An Embarrassing Defeat for Biden
Posted on | March 4, 2021 | Comments Off on An Embarrassing Defeat for Biden

This failure is an example of Biden’s basic incompetence:
Neera Tanden withdrew her nomination for Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Tuesday evening.
In a statement, Tanden wrote:
Dear President Biden,
I am writing to you to withdraw my nomination for Director of the Office of Management and Budget. It has been an honor of a lifetime to be considered for this role and for the faith placed in me. I appreciate how hard you and your team at the White House has worked to win my confirmation. Unfortunately, it now seems clear that there is no path forward to gain confirmation, and I do not want continued consideration of my nomination to be a distraction from your other priorities.I am incredibly grateful for your leadership on behalf of the American people and for your agenda that will make such a transformative difference in people’s lives.
Sincerely,
Neera Tanden
The White House confirmed the withdrawal.
Tanden was facing bipartisan opposition from senators due to past comments she made on her Twitter feed. . . .
Biden’s cabinet picks have mostly sailed through the Democrat-led Senate. Still, Biden’s choice to lead the OMB, which heads efforts to ensure an administration’s priorities are reflected in legislation and regulations, was derailed when Sanders questioned Tanden about her “vicious attacks” against both Republicans and progressives on Twitter, including “me, personally.”
Manchin’s announced “no” vote against Tanden made her confirmation unlikely given Republican resistance to her nomination.
This is a shades-of-Jimmy-Carter level of embarrassment. Tanden was (is) a credentialed member of Team Clinton, and was president of the Center for American Progress, a Podesta-founded, Soros-funded progressive think tank dating back to the anti-war, anti-Bush era. And she was another of those “historic first” sort of identity-politics tokens. But she ruined her chances by constantly blabbing all over Twitter:
With her withdrawal, Tanden becomes the first nominee to a White House Cabinet post to be sunk by her old tweets, which were sharply critical of a number of lawmakers. Biden’s administration had emphasized the historic nature of Tanden’s nomination; she served in President Bill Clinton’s White House and had experience running a major think tank, and if confirmed, she would have been the first woman of color and first Asian American woman to lead OMB.
But much of Tanden’s résumé was overshadowed by her proliferous online posting — at least 1,000 tweets raking both Republicans and leftist Democrats over the coals — that Tanden quietly started deleting in November 2020.
Biden can barely remember his own name, but the Internet never forgets.

Governor Gropo
Posted on | March 2, 2021 | Comments Off on Governor Gropo

Gosh, he was a Democratic Party hero just a few weeks ago:
A third woman came forward on Monday to accuse New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo of inappropriate sexual behavior, saying he grabbed and kissed her at a 2019 wedding.
Anna Ruch, 33, told the New York Times that the 63-year-old governor made unwanted advances toward her and planted an unsolicited kiss on her cheek at the reception in Manhattan.
“He said, ‘Can I kiss you?’” Ruch recalled. “I was so confused and shocked and embarrassed.”
The allegation comes after two former state staffers accused Cuomo of sexual harassment on the job — including one who claimed the governor kissed her without warning at his Manhattan office, which he has denied.
Unlike the other two women, Ruch has never been employed by the governor or the state, according to the Times.
Ruch, a former member of the Obama administration and the 2020 Biden campaign, said she met Cuomo at the crowded wedding reception in September 2019.
Within moments of being introduced, Ruch claims, the gov put his hand on the small of her lower back, which was exposed in an open-back dress.
“I promptly removed his hand with my hand, which I would have thought was a clear enough indicator that I was not wanting him to touch me,” she told the Times.
But the governor apparently didn’t get the hint.
He allegedly noted that Ruch seemed “aggressive” — and then placed his hands on her cheeks and asked if he could kiss her, loudly enough for a friend of Ruch’s to hear, according to the report.
“I turned my head away and didn’t have words in that moment,” Ruch said.
Ruch said she was so shocked, she had to ask a friend whether the gov’s lips had actually touched her face as she was pulling away. She was told that he kissed her cheek.
The pal captured the creepy encounter in a series of photographs, including one Ruch also provided to The Post that shows Cuomo grasping her face.
“It’s the act of impunity that strikes me,” Ruch said. “I didn’t have a choice in that matter. I didn’t have a choice in his physical dominance over me at that moment. And that’s what infuriates me.”
See, there was a time — in the 1980s, when Cuomo was the strutting young scion of a political dynasty and Donald Trump was still a Manhattan real-estate mogul — that a guy could make a move like that and the worst he risked was maybe getting punched by the girl’s boyfriend. But nobody was going to punch Andrew Cuomo back in the day, and so he got used to putting the moves on any chick that caught his eye. Well, times have changed and Cuomo is now 63 years old. On what planet does a guy his age think it’s OK to make a move on a chick 30 years his junior? I mean, flirting is one thing, but . . .
Anyway, he was becoming an embarrassment to the party, with his COVID-19 policy that killed thousands of little old ladies, and so now we have women “coming forward,” as they say, to tell everybody that Cuomo’s a creepy old pervert. Next up? The hair-sniffing Joe Biden. As soon as Biden’s dementia becomes undeniable, the women will start “coming forward” to destroy Creepy Uncle Joe.
Cynical? Yeah, but these are Democrats, remember.

Trump Approved 10,000 National Guard for Jan. 6, But Pelosi Rejected Troops
Posted on | March 1, 2021 | Comments Off on Trump Approved 10,000 National Guard for Jan. 6, But Pelosi Rejected Troops

President Donald Trump has confirmed reports he requested 10,000 National Guard troops ahead of the January 6th rally in Washington, D.C., only to be rebuffed by authorities.
Speaking [to] Steve Hilton on “The Revolution,” the former president outlined how he knew in advance of the crowd size:
“Everyone said we’ll be at the rally. It was, I think, the largest crowd that I have ever spoken to before. I have spoken to big crowds, hundreds of thousands of people, more than that, but hundreds of thousands of people.”
In response, Trump said he “gave the number” to the Department of Defense, insisting that 10,000 members of the National Guard would be needed.
“They took that number, from what I understand, they gave it to people at the Capitol, that is controlled by Pelosi, and I heard they rejected it because they didn’t think it would look good,” added Trump in the interview after his Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) speech.
Trump’s comments follow reports that Pelosi discouraged the Sergeant at Arms from deploying the force and an implausible timeline whereby Pelosi approved a request for the National Guard before it was even received by former Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving.
The news confirms reporting from Vanity Fair, mostly ignored by the mainstream media . . .

Police Kill Juan Hernandez
Posted on | February 28, 2021 | Comments Off on Police Kill Juan Hernandez
Don’t expect to see the #Justice4Juan hashtag trending on social media, nor is it likely that the police shooting of Juan Hernandez will give rise to a #LatinoLivesMatter movement. No, I think everyone in America will agree, Juan Hernandez needed killing:
A former Camp Lejeune Marine who was convicted in 2014 for the shooting death of his wife was gunned down by police in Pennsylvania after officers say they witnessed him beating a transgender woman, who later died as a result of her injuries.
(Did you catch that? Just seven years ago, this guy was convicted of murdering his wife, but was already back on the streets where he was in the process of beating a tranny to death when cops killed him. Explain to me again about our “mass incarceration” problem?)
At about 11 a.m. Friday, New Wilmington police were called to a home on South New Castle Street. When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Juan Carter Hernandez beating 24-year-old Chyna Carrillo with a blunt object. When officers ordered Hernandez to stop, he ignored them and continued beating her, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The officer shot and killed Hernandez at the scene. Carrillo was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, where she died.
The officer who killed Hernandez has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure during the investigation process.
Hernandez was released from prison in North Carolina in 2019 after he pled guilty to second-degree murder in Onslow County Superior Court. He was sentenced to 8-10 years and four months in prison for shooting and killing his 20-year-old wife Kandace Hernandez in their home in Richlands, N.C. on July 20, 2011.
At the time of the 2011 shooting, he was wanted on a federal warrant for desertion from the United States Marine Corps.
No one — absolutely no one — is protesting this guy’s death. However, the family of the wife he killed in 2011 is speaking out:
Tammy Larew, Kandace’s mother, says she was always worried Hernandez would hurt another girlfriend after killing her daughter.
Now that she’s seen news of Chyna Carrillo’s killing, she says her worst fear has come true.
“I just scream. This should not have happened. I knew it was going to happen,” Larew said.
Kandace grew up around Youngstown and began dating Hernandez here.
The couple moved to North Carolina due to his career in the military and got married. . . .
[P]olice had been called to their home several times for domestic disputes.
“Kandace was on the phone with my husband six minutes before she was killed, wanting a bus ticket home,” Larew said.
In July 2011, Hernandez killed Kandace in their home. In court, he pleaded guilty to second degree murder and claimed he reacted in self defense.
But Larew wanted to go to trial.
She thinks Hernandez should’ve served more than eight years in prison.
“They say there wasn’t enough evidence and they were going to get him to take a plea deal, and I did not want that,” Larew said.
She thinks a longer sentence would’ve protected Chyna and other women from Hernandez.
“A few people ask me, ‘Do you feel that you got justice now because he’s gone?’ No. I mean, he’s gone, but he still did what he did to my daughter and to Chyna,” Larew said.
Police say Hernandez knew Carillo and they don’t think it was a “hate crime.” So I guess it was . . . a love crime?
Welcome to 2021. Lots of “social justice” out there, allegedly.
