Dammit, Smitty! How Many Times Must I Tell You, ‘No Quarter to Feminists’?

HOLLIS, N.H.
The sun is shining this morning in New Hampshire, but the shadows of gloom still threaten to swallow my soul. First, I couldn’t get a “Roll Tide” from Rick Santorum and now . . . Et tu, Smitty?
“Roxeanne gets me thinking with this one,” indeed!
The redheaded temptress has evidently beguiled and confused you by asserting that it is “downright sexist” to assume “that men can do things competently but women cannot.”
Obviously so, and this is exactly the point: What Roxeanne pejoratively styles “sexism” is the only possible resistance to the deceitful strategic attempt at gynocentric hegemony commonly known as “feminism.”
Don’t you see, Admiral Smith, that feminists are lying when they claim to want mere equality? Do you suppose that the Fair Sex shall be content to get 51% of everything and leave us with a respectable remainder? Hell, no, sir.
They want it all or, at least, they want everything worth having — every position of prestige and influence — and if their ruthless power-grab is not strenuously resisted, we shall be left only the most ignoble duties of society. Men will be hewing wood and drawing water for Our Omnipotent Feminist Overlords, tugging the forelock to beg crumbs from the distaff banquet table.
It’s a zero-sum game, you see, as any Womyn’s Studies major would be happy to inform you. Any power exercised by any man over any woman under any circumstance is, according to feminist doctrine, the Unjust Misogynistic Oppression of the Patriarchy.
Call a waitress a “waitress”? SEXIST!
Glance twice at a long-legged beauty? MISOGYNIST!
Ask your wife to wash your socks? OPPRESSOR!
This endless hectoring — the constant accusatory finger-pointing intended to shame men for their natural masculine impulses — is part and parcel of feminism’s totalitarian quest for complete dominance. And the fact that feminism, as an ideology, represents only the selfish hatefulness of a relatively small number of embittered hags does not make this totalitarianism less dangerous.
Remember that the Bolsheviks were but a tiny fraction of the Russian populace at the time of the October Revolution, and yet their radical ruthlessness enabled them to seize power. In much the same way as the Bolsheviks claimed to speak for the workers and peasants, feminists nowadays claim to represent the interests of all women. On the basis of that usurped authority, feminists wield the awful fury of revolutionary terror against their enemies, so that even Jeff Goldstein seems afraid to openly oppose them.
Am I alone in seeing this? Is there no one else who recognizes the dictatorial ambitions of feminism, the steel fist inside the velvet glove? Do you not understand, Smitty, that you can no more placate these would-be tyrants with soft words of reasonable compromise than you can negotiate with a ravenous shark?
Rebuke them! Expose them! Defy them! Denounce them!
Never show fear in the presence of feminists, because your fear is their second most powerful weapon, and nearly as dangerous as the first.
IYKWIMAITYD.

HOLLIS, N.H.
Last night was probably the toughest night for me since I’ve been on the campaign trail. Why? Because I was on deadline in Manchester, while my four sons were at home watching our beloved University of Alabama Crimson Tide play for the national championship against . . .
Well, some inferior third-rate trade school from Baton Rouge whose name escapes me.
At home, Mrs. Other McCain was serving snacks, and my sons — 19-year-old twins Bob and Jim, 13-year-old Jefferson and 11-year-old Emerson — were reveling in the Glorious Triumph of the Tide. I should have been there with them and, although we occasionally exchanged phone and text greetings of “Roll Tide,” the mental weight of my looming deadline was a distraction, and as the evening went on, I became more and more depressed. Not even Alabama’s 21-0 shutout of the Inferior Third-Rate Trade School From Baton Rouge — the mighty Crimson Tide defense held them to a mere 92 yards — could lift my despairing spirit.
I blame Florida for this.
The vicious Romney-loving bastards in the Florida GOP who jumped up their primary to Jan. 31 not only ruined Christmas, they also prevented me from being home to watch ‘Bama with my boys.
“Why Does Florida Hate America?”
Distracted and depressed, I attempted to cheer myself up. At Rick Santorum’s final pre-primary rally, I asked him for a small favor:
RSM: Can I get a ‘Roll Tide’?
SANTORUM: No.
RSM: No. Not a ‘Roll Tide.’
SANTORUM: I learned something about taking no sides.
RSM: You need those LSU fans.
SANTORUM: I love Alabama —
UNKNOWN VOICE: He’s hurting after that Steelers loss.
SANTORUM: I loved my time in Alabama, but Louisiana has been very good to me.
What kind of squishy moderate Romney-esque flip-floppery is that? What happened to “The Courage to Fight”?
America leads bold leadership, Senator!
A depressing night all around on the campaign trail, when even a staunch conservative like Rick Santorum wouldn’t give me a “Roll Tide.” But tomorrow, I’ll be heading back home for a couple days of rest before I travel to South Carolina. And perhaps my loyal readers can take a bold stand to do something to cheer me up: Hit the freaking tip jar!

I strongly urge you to follow the lead of the smartest Democrat going, Jim Webb, and just don’t bother showing up in November. Your purple state Virginia fantasy is in for serious shredding. But if come you must, bring Manbearpig to campaign for you, like he did for Jim Moran. That was at least entertaining hooey.

Roxanne gets me thinking with this one:
Now, I suspect that the retort is “That’s not what I meant by fungible,” but that leads us to the question: in what way are men fungible with each other but not with women? Can we really not take a male scientist and replace him with a talented female scientist, but he could be swapped out with another male scientist? In that situation, the premise of not being fungible is downright sexist – assuming that men can do things competently but women cannot.
Raaaaacism and sexism, I contend, are both DNA-based decision making. To say that any individuals are completely fungible is a joke: a Venn diagram will never have a complete overlap. I daresay that if you, the reader, could be cloned and never see your genetic copy for a decade, you wouldn’t even be fungible with yourself. For all the genetic makeup of you and otherYou, retroviruses notwithstanding, may be identical, a decade’s worth of neurological state changes are going to matter. Stacy’s clone, for example, might have made peace with Tabitha Hale.
However, I’m no longer convinced that feminists are even arguing in good faith. I suspect they understand that XX <> XY, in their heart of hearts, but will continue to argue, contra rationality that XX = XY simply because being contra rationality is more important that being correct. When people reject the possibility of Truth, all that remains is dishonesty. It’s who they are; it’s what they do.
None of the preceding should be taken as disagreeing with Roxanne’s post. She merely prompted.
On the same topic, Goldstien has some powerful words, emphasis mine:
That the term feminism has been corrupted — just as the terms “liberal” or “tolerance” or “fairness” have been corrupted — does not mean we as classical liberals / legal conservatives need give up the fight to take back ownership. In fact, ceding ownership over such terms has enabled the left to claim the mantle of being liberal, tolerant, and fair — to claim that it is they who are advocates of the equal rights of women, even as their corruption of feminism has rendered them particularly cynical special pleaders — which of necessity suggests of their political opponents the obverse: legal conservatives / classical liberals — now framed as racist, homophobic, misogynistic and patriarchal right-wingers — must be illiberal, intolerant, unfair, and resistant to allowing the “equal rights” of women.
It has been my argument here over the course of the last ten years that by rejecting and then countering the left’s attempts to usurp the language of individual liberty, we as conservatives are able to then forcefully and consistently make the case that the left’s entire political facade is based on the ideological perversion of what are fundamentally classical liberal principles.
Preach it, Jeff!
From the abstract pits of Postmodernism, to the vermin of the #Occupy movement, everything about the Left is an assault on the Enlightenment values that inform America. They hate you; they hate your face. For the end result of Progress is a vast mob of purely emotional, state-dependent rodents squeezed by iron fisted demagogues.
Our task as Americans and bloggers is to oppose the Left at every turn.

I’ll say that it couldn’t hurt. . .
But the real question is, can Mitt borrow enough personality from Stacy McCain to pull off something like that in non-laboratory conditions?

Palin Endorses Newt. Todd Palin

What an interesting twist, via O.P. Ditch on Facebook, and ABC:
But Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and John McCain’s 2008 Republican running mate, has yet to decide “who is best able to go up against Barack Obama,” Todd Palin said.
Palin said he has not spoken to Gingrich or anyone from the former House speaker’s campaign. But he said he respects Gingrich for what he went through in the 1990s and compared that scrutiny in public life to what Sarah Palin went through during her run for the vice presidency.
Todd Palin said he believes that being in the political trenches and experiencing the highs and lows help prepare a candidate for the future and the job of president.
One is sorely tempted to read an entire library or two into this. Which is probably why face value is the wiser course. Nevertheless, some form of a Palin/Gingrich alliance could prove quite formidable, and lead to incontinence in certain corners of the White House. . .
