, I “continue to earn less than” reality-TV stars, but the claim that this says anything “about society” — i.e., the feminist myth that the so-called “wage gap” is a product of sexist discrimination — falls apart under critical scrutiny. In fact, when you control for such factors as time on the job and educational background, so that you’re comparing apples to apples, practically the entire earning differential between men and women disappears. As economist Andrew Biggs of the American Enterprise Institute observed last year, “common perceptions of the gender pay gap” are ” vastly exaggerated”:
The fault lies mainly with the press, who irresponsibly assert massive gender pay discrimination that doesn’t truly exist.
As for the now famous answer by Marissa Powell:
You haters can go “create education better” if you want. We’re just going to look at Miss Utah in her bikini.
Bad answers get more Web traffic, so Marissa Powell @RealMissUTusa is the REAL winner! http://t.co/yklP2Ezi0A #tcot

A Few Words About The FMJRA
Posted on | June 17, 2013 | 34 Comments
— by Wombat-socho
People get confused and angry about how the FMJRA works now and again, so I thought I’d take a couple minutes here and explain how I do this, for the benefit of people who haven’t figured it out on their own and/or want to know more so they can get whatever ego boost and additional traffic come from being the A-Number One Top Linker for the week here at The Other McCain.
I. Except on rare occasions when I’m too sick/distracted/deranged to handle it*, the FMJRA is my bailiwick. Whining to Stacy or Smitty will get you nowhere. Don’t whine to me either. I hate whining.
Secondly, the FMJRA is driven by a couple of reports that WordPress generates. Unfortunately, WordPress occasionally misses links from other WP and TypePad blogs, and completely ignores Blogger. So if you’re linking up a storm but not seeing your links in the FMJRA, you may want to keep track of your links in a text file and send them to me by midnight Friday so I can include you in the Great List of Links. I refer to this approach as “doing it the hard way”, because it requires some effort, as opposed to letting WordPress do all the work for you.
2A. No links to Tweets, Facebook posts, LJ entries or anything else that doesn’t have theothermccain.com in its URL. None of these will be counted. No exceptions.
2B. As a corollary to Rule 2, no links to posts before the previous Saturday will be counted. For example, if you send in your links this Friday with some links to posts from last week (ending June 14) those links will not be counted.
C. Please do not confuse Rule 5 links with the FMJRA. Sending your links to the wrong mailbox makes the wombat sad.
C(2). If you are going to submit FMJRA links via e-mail, for the love of Christ PLEASE do not mail-bomb me with a separate e-mail for each link or post; collect them into one big e-mail instead. Mailbombing makes the wombat angry and prone to deprive you of your linkagery, as EBL can attest.
IV. Click on the Amazon ads at the bottom of the FMJRA and buy stuff. Help keep the Gruel Fund stocked and the Diet Coke Keg well filled! Also, hit the freaking tip jar! Only with your help can we beat back the Godless Commie Hordes and preserve our purity of essence, only to ruin it again every week with Soylent Green‘s Rule 5 links.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion and makes your job of submitting links easier. Remember, more links = more traffic = happy bloggers.
DO IT.
*On those rare occasions, the FMJRA returns to the capable hands of the Admiral of the Afghan Seas, whose duty it once was to compile this mess before the arrival of the World’s Youngest Blogger.
A Psychosis Called ‘Equality’

The fanatical conceptions of ideologues inspire madness. Last night, a certain devotee of the “Free Kate” crusade went on a Twitter spree, a few samples of which I share for your amusement:
Oh, look: An advocate of "equality" https://t.co/eezV1rZdsk hurling a familiar epithet at @michellemalkin — you stay classy, progressives!

I’d like to embed “Jessica Naomi’s” Tweets directly, but after getting up in my timeline to attack me, “Jessica Naomi” blocked me.
And imagine the chagrin of “Jessica Naomi’s” LGBT friends when they discover that, in fact, “Jessica Naomi” is a 48-year-old straight guy who’s just really into watching teenage lesbians on video.
UPDATE: The creature’s tweets:
@jinx_mchue I have a word for #MichelleMalkin #AnchorBaby

Greetings from Verizon country, where home internet service has become somewhat less reliable than a 1960s FIAT…anyway, this is where the standard disclaimer about NSFW pictures behind the links goes. Don’t say you weren’t warned if you wind up in hot water for opening the links where you shouldn’t.
