This is just embarrassing. Grant that he’s already burnt a lot of bridges behind him in an apparent quest to become the Most Famous Republican Who Hates Everything About Republicans — a tough competition with Peggy Noonan these days — but did David Frum really have to go after Michelle Malkin?

As Ace of Spades points out, Frum makes reference to his recent novel, and his novel was brutally panned by Mark Judge.

Having expended much energy lately in an attempt to prevent a thermonuclear blogwar meltdown — evidently with no luck, given the latest ugly incident — I feel a need to emphasize once again just how much I hate this kind of stuff.

There is no rule that every conservative must like (or agree with) every other conservative, but why permit mere dislike or disagreement to become the basis for an all-or-nothing vendetta?

Why push it to the point that your friends feel so embarrassed — indeed, mortified — by your purposeful insults to their other friends?

David, you’re wrong, and I don’t mean incorrect, I mean wrong.

You ought to apologize and re-think whatever the hell you were thinking that got you so far down this road, or else you’ll finish your career guest-blogging at Little Green Footballs.

I agree on the importance of this election. What’s even more crucial will be the follow-on commitment. Despite the excellence of candidates like Mia Love, we can’t vote in the Republicans this November and think that the GOP will hold a conservative course, without a large Tea Party boot lodged strategically.

Exit, Lying: Smear Site Quits After Being Named Walker v. Kimberlin Defendant

Readers who have been following The Kimberlin Files these past four months may recall that, as soon as I began reporting on convicted terrorist bomber Brett Kimberlin’s “lawfare” harassment of blogger Aaron Walker, I came under attack by the Twitter sockpuppet troll account (a “synthetic presence,” you might say) known as “Breitbart Unmasked.”

This Twitter account was/is linked to a Web page, created in February, that originally targeted Andrew Breitbart but which, since Andrew’s March 1 death, has become increasingly obsessed with attacking (a) enemies of Brett Kimberlin, (b) enemies of Neal Rauhauser, and (c) people who had something to do with exposing the 2011 Anthony Weiner cybersex scandal.

I took alarm when I saw — and this was May 17 or 18, I forget — that “Breitbart Unmasked” had been trying to “dox” Ace of Spades.

Oh, hell, no you won’t.

A couple days ago, William J. Hoge reported that the person or persons behind “Breitbart Unmasked” had been named as a John Doe co-defendant in Aaron Walker’s federal lawsuit against Brett Kimberlin (not to be confused with the Virginia Walker v. Kimberlin case going forward separately in Prince William County, Virginia). So today, as also reported by Hoge, “Breitbart Unmasked” posted a dishonest and self-serving farewell entitled, “Breitbart Unmasked Closes: The Free Speech Debate.”

That farewell is not linked because (a) Rauhauser has a hacker-ish habit of infesting Web sites with all sorts of nefarious viruses, and (b) we don’t feed the trolls, so if you want to read it, you’ll have to go look for it yourself, but I warn you to use an anonymizer.

Is it possible to deconstruct in detail all the lies “Breitbart Unmasked” tells? Yes, but I’m trying to get ready for a trip to Ohio, and nobody else wants to waste that much time when it’s much simpler to say, as Mary McCarthy once said of Lillian Hellman, “Every word she writes is a lie, including ‘and’ and ‘the.’ ”

Buried amid all the dishonest noise, however, the stupid troll’s farewell post includes one telling (and stupidly accidental) admission:

That was what excited us at BU, the challenge of debating Andrew Breitbart on any topic he chose to be interested in. So when he died it threw BU into a conundrum. We went round and round over what to focus on and what the site could be about with him gone. . . .
Those stories have been very interesting because they are about a topic that many like to debate about, which is free speech. And since Andrew was debating with BU about free speech the night he died we decided to run with it; and the rest is history as they say.

Except, unfortunately for you, fool, we know exactly who was “debating” (actually, harassing) Andrew Breitbart on Twitter the night he died — and you can go see for yourself, Neal Rauhauser.

No “Breitbart Unmasked” in Breitbart’s timeline, see?

Rauhauser seems to have deleted the account with which he was harassing Andrew the night of Feb. 29/March 1. Neal created several such Twitter accounts (along with various “Occupy” and “Anonymous”-themed accounts) in 2011, and has since deleted most of the ones that got “outed” as his creations. 

As was his habit, Breitbart had re-Tweeted the most venomous of the Tweets with which Rauhauser was attacking him on the night of Feb. 29, and Breitbart also re-Tweeted a message by one of his conservative friends who called out Rauhauser by name:

Neal Rauhauser has told so many lies he can’t keep track of his lies, and he’s deleted more Web content than most people will ever create. He’s done this over and over, and every time you catch him in a lie — once his malevolent deceits have been exposed — Rauhauser always does two things:

  1. Deletes the exposed lie;
  2. Claims victimhood; and
  3. Begins plotting vengeance against those who exposed him for the vicious dishonest coward he is.

Yeah, good luck with your predictable modus operandi this time, Neal.

Everything has been screencapped and the caches have been saved, and if you think that Aaron Walker’s lawyers are stupid, you’ve got another think coming. And I haven’t even begun to explain the accidental revelations you made in your idiotic bragging posts last weekend, before you “unpublished” those.

Yeah. Saved ’em all. Every single one.

Oh, That’ll Go Over Like The Vagina Monologues In Quantico

The Obama administration’s shifting claims on what took place in Benghazi, Libya on 9/11 became more defiant yesterday when unnamed officials suggested that no amount of security would have mattered in Libya, not even a detachment of US Marines.

Yeah, “unnamed officals”, you’d best ensure that you’re anonymous while tossing the U.S.M.C. under your #Fail bus.

This plaintive whine may actually be true in the sense that a Marine detachment with reasonable ROE would have waded into the attackers before it became too problematic. See what I did there? ROE vs. wade? I kill me. About like the Marines would have whacked these scum. But, strangely, not like the Marines would respond to these officials so quick to opine on tactical matters when the Obama Administration simply needs to slink into the pit of historical shame.

Say hello to the Carter Administration when you get there, Obama.

Two members of the White House team may have been involved with prostitutes during President Obama’s April trip to Colombia, according to a report Friday from Fox News.
Fox said it was in possession of a letter from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) informing Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) that “two non-[Secret Service] personnel may have had contact with foreign nationals.”

Talk about “shipping jobs overseas” . . .

Ever had one of those Rodney Dangerfield days? Yeah, I’ve had about four consecutive months of them. It ain’t easy being me.

Because I had to move — thank you, Brett Kimberlin! — a check for money earned in July, which should have arrived earlier this month, got sent to the wrong address. Today, I’m trying to scrounge up enough cash to get on the road to Ohio to cover the Romney-Ryan bus tour, while constantly being attacked by a swarm of (a) leftist trolls and (b) misguided conservatives who can’t seem to comprehend the meaning of “social engineeering.”

Young people should be advised that if they ever achieve any small measure of success in their lives, they will be hated more for their achievements and virtues than for their faults and failures. Trying to keep focused on actual work under such conditions is extraordinarily difficult. It has taken tremendous effort to continue doing things that are positive and helpful, rather than constantly swatting back at certain people who seem to have decided that my services are of negligible value, so that I may be thrown under the bus — casually, at a whim — for refusing to abandon my friends.

What good would my friendship be, if I were not a loyal friend? And why would adults, who are certainly old enough to understand the value of morale to the success of any endeavor, go out of their way to demoralize me at a time like this? If this is not pure malicious spite, what is it?

VIDEO: David Horowitz Slams Obama’s Attack on Islam Film, First Amendment

An appalled David Horowitz, appearing on America Live with Megyn Kelly, passionately defended freedom of speech, Thursday, calling the arrest of the anti Islam movie maker, one of the “most disgraceful moments in the history of the American Presidency”, adding “if you don’t have the right of expressing your opinion, however hateful it may be, you don’t have any rights! Americans cannot defend all the other rights they have, if they don’t have free speech!”
“If Muslims are rioting against a film – SHAME ON THEM!” he exclaimed.

It’s not just the content of the message that makes this so powerful, it’s the authority of the messenger. The son of Communist Party parents — a so-called “Red Diaper baby” — David Horowitz was one of the original voices of the New Left in the 1960s. He was an editor of the influential radical journal Ramparts and certainly one of the most thoughtful and responsible spokesman for his generation of leftists. And then a few things happened: The Black Panthers murdered his friend, the Communists won in Vietnam, and Horowitz noticed that what the Left’s victories had produced — both at home and abroad — was the same kind of vast human catastrophe the revolutionary Left had always produced, and which the Right had consistently warned Americans about.

Horowitz’s pride in his intellectual integrity, and his refusal to ignore stubborn facts that were politically inconvenient to the Left, was the seed of an astonishing transformation. There was no one single road-to-Damascus moment, but rather a steady reconsideration of his ideological commitments, a process he called simply “Second Thoughts.” By 1984, he and his longtime editorial colleague Peter Collier were ready to stun their former leftist allies by declaring their support for Ronald Reagan’s re-election.

When I was first finding my way into the world of conservative thought, as an ex-Democrat disillusioned by the leftward excesses of Bill Clinton, one of the books that most helped me understand the fundamental problems of our era was the 1989 Horowitz-Collier compendium, Destructive Generation: Second Thoughts About the ’60s.

Because the 1960s New Left famously staged a “long march through the institutions,” attaining hegemony in academia, the news media and the entertainment industry, they were able to create a false and self-glorifying narrative of the 1960s revolution. The real history of that era is both more complex and more interesting that the simplistic triumphalism of the Left would have you think. The “Second Thoughts” account by Horowitz and Collier, who were eyewitnesses and participants in that revolution, is a powerful story, told fluently and poignantly, with meticulous concern for fact.

If our public education system had any real sense of patriotism and civic responsibility, David Horowitz’s personal memoir, Radical Son, would be on the reading list for every high-school AP/honors-track student in the country. In terms of both literary quality and historical significance, Radical Son should surely be ranked among the best American autobiographies of the 20th century.

Thus, when Horowitz speaks on a contemporary issue, he brings to the subject a seriousness that ought to compel our attention.

A Northwest Austin homeowner, who hung a chair from a tree meant to symbolize President Obama, has taken it down.
The political blog burntorangereport.com first talked about the display in the Spicewood Estates area Wednesday night.
The fold-up chair, with an American flag attached to it, was hung from a tree in front of Bud Johnson’s home and some neighbors complained that it was racist.

I may require some brief fun with a chair, the tree in front of my house, and a camera. Antagonizing people is uncool. But so is this Orwellian noise that even your furniture could be raaaaacist.
