Your bait post is noted, and your attention is drawn to what RSM had to say two days ago about the hypothetical corporate ‘we’ choosing Romney in November:

So, while in the tank, I think that shows RSM’s not necessarily a blinded fool. Stacy has covered campaigns enough to know when a shark has been lept.

In closing: wait, give McCain a chance to get home from the Big Easy and then offer his oracular pronouncement on the meaning of this stage of the Caining of Rick Santorum.

I would have shot back at the questioner something along the lines of “It is disgusting to see the Left, from the President on down through the media, rush to judgement and race baiting after such a tragedy.” Then again, I’m just another jackwagon blogger, and not swimming the piranha-infested waters of electoral politics.

This, I believe, will be the “big f******g deal” for the Supreme Court, and perhaps not just the Scalia wing, either. The removal of this barrier on federal government intrusion makes the Constitution meaningless, and sets the precedent that any real or perceived health-care crisis would allow Congress to act. Just wait until they start looking at obesity with these new powers. We’re already seeing cities and states pass ridiculous laws about having no toys in Happy Meals and barring the use of certain fats in restaurant cooking. When the federal government solidifies ObamaCare powers through an approving Supreme Court decision, get ready for the stepmother of all nanny states to arise.

I submit that what is significant about ObamaCare is that it’s the last remaining piece in FDR’s diabolical re-write of the Bill of Rights:Never have so few words tinkled the ears of so many, while achieving results so opposite their apparent intent.

ObamaCare arrived at the time the country is financially, economically, and rhetorically exhausted. The Senate can’t pass a budget, but a Democ**t Senator can call for a sports investigation. More importantly, these Orwellian nitwits cannot control the news cycle, so propaganda plays such as Sandra Fluke and the race baiting in the wake of the Trayvon Martin tragedy are not going unnoticed. The whole system is tragically, stupidly, inexorably crashing.

Aside: I had hoped to cover the ObamaCare protests in DC yesterday and on Tuesday: conflicts in both cases. As dearly as I love blogging, it just can’t be my highest priority in life.

Trayvon Martin Case Discussed by Noted Civil Rights Leader … David Plouffe?

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana
When I had lunch Wednesday with Ali Akbar, he was talking about the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, and I had to confess that I didn’t know enough about the case to have an opinion. My main suggestions were (a) we shouldn’t “try the case in the media” by offering opinions based on incomplete knowledge provided by news accounts that might be misleading; and (b) we should urge people to calm down and let the justice system work.

Obviously, it’s a very bad thing for a kid to get shot while walking home from the store with Skittles, and it’s very difficult to understand why the cops didn’t arrest George Zimmerman, but I remember the way left-wing bloggers rushed to judgment in the 2009 Kentucky census worker case, and wouldn’t want to be a part of that kind of “trial by blog” reaction.

Besides, I’m covering a presidential campaign and I don’t need to get bogged down in . . . Wait! What’s this headline that just popped up at the top of Memeorandum?

Plouffe calls out GOP candidates
over Obama reaction
“Reprehensible.” “Irresponsible.” “Hard to stomach.”
White House senior adviser David Plouffe did not mince words Sunday when talking about the reaction by Republican presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich to President Barack Obama’s comments on the Trayvon Martin shooting.
“Those two comments are really irresponsible. I would consider them reprehensible,” Plouffe said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think those comments were really hard to stomach, really, and I guess trying to appeal to people’s worst instincts.” . . .
A somber Obama on Friday commiserated with the Martin family and urged authorities to fully investigate the shooting.
“If I had a son he would look like Trayvon,” Obama said. “I think (his parents) are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves and we will get to the bottom of exactly what happened.”
Santorum said the president politicized the events, while Gingrich characterized Obama’s comments as “nonsense.”
“What the president of the United States should do is try to bring people together, not use these types of horrible and tragic individual cases to try to drive a wedge in America,” Santorum said Friday on “The Hugh Hewitt Show,” a radio program.
“Is the president suggesting if it had been a white who had been shot, that would be OK because it wouldn’t look like him? That’s just nonsense,” Gingrich said Friday on conservative host Sean Hannity’s radio show, “The Hannity Show.” “I mean dividing this country up, it is a tragedy this young man was shot.”
But Plouffe, who served as Obama’s 2008 campaign manager, said the Republican reaction is evidence of a circus-like primary.
“I don’t think there’s very many people in America that would share that reaction. You know, this Republican primary at some points has been more of a circus show and a clown show,” Plouffe told CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley.

Earth to CNN: David Plouffe is a Democrat. David Plouffe is a top political strategist. David Plouffe thinks it’s “reprehensible” anytime anybody says a negative word about Obama. Also, in case you didn’t notice, David Plouffe is whiter than a slice of Wonder Bread.

At a time like this, does America really need pious partisan sermons from self-righteous white liberals? I don’t think so.

And that is my opinion on the Trayvon Martin case.

Don’t Blame The Class, Blame The School Of Thought

Insty links Mark Steyn’s latest lamentation:

When Morgan Stanley ran those numbers in 2009, the debt-to-revenue ratio in Greece was 312 percent; in the United States it was 358 percent. If Greece has been knocking back the ouzo, we’re face down in the vat. Michael Tanner of the Cato Institute calculates that, if you take into account unfunded liabilities of Social Security and Medicare versus their European equivalents, Greece owes 875 percent of GDP; the United States owes 911 percent — or getting on for twice as much as the second-most-insolvent Continental: France at 549 percent.

Insty concludes:

No organization can survive corruption and ineptitude at the top forever. And we’ve had the worse political class in American history for a while now, though its rottenness has really accelerated lately.

My contention is that if Barack Obama had not been located to #OccupyResoluteDesk, the plutocrats would have located another tool. The worm eating the heart out of everything is the Federal Reserve. If you haven’t diagnosed the problem, and told me what we’re going to do to halt the longest-running heist in human history, then, I submit, you’re merely re-arranging the tungsten on the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Of course, returning to Insty’s point, the only GOP candidate discussing the Federal Reserve seriously is the one with the lowest likelihood of election. But is Paul talking about the Fed despite, or rather because of his relatively lower chance? The U.S. has to realize that crude propaganda plays like the Sandra Fluke farce or leveraging the Trayvon Martin tragedy are symptomatic of an utterly broken, dysfunctional President. If we are insufficiently exceptional to call ‘nonsense’ on #OccupyResoluteDesk, then we’re collectively justifying his idiocy.
