Shorter Gingrich: ‘Benghazi Fertilizer On Collision Course With The Air Circulator’
Posted on | October 31, 2012 | 23 Comments
by Smitty
“There is a rumor — I want to be clear, it’s a rumor — that at least two networks have emails from the National Security Adviser’s office telling a counterterrorism group to stand down,” Gingrich said. “But they were a group in real-time trying to mobilize marines and C-130s and the fighter aircraft, and they were told explicitly by the White House stand down and do nothing. This is not a terrorist action. If that is true, and I’ve been told this by a fairly reliable U.S. senator, if that is true and comes out, I think it raises enormous questions about the president’s role, and Tom Donilon, the National Security Adviser’s role, the Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, who has taken it on his own shoulders, that he said don’t go. And that is, I think, very dubious, given that the president said he had instructions they are supposed to do everything they could to secure American personnel.”
By next Tuesday, anybody still deciding to vote for #OccupyResoluteDesk shall have achieved ‘dishonorable chump’ status.
For a special twist, I hope there is an unveiling of the emails from a big manila envelope marked ‘Sealed Court Records’. This adds no value whatsoever to the information; it’s just that #OccupyResoluteDesk deserves to have all his perfidy rubbed in his smug face both now, and for decades to come.

FROM OHIO: GROUND GAME REPORT
Posted on | October 30, 2012 | 59 Comments
George and Rosemary Cullen of Clermont County, Ohio
CINCINNATI, Ohio
For the past two days, Ali Akbar and I have been talking to Americans for Prosperity about their grassroots organizing effort here in Ohio. We visited their Columbus office Monday night, talked today to AFP’s Ohio state policy director, Seth Morgan, and drove down here to Cincinnati where they hosted a jam-packed meeting — standing room only — at the Eastgate Holiday Inn. I saw a post by Ace of Spades talking about the Ohio polls, which inspired me to send a few Tweets about what it looks like on the ground here:
HUGE turnout for AFP event in Cincinnati! Room filled to overflowing, standing room only. @afpohio is fired up! #tcot
— Robert Stacy McCain (@rsmccain) October 30, 2012
Anyone expecting Obama to win Ohio on the strength of ground game is in for a rude shock Nov. 6. @ali @aceofspadeshq
— Robert Stacy McCain (@rsmccain) October 30, 2012
Just talked to ground troops here. One guy knocked on 25 doors yesterday in the storm — 40 degrees, wind and rain. @ali @aceofspadeshq
— Robert Stacy McCain (@rsmccain) October 30, 2012
Folks, there is going to be a turnout effort in Ohio like you’ve never seen. George Cullen has been canvassing door-to-door for the past five weeks. He usually hits about 50 doors a day, but only got 25 under the storm conditions yesterday. He’s a West Point graduate who served six years in the Army, and he says, “The conservatives are very energized.”
George is canvassing for the Republican Party. He was at the AFP meeting here with his wife, Rosemary, who will be volunteering on phone banks with AFP. Remember that the organizing push from AFP — which is actually what is known as “voter education” — is in addition to the official Republican get-out-the-vote operation.
This is my third trip to Ohio. I was here in August right after Paul Ryan was announced as the vice-presidential choice, and came back again in late September, when some polls claimed that Obama was leading by 10 points. With a week to go, I believe Romney’s momentum is still increasing, and I think the polls are substantially underestimating how much difference this fired-up grassroots effort can make.
UPDATE (Smitty): Welcome, Instapundit readers!
UPDATE II: Ann Romney is coming to town Wednesday morning for a Victory Rally in Hamilton.
AFP will bring Fred Thompson to Ohio for three events Thursday. You should follow AFP Ohio on Twitter for updates on their grassroots efforts in this crucial battleground state.
UPDATE III: Becca Lower has a report on the AFP event.

‘Benghazi Story’, A Tea Party Protest

Retired General Norwood gathers some Tea Partiers in Florida to protest CBS 10, demanding the media do their jobs and investigate the Benghazi attack:
Barack Obama had better hope he loses next Tuesday. You can’t sit behind the Resolute Desk with this much albatross hanging from your neck.

Ladd Ehlinger, Jr. Hanging It Up?

The latest Ladd Ehlinger continues to delight:
It’s with sadness that I read his retirement post there. His edgy work put a great deal of zip into the often boring political discourse, while keeping it rational. Unfortunately, it sounds like the effort to make things boring and predictable has filtered out true creative genius. This is a shame. Ladd has probably forgotten more about the craft of making a movie than I know.

Raaaaacist, Sexist Republican Cuts Ad For Female Minority Candidate In Utah

You can tell the depth and vigor of a candidate’s commitment to Thought Crime by their willingness to compensate for their perfidy:
See how a candidate papers over his misogyny and xenophobia with kind words? Don’t believe your lying eyes and ears. Listen to what Uncle Dave Axelrod says: Republicans hate all non-rich, white, suburban people. All this talk of balanced budgets is just thinly-veiled raaaaacism. Just keep calm, carry on smartly, and stay on the plantation.

Mark October 30 on Your Calendar: Democrat Panic Hits Pandemic Stage
Posted on | October 30, 2012 | 48 Comments
COLUMBUS, Ohio
This will be seen in retrospect as the day liberals began to realize that Obama was going to lose the election, the day The Great Wall of Denial (erected by Nate Silver and the Democrat Graveyard Whistling Choir) proved itself too weak to withstand an encounter with reality.
Yesterday, Jim Messina called the Romney super-PAC’s ad buy in Pennsylvania “desperate.”
Today? Yeah, Obama’s buying ads in Pennsylvania.
Does this mean Romney is going to win Pennsylvania? No, but it does mean that it’s close enough that Team Obama couldn’t afford to let Romney air ads unopposed in Pennsylvania. And this news, coming just four days after it was reported that Team Obama is buying ads in Minnesota, is the best indication that Democrat insiders know that the president’s re-election is seriously endangered.
Liberals may be stupid, but they’re not so stupid they can’t understand what John Nolte’s headline means:
GALLUP: Romney Up 52-45% Among Early Voters
Dude. If Romney’s leading by SEVEN FREAKING POINTS in the early vote — and also leading by six points among voters who tell Gallup they plan to vote on Election Day, Nov. 6 — there is no way that Nate Silver can continue gazing at his Magic Forecasting Model™ and seeing a 72.9% chance of Obama being re-elected. He may continue telling that to his readers, but Nate cannot actually believe that.
UPDATE: Who’s been telling you about the “War on Coal“? Yeah, and here’s the Romney ad in Pennsylvania:
Here’s Mark Halperin on MSNBC, grudgingly admitting what the situation in Pennsylvania really means:
If Obama was winning, he could afford to ignore the Romney play in Minnesota and Pennsylvania. But . . . Obama isn’t winning.
