Warren ‘Got Her Fake Native American Ass Handed to Her’ by Brown in Debate
Posted on | September 21, 2012 | 3 Comments
So says Aleister at American Glob, admitting that his judgment is perhaps not entirely objective. Da Tech Guy was less sanguine:
This debate was pretty much a wash, I think that helps Warren because of her slight lead. When a great part of your appeal is likability a debate that makes you want to throw rocks at the screen is bad, that could hurt, Scott Brown.
Dan Riehl highlights this excerpt from the Boston Herald:
Sen. Scott Brown immediately targeted Elizabeth Warren’s purported Native American heritage in a heated exchange that kicked off their first debate, saying she “checked the box,” as a minority when “clearly she’s not.”
“The only way to set the record straight is to release your personnel records … and you refuse to release your records, and I think that speaks volumes,” said Brown, who questioned whether Warren received advantages when she identified herself as a minority on law school directories.
He said the story of Warren’s lineage goes to her character
Professor William Jacobson at Legal Insurrection provides an extensive analysis, concluding:
[T]rying to be as neutral as I can, I think Brown helped himself tonight. It wasn’t a knockout, but he won easily on points because Warren needed to demonize him, and he came across as he always comes across, as a regular guy the people can relate to.

Joe Biden has a bumper-sticker phrase to justify reelecting the president: “Bin Laden is dead, and GM is alive.” Some, such as former Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm, doubled down on the demagoguery during the Democratic National Convention, declaring that Barack Obama saved not just General Motors, but the auto industry itself. But is it really true that were it not for the president, there would be no American auto industry?
Read the whole thing, forward it to the ignorant Lefties in your life. My main Lefty completely ceased speaking to me, as it was “requiring her to bend too much to maintain our friendship.” (?)
Back on topic, here is a joke:
Q: What is the difference between government intervention in markets and shooting tequila?
A: I don’t know, either. Maybe you’re more likely to run out of tequila before exhausting interest in government intervention.
Irrespective of the outcome of the election, it’s going to be a bumpy ride for the next decade(s). Rediscovering sober truth is crucial to any likelihood of success.

Fast and Furious — in Libya?
Posted on | September 20, 2012 | 6 Comments
Dan Collins is just askin’ questions:
So, eyewitnesses are saying that not only wasn’t the movie the cause of the attack, but that there wasn’t any protest of the movie prior to the attack. Suspicion now falls on an al-Qaeda operative who was sent from Gitmo to Gaddafi in 2007, after Gaddafi agreed to keep him jailed. Instead, Gaddafi released Sufyan Ben Qumu to appease Islamists in 2008. When Congress was considering Obama’s strategy of engaging with the anti-Gaddafi rebels, NATO told them that there were al-Qaeda among those rebels . . .
What this means is that the primary target might not have been Christopher Stevens*, but rather retired Navy SEAL Glen Doherty, who was tasked with trying to get shoulder launched anti-aircraft missiles out of the hands of militants. And it also prompts the question, “Who supplied those armaments?”
I’m not saying that the administration did. It would have been madness for them to have supplied shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles to rebels among whom were elements of al-Qaeda when US was engaged in enforcing a no-fly zone in Libya, in order to help those rebels get rid of Gaddafi. Still, given the variety of very obvious lies we’ve been fed by this administration, and given its fecklessness on other occasions, it seems to me within the realm of possibility.
Read the whole thing, because I think Dan’s definitely onto something here, and I’ll go him one further: It is not necessary for the U.S. to have directly supplied the weapons in order for the administration to be at fault for having indirectly supplied the weapons:
- U.S. supports rebels.
- Rebels capture weapons from Libyan military.
- Rebels use captured weapons to kill Americans.
It’s not exactly like shipping weapons to Mexican drug lords, but still the word “feckless” comes to mind. I mean, hey, let’s help some ragtag desert savages to overthrow their dictator, despite warnings that there are al-Qaeda terrorists among these ragtag savages — what could possibly go wrong?

Obama Talking Point: ‘Opportunistic’
Posted on | September 20, 2012 | 20 Comments
“The best information we have now, the facts that we have now, indicate that this was an opportunistic attack.”
— Matt Olsen, head of the U.S. National Counter-Terrorism Center, testifying to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee
“President Barack Obama said he thinks Muslim protests against Western criticism of Islam are ‘natural.’
” ‘The natural protests that arose because of the video… were used as an excuse by extremists,’ Obama said during an hour-long town-hall interview on the Spanish-language Univision channel.”
— Daily Caller via AOSHQ
Finally, a punchline to the sick joke of Obama’s foreign policy. After the Idiot Ambassador Susan Rice was all over TV Sunday insisting that the deadly assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was not — repeat, not — a “pre-meditated” attack, now the facts that contradict the original White House spin are becoming public, and so the slow-motion walkback is underway.
“Opportunistic” was still somewhere between “spontaneous protest” (Spin #1) and the final “yeah it was totally a pre-planned al-Qaeda hit” admission. And, no, Jay Carney doesn’t want to get into the details because — nudge, nudge — it’s an “ongoing investigation.”
At no point, whowever, will the White House ever admit that their Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Islamaphobe game was all about political damage control, nor will any of the mainstream media people who enthusiastically pushed the Obama spin ever admit that they were, in fact, totally in the tank for their Democrat buddies and thus complicit in a deliberate deception.
Source: Slain ambassador said
he was on al Qaeda hit list
What? The slain ambassador himself knew he was targeted for assassination by radical Islamic terrorists? And the Obama administration did . . . what? Nothing?
“Can we ask a question, Mr. President? No? OK, then . . . ” And then it’s on to do the Letterman show and party down with Jay-Z.
Grant that they’re totally in the tank for their Democrat buddies, but do these “reporters” have no sense of professional pride? Are they just gonna roll over and take it? Are they going to let themselves be played for fools by this administration?
“What’s clear,” the CBS reporter concludes, “is that the public won’t get a detailed account of what happened until after the election.”
Yes, of course. That’s exactly the arrangement. And they like it.
Lots more at Twitchy, but the hands-down best line of the day was a commenter at Ace of Spades HQ:
There was no advanced planning for what happened in your mouth. It was merely an opportunistic event.
OMG! @ParisHilton Gets Wrongly Tagged ‘H8R’ for Talking About Gay Sex

Paris Hilton: So Rich, She Don’t Need You
Political Correctness requires that no one ever say anything to hurt the feelings of Designated Victim Groups, and even mega-celebrities are not exempt from this stupid rule:
Paris Hilton has been caught on tape making homophobic and derogatory statements about gay men who have random sex with strangers even stating “most of them probably have AIDS.” . . .
[A] spokesperson for Hilton said:
“Paris Hilton’s comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease. The conversation became heated, after a close gay friend told her in a cab ride, a story about a gay man who has AIDS and is knowingly having unprotected sex. He also discussed a website that encourages random sex by gay men with strangers. As she was being shown the website her comments were in reference to those people promoting themselves on the site. . . . Paris Hilton is a huge supporter of the gay community and would never purposefully make any negative statements about anyone’s sexual orientation.”
On the audio Paris says at one point: “Gay guys are the horniest people in the world. They’re disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS.”
The heiress was in Manhattan for New York Fashion Week and in the early morning hours of Friday, September 7, Paris’ remarks were caught on tape by a cab driver, when her pal, who is an openly gay male model, is heard in the audio clip describing Grindr, an app that gay men use to locate other gay men for hookups.
A few relevant factual reference points:
- In describing men who hook up with complete strangers via the Internet, Paris said “most of them probably have AIDS.”
- This was not offered as a scientifically valid estimate, but a rather common-sense health concern, related to the promiscuous behavior described.
- Butt-fucking isn’t healthy. Excuse the blunt language, boys and girls, but the rectum is not a sexual organ. It is foul and unsanitary, and if you have some kind of weird obsessive-compulsive fetish about doing it in the hiney-hole, you need to seek help.
- Yes, Point 3 applies equally to you hetero guys who, to satisfy your porn-influenced kinky craving, coerce or cajole your girlfriends into taking it up the poop chute.
- The Gay Thought Police who are trying to turn Paris Hilton into a latter-day Anita Bryant, merely for expressing a revulsion at the promiscuous indulgence in anonymous sex, are engaged in a form of dishonest fascistic propaganda.
- Attempting to take a single de-contextualized comment and turn it into evidence of “hate” — to define people according to selective distortion — is probably not going to endear you to any honest person who has hitherto been your ally.
- Paris Hilton has so much money she doesn’t need to kowtow to political pressure groups, and if she’s being nice to gay people, it’s not because she can be blackmailed. Even if she never again appeared on TV, she’s still richer than you.
You people need to get a life, stop harassing @ParisHilton and — please! — seek help for your weird hiney-hole fetish.

But no, that upper image is, unexpectedly, a sale item:

Let me be perfectly clear. Obama wasn’t joking when he talked about ‘fundamentally transforming America‘. This is why I tell people: the election in five weeks is nothing short of a Constitutional referendum.
If given another 48 months to wield his Commie wrecking ball on our notion of limited government, know this: he’ll be hanging on to power for more like 480 months.
You know what you’ve got to do.
