Transgenderism: ‘Equality’ for the Insane

Posted on | February 18, 2018 | 1 Comment

Nearly 10 years ago, after gay activists launched hateful attacks on supporters of California’s Proposition 8, I explained that the LGBT movement’s “vitriolic rage highlighted how the progressive rhetoric of ‘rights’ undermines and destabilizes political consensus”:

Seizing on the triumphant narrative of the black civil-rights movement, liberals adopted the habit of framing political debates in terms of minority “rights” versus majority “discrimination.” That this tactic involves a species of moral and emotional blackmail should be obvious. . . .
If all legal and political conflicts are about “rights,” there is no need to argue about the specific consequences of laws and policies. Merely determine which side of the controversy represents “rights” and the debate ends there. . . .
If homosexuality is a right, and denying legal recognition to same-sex marriage is a violation of that right, then the rage of gay activists against their opponents is entirely justified. . . .
Gay activists do not construe their “rights” in terms of liberty, but in terms of radical and absolute equality. They insist that same-sex relationships are identical to — entirely analogous to and fungible with — traditional marriage.

Once the Supreme Court decisions in Windsor (2013) and Obergefell (2015) imposed this “radical and absolute equality” nationwide, the question for the LGBT movement became, “What next?”

An Ohio couple has temporarily lost custody of their 17-year-old daughter after refusing her transgender hormones prescribed by doctors who claim she suffers from gender dysphoria and will commit suicide without the drugs. . . .
In 2016, the unnamed girl was hospitalized and diagnosed with depression, anxiety disorder, and gender dysphoria, which the American Psychiatric Association defines as “a conflict between a person’s physical or assigned gender and the gender with which he/she/they identify.” Doctors claim that the parents’ treating the girl as a girl has triggered suicidal feelings.
Temporary custody has been granted to Hamilton County Job and Family Services, which has placed the girl with her maternal grandparents, who support the transgender identity. The medical team from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center testified that the girl is improving because her grandparents are treating her like a boy. They argued that she should immediately start treatment to decrease the risk of suicide, however.

This is the next phase of the LGBT agenda: Convincing kids they are transgender and getting them into “treatment” (synthetic hormones), using the threat of suicide to blackmail the medical community, legal authorities and parents into cooperating with what is, in reality, kidnapping. There has been an alarming increase in this phenomenon, with the Internet helping to fuel a social contagion of “rapid onset gender dysphoria,” especially among teenage girls. Feminists are angry about this, and it has created a schism within the LGBT coalition. Lesbian activists in New Zealand protested at a “pride” parade in Auckland:

[Saturday], feminist activists Charlie Montague and Renée Gerlich dropped a banner at the front of the Auckland Pride Parade. The banner read:

STOP GIVING KIDS SEX HORMONES — PROTECT LESBIAN YOUTH

“Organisations like RainbowYouth and InsideOut, as well as the Pride Parade, must stop endorsing medical experimentation, child abuse, sexist stereotyping, and the destruction of female-only and lesbian spaces,” says Gerlich, who reached out to RainbowYouth and InsideOut with an open letter in 2016.
Montague adds that, “Lesbians around the world are trying to draw attention to the harm of gender identity on lesbians, and we are being silenced.”
Between 2009-16, the number of women and girls in Wellington being referred to endocrinologists for medical gender transition increased twelvefold: from three to forty-one referrals. Sex hormone prescriptions are forecast to continue rising, and are not leading to decreasing suicide statistics or increased wellbeing. Studies also show that globally, disproportionate numbers of young women being medicated are lesbian.
Throughout the West, children as young as three are being encouraged to undergo gender transition. The prescription of puberty blockers to children as young as ten, followed by sex hormones in adolescence is sterilising children. Children as young as six are being given genital tuckers and prosthetic dildos, and RainbowYouth in New Zealand has been distributing free breast binders in schools.

What we see is that the ideology of “rights,” having obtained supreme political power, has now slipped the leash. The gay agenda is actually destroying segments of the gay community, and the feminist ideal of “gender equality” has been hijacked to erase womanhood. After all, if men and women are exactly the same — “equality” requiring that they be treated identically as a matter of law — there can be no legal argument against men being women or vice-versa. Disapproval of transgenderism is now therefore an illegal prejudice. The lunatics are running the asylum, and the rest of us are required to comply with their bizarre whims.

Cynthia Yockey examines the phenomenon of autogynephilia:

Autogynephilia is a self-induced, chronic, progressive disorder that is almost exclusively a male condition. . . .
Sexual fetishes occur almost exclusively in men, and men who have one sexual fetish usually have several . . .
The seeds of autogynephilia are sown shortly after puberty when a teenage boy realizes he is aroused by female undergarments, usually belonging to his mother or sister. When he has the privacy to do so, he steals the undergarments, strips naked, and masturbates while looking at himself in the mirror. This becomes a ritual and by his mid-twenties the effect is that his primary sexual and romantic feelings are directed at the thought or image of himself as a woman.
As the autogynephile continues his masturbation ritual and elaborates on it in his thirties and forties, he begins to think he IS a woman. Anne Lawrence, an autogynephile, psychologist, sexologist, and anesthesiologist, who writes about autogynephilia, calls this process, “becoming what we love,” since the autogynephile has both sexual and romantic feelings toward the image or thought of himself as a woman. . . .

Read the whole thing. The narcissistic delusion involved — the autogynephile’s arousal toward an eroticized vision of himself as a woman — is symptomatic of a profound psychiatric disturbance. Crazy people have a right to be crazy, so long as they harm no one else with their perverse delusions, but they do not have a right to compel the rest of us to participate in their sexual fantasies, by forcing us to pretend that they actually are what they fantasize about becoming.

‘Advancing Gender Stereotypes’: You Can Be Fired for Telling the Truth, Feds Rule

Posted on | February 17, 2018 | 2 Comments

Update on the Google gulag case:

Former Google engineer James Damore has attempted to take civil and legal action against his former employer after being fired in August, but on Thursday, a federal memo revealed that one of Damore’s filings has been unequivocally denied.
The National Labor Relations Board published its memo this week, which was issued in January after Damore filed a charge against his former employer on August 8. In spite of Damore withdrawing his NLRB filing in September, the board proceeded to examine and issue its own ruling: Google “discharged [Damore] only for [his] unprotected conduct while it explicitly affirmed [his] right to engage in protected conduct.” The NLRB emphasized that any charge filed by Damore on the matter should be “dismissed.”
In explaining the board’s reasoning, NLRB member Jayme Sophir points to two specific parts of the controversial memo circulated by Damore in August: Damore’s claim that women are “more prone to ‘neuroticism,’ resulting in women experiencing higher anxiety and exhibiting lower tolerance for stress” and that “men demonstrate greater variance in IQ than women.” . . .
[Sophir] says that specific Damore statements were “discriminatory and constituted sexual harassment, notwithstanding [his] effort to cloak [his] comments with ‘scientific’ references and analysis, and notwithstanding [his] ‘not all women’ disclaimers. Moreover, those statements were likely to cause serious dissension and disruption in the workplace.”
The NLRB memo also includes a quote from Google’s letter of termination given to Damore in August, which Sophir says focused specifically on offending, fireable content while also protecting other portions of his speech:

I want to make clear that our decision is based solely on the part of your post that generalizes and advances stereotypes about women versus men. It is not based in any way on the portions of your post that discuss [the Employer’s] programs or trainings, or how [the Employer] can improve its inclusion of differing political views. Those are important points. I also want to be clear that this is not about you expressing yourself on political issues or having political views that are different than others at the company. Having a different political view is absolutely fine. Advancing gender stereotypes is not.

This is a distinction without a difference. When a company like Google enforces a policy of “diversity” that effectively mandates hiring and promotion on the basis of race and gender quotas, almost any criticism of these policies — indeed, even acknowledging that such a quota regime is being enforced — is likely to become grounds for termination. It is nonsense to assert that expressing “a different political view” is permissible, while in practice prohibiting internal criticism of the company’s personnel policies, when these policies reflect a particular “political view,” i.e., radical egalitarian “social justice” ideology.

Here we see the heart of the problem exposed by James Damore’s memo which, when read in its entirety, is a careful critique of the make-believe games people must play for the sake of “diversity” and “inclusion.” Civilized people are also courteous people, and a Harvard-educated science major like James Damore would probably not be so rude as to speak bluntly about the kind of tokenism one observes in a workplace where management has become obsessed with “diversity.”
Damore’s memo begins with a bullet-point summary (“TL;DR”) the first point of which is this: “Google’s political bias has equated the freedom from offense with psychological safety, but shaming into silence is the antithesis of psychological safety.” In other words, opinions dissenting from the prevalent “social justice” ideology at Google were being silenced by “shaming” by employees who claimed to be offended by disagreement. This “political bias” could not be separated from Google’s personnel policy, given that the company (and Silicon Valley’s tech culture in general) was being targeted by claims of gender discrimination.

When a multi-billion-dollar company is under investigation by the federal Department of Labor for claims that it discriminates against women, management will be on high alert for any accusation of sexism in the workplace. This induces a climate of paranoia, which some female employees are likely to exploit for their own advantage, so that a woman can strike fear in the hearts of her male colleagues by the merest hint that she finds their words or behavior “offensive.” This leads to the kind of “shaming into a silence” that Damore sought to critique in his 2017 memo. Keep in mind that Damore wrote this less than a year after the election of Donald Trump, who had defeated Hillary Clinton in a campaign that highlighted issues of “gender equality.”

Given this background, it was almost impossibly difficult to distinguish between a Google employee’s (a) criticism of the company’s “diversity” emphasis in workplace policy and (b) his “political views.” Google’s policy was addressed in two bullet points from Damore’s summary:

  • “Differences in distributions of traits between men and women may in part explain why we don’t have 50% representation of women in tech and leadership.
  • “Discrimination to reach equal representation is unfair, divisive, and bad for business.”

These points are relevant not only in terms of the discrimination complaints against Google, but also as a fundamental point of political controversy. No reasonably informed person could pretend that the federal government’s attitude toward discrimination complaints would be unaffected by whether Clinton or Trump was elected in 2016. So the question of why women are “under-represented” in technology firms like Google was both political and highly relevant to the company’s prospects. Damore’s memo suggests that Google, in response to discrimination claims, had implemented a policy of favoritism toward female employees as a means of achieving “equal representation” in its workforce. This policy was simultaneously (a) apparent to employees who paid attention to who was being hired and promoted within the company, and (b) off-limits to criticism. Because a person’s general political attitude might be considered a bellwether of support or opposition to the “diversity” regime at Google, any employee who wasn’t an enthusiastic cheerleader for “progressive” values in politics would predictably become the target of suspicion as a dissenter against the “diversity” policy. An employee with a Trump bumper sticker on his car would likely have zero chance of being promoted in such a climate.

Politics and policy have become tangled together in this way because the federal government has arrogated to itself the authority to dictate workplace policy in the name of “civil rights.” And as Damore said, when private-sector companies implement a de facto quota system for the sake of “diversity,” this is “bad for business,” because hiring and promotion are no longer strictly a matter of merit. When considerations of “diversity” cast doubt on whether the best person for the job is being hired, this sabotages employee morale and undermines the kind of trust necessary to effective teamwork. This was what the Damore memo highlighted in describing Google’s quota regime as “divisive.”

The reaction of Damore’s fellow Google employees is the clearest evidence of how “divisive” the workplace environment had become:

Several employees were apparently awarded “peer bonuses” for disparaging Damore’s views. A “peer bonus” is one of Google’s peer-to-peer recognition systems, through which employees recognize one another for exemplary work with small cash bonuses.
The lawsuit cites one such bonus, in which an employee named Matthew Sachs recognized a colleague named Simone Wu for “speaking up for googley values and promoting [diversity and inclusion] in the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is [Damore’s Memo].” The Google Recognition Team approved the bonus.

In other words, the company’s “googley values” include bullying anyone who dissents, like the Red Guards ganging up to denounce suspected deviationists during the Cultural Revolution in China.

The Cult of Social Justice

What happened at Google, I suggest, is that decades of (federally mandated) “diversity” policies in higher education have replicated, in workplaces where university education is a prerequisite for employment, the campus climate of intolerant political correctness. If you attended college where the office of Title IX enforcement was staffed by feminist ideologues, where campus life is regularly disturbed by protests and complaints of “discrimination” by black, Hispanic and Muslim student groups, and where the administrations incessantly voices its enthusiasm for LGBT “inclusion,” you are likely to be quite sensitive about such radical “social justice” beliefs. This explains why Damore, an alumnus of ultra-progressive Harvard, included numerous disclaimers disavowing discriminatory intent in his memo about Google’s “ideological echo chamber.” No young graduate of an elite university leaves campus without knowing that racism is the worst thing in the world, an unforgivable sin, and that the only things that are even remotely as evil as racism are sexism and homophobia. Because companies like Google are staffed almost exclusively by alumni of elite schools — the Ivy League, M.I.T., Stanford, Cal-Berkeley, etc. — the politically correct attitudes promulgated on campus are inevitably imported into the workplace. Thus, when Matthew Sachs (an alumnus of elite Brandeis University) praises “googly values,” these values are the same “social justice” dogmas that he internalized as part of his collegiate education, a set of beliefs held with quasi-religious certainly by most of his college-educated peers within the “ideological echo chamber” at Google. In December 2015, I described “The Cult of Social Justice” at elite schools:

It was claimed (in a Facebook post by [Yale University] sophomore Neema Githere) that a fraternity had held a “white girls only” party Oct. 31. Although this claim was evidently false, Yale students worked themselves into an emotional frenzy culminating in a Nov. 10 “March of Resilience.” One of the participants in that protest told the Yale Daily News that campus life is “emotionally draining and traumatic for many people of color.”
Emotional trauma is a common symptom among the young disciples of the Cult of Social Justice, occasionally inspiring them to proclaim visions of their own suffering that are either hallucinations or lies. At the University of Virginia, for example, a young woman claimed to have been gang-raped at a fraternity party; after her story made worldwide headlines in November 2014, however, an investigation found that the fraternity had not even held a party on the night in question, and it seems the alleged ringleader of the gang-rape, “Haven Monahan,” was a fictitious invention of the self-declared “survivor” of a crime that never happened.
The Cult of Social Justice requires occasional proof of its quasi-religious worldview, and if not enough genuine oppression can be found, the disciples are always willing to invent evidence of their victimhood. Students at Oberlin have proven remarkably creative in this regard. In 2013, the campus erupted in fury over graffiti and other alleged evidence of racism and homophobia that attracted nationwide media attention. (“Oberlin College Cancels Classes Amid String of Racial Incidents” was the headline at Slate.com, which illustrated the story with a photo of a Ku Klux Klan robe.) It turned out the whole thing was a hoax, and that the alleged “racial incidents” had been manufactured by “progressive” students, including a member of Oberlin College Democrats. Police quickly identified the perpetrators of the hoax and informed Oberlin officials, who “remained silent as the campus reacted as if the incidents were real.”

Young people who are educated within a system where manufactured “hate crimes” and imaginary offenses give rise to campus-wide protests do not discard this cult mentality after graduation. When more than 90% of university faculty are Democrats — on some campuses, the ratio is as high as 30-to-1 — progressivism becomes so hegemonic that “higher education” resembles a totalitarian indoctrination camp. Because Google is staffed by alumni of such schools, its workplace mirrors these attitudes — and some facts are regarded as “hate speech.”

When a federal official like NLRB member Jayme Sophir dismisses “Damore’s claims” about male-female differences as “sexual harassment,” she is condemning an accurate summary of scientific research. In other words, statements of fact are now justified as a firing offense!

Psychology professor Steve Stewart-Williams remarked on Twitter: “It’s legally permissible in the United States to fire someone for expressing a view broadly consistent with the scientific literature.” This is why conservatives are wrong to treat the prevalence of “social justice” on university campuses as a sort of joke, or to dismiss “political correctness” as something trivial and harmless. Real people are suffering real harm as a result of the increasingly totalitarian climate in higher education, which in recent decades has begun to replicate itself in the workplace, even at private-sector companies like Google. When the truth can be silenced as “harassment,” we are no longer living in a free society.

Thank You, President Trump!

Posted on | February 16, 2018 | Comments Off on Thank You, President Trump!

Today, my wife and went to our tax preparer’s office. Being self-employed, tax time is an annual nightmare, as I have to collect all the receipts, etc., about my expenses and income. Then we have to sit down in the office while the tax lady — a very nice lady who is quite patient with us — enters all the data, asks us questions and explains everything. Given a choice between tax time and a root canal? Yeah, at least you get novacaine from the dentist, but you must endure the tax preparation ordeal without benefit of anesthesia. But this year, after enduring the annual trauma, the lady told us what our refund will be. I high-fived my wife and shouted, “Thank you, President Trump!”

There will be a lot of high-fives exchanged this year as millions of Americans find out how much President Trump’s tax cuts mean to them. Nor should we underestimate the positive impact on the economy in general. If many millions of people are getting an IRS refund of $1,000 or more, that translates to billions of dollars in additional consumer demand. More money to buy a car, fix up your house, or put into your retirement account — lower taxes yield economic growth, period.

Who could possibly be against this?

IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said the Trump administration’s $1.5 trillion tax cut could prompt other nations to follow suit, fueling a “race to the bottom” that risks hemming in public spending.
“What we are beginning to see already and what is of concern is the beginning of a race to the bottom, where many other policy makers around the world are saying: ‘Well, if you’re going to cut tax and you’re going to have sweet deals with your corporates, I’m going to do the same thing,”’ Lagarde said. . . .
“You need public money,” she said. “The race to the bottom is not conducive to those investments and to helping prepare the workforce and our societies for this new economy of tomorrow.

Oh, “this new economy of tomorrow,” where international busybodies like Christine Lagarde decide what to do with your money, which they believe is their money, because it’s “public money.”

Screw you, IMF lady! And thanks again, President Trump!

Your Homophobia Is a ‘Direct Threat’ of ‘Potential Violence,’ Says Queer Feminist

Posted on | February 15, 2018 | 1 Comment

“Ellie” (@helliebeanz on Twitter) is a 22-year-old university art student in Tampa. She is a self-described “queer” Cuban-American who is “severely mentally ill.” She is “disabled,” and says she has “been professionally diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, bipolar type II, and PTSD.” She is into comics, “body positivity, mental health awareness . . . astrology” and, of course, “intersectional feminism.”

As might be expected, Ellie has a Tumblr blog, where she posts selfies (“a sexy pink genderless fat orb”) and lectures heterosexuals about the homophobic bigots she refuses to tolerate:

straight people really think that i dont want to be around homophobes because i find their “opinions” unsavory like its disagreeing on economic policy or some shit. the reality is that i dont want to be around homophobic people because they pose a direct threat to me, because i am terrified of them and the potential violence they bring, because feeling their judgment is enough to make me lean back into self hatred and shame. please dont act like my refusal to chill with your local bigot is obstinate and unreasonable

This “refusal to chill” with “straight people” — because the opinions of heterosexuals are a “direct threat” to her — means that the queer intersectional feminist deliberately isolates herself. She can associate only with her fellow queers, because being in the presence of heterosexuals might trigger her feelings of “self hatred and shame.” Ellie asserts that homosexuality is “healing . . . a cleansing and enriching process,” as her “gay love and . . . gay friendships” allow her to “slowly drift farther and farther away from the toxic waste sludge that is straightness.”

Ellie’s anti-heterosexual sentiments are endorsed by her many thousands of followers in Tumblr’s queer feminist community. Because it is so insular — an echo chamber of sad and angry young women — this online community is often treated with dismissive ridicule. The slang term “Tumblrina” was coined to describe an “often unattractive, butthurt, and obnoxious female user of the popular site Tumblr . . . who complains all day on Tumblr about how oppressed they are by men” and “exaggerates prejudice and injustice.” Ellie is a stereotype, in other words, and we must ask, what is causing so many young women to gravitate to this digital “social justice” cocoon of self-pity and amorphous rage?

Well, as I say, Ellie (who used to call herself “Gabi” and whose name is actually Gabrielle) is also on Twitter. One morning in April 2014, when she was a freshman at the local community college, she delivered an interesting Twitter rant about her sexuality:

So, at some point prior to 2014, she had merely “mimicked heterosexuality,” because she wanted to be “normal,” but concluded that it was “silly and absurd to seek the straight man’s approval.” She had suffered from a “deep rooted homophobic fear” of how she would be perceived, but realized it was wrong to “constantly compare my queerness to heterosexuality” because “straightness” is not “the healthy template for love.” At age 18, she refused to continue engaging in “identity policing” which is “toxic.” Now, she realized her sexuality was a “big deal” — with exclamation marks — and caps-lock “GREAT,” and all this she discovered before finishing her freshman year in college.

Whether that was before or after she was “professionally diagnosed” with three different psychiatric disorders, I’m not sure. Nor am I sure that heterosexuality was ever a possible outcome for someone so profoundly disturbed. Even if she could have been rescued from the soul-destroying influence of Tumblr, would heterosexuality be a desirable outcome for Ellie? No wise young man would want to get involved with such a mentally unstable woman. Think about this from a parent’s perspective: Would you want your son married to a kook like that? Would you want her to become the mother of your grandchildren?

No, of course not. Let the lesbians have her.

We could ignore the “sexy pink genderless fat orb,” or laugh at her, were it not for her “intersectional feminism,” which takes the form of a relentless propaganda against men and heterosexuality.

“All Men Are The Same Trash,” you see. Women should hate all men, according to Ellie, because the only thing men ever do is to “deeply perpetually hurt” women, who live in “terror & fear” of men. The only way for women to have “liberation” and “female agency” is to become man-hating queer feminists, like Ellie.

If you object to this “intersectional feminism,” if you disagree with Ellie, it’s only because you’re a homophobe and a bigot, you see.

Remember: Ellie’s anti-heterosexual rant was endorsed by 60,000 Tumblr users, a stadium full of young queer feminists who condemn straight people as a “direct threat” of “potential violence” against them.

My hypothesis is that the same social trends which produce mass murderers like Nicolas Cruz also produce queer feminists like Ellie. The decline of religion, the collapse of the family, the remorseless expansion of the bureaucratic Welfare State, the proliferation of technological substitutes for real-life experience — yes, young people are growing up in a world is gone mad. And rather than resisting this insanity, emotionally disturbed youth instead contribute to the madness, using the Internet as a platform to preach deranged “social justice” ideology.

She’s “disabled,” remember, and “professionally diagnosed” as crazy.

Tumblr Feminism: Is It Worth $3?

Posted on | February 15, 2018 | Comments Off on Tumblr Feminism: Is It Worth $3?

As a digital property, Tumblr is “effectively worthless,” according to financial analysts. The site’s lack of commercial value, however, does not prevent it from being a major platform for the dissemination of feminist ideology. This quote from Gail Dines, for example, was liked and reblogged nearly 3,000 times, and no one inside this online echo chamber ever considered the possibility that Professor Dines is wrong.

The word “slut” means a promiscuous woman. There are very good reasons that promiscuity is stigmatized, not least among them that the slut’s behavior tends to cause men to disrespect women generally. When feminists are ranting about “harassment,” “misogyny,” “rape culture,” etc., does it never occur to them that men’s bad attitudes toward women might, in some sense, be a rational response to female misconduct? For example, if a young man observes women being praised and rewarded for promiscuity in the name of “empowerment” and “equality,” might he not conclude that all women are disloyal and untrustworthy?

If promiscuity is such an essential trait of women’s sexuality that feminists celebrate it as a basic “right,” why should the young man think that women he meets are capable of chastity or monogamy? If all women are constantly searching for their next casual hookup, and have no interest in long-term relationships — for this is what the feminist message of sexual “empowerment” implies — how do we expect the young man to behave toward women? No one can be permitted to criticize promiscuous women, according to Professor Dines, who promotes an amoral standard of “non-judgmentalism” which means that there can be no basis for praise or respect for chaste women.

Perhaps I could continue this discourse endlessly, but the main point I wish to emphasize is this: You should hit my tip jar today.

This blog is a capitalist enterprise, after all, and readers who believe the work I do has real value — as opposed to Tumblr, which is “essentially worthless” — have managed to pay me enough to keep toiling away at it for a decade now. Yesterday, I spent a few hours mining Tumblr in preparation for exposing a new lode of Third Wave feminist craziness, but was interrupted by the school shooting in Florida that seemed worthy of coverage as actual news. Feminists, predictably, declared that the Broward massacre was about “toxic masculinity.” While it is wise to avoid arguing about politics over the bodies of innocent children, no one expects wisdom from Democrats. Did you know that Hillary Clinton won Broward County by more than a 2-to-1 margin? But I digress . . .

Returning to the Tumblr mine today (while babysitting my 3-year-old grandson) I’m reminded of my late friend Andrew Breitbart’s famous adage: “Politics is downstream from culture.” This is why I keep digging up these bizarre and obscure characters on Tumblr:

When I started exploring radical feminism in 2014, one of the first phenomena I discovered was SJW Tumblrinas. Tumblr.com is to social media what syphilis is to bacteria — the absolute worst. When I mused here about why Tumblr is so indescribably wretched, a commenter observed that its format is so “user-friendly” that it takes zero skills, and thus attracts a user base characterized by below-average intelligence. . . .
My research into radical feminism focused largely on academia, quoting major feminist authors and Women’s Studies textbooks. What makes Tumblr valuable to such research is that it shows how Third-Wave gender theory — Feminism Is Queer, to invoke the title of Professor Mimi Marinucci’s textbook — is interpreted by the type of young feminists who consider themselves “social justice warriors” (SJWs). Tumblrinas express feminism as they understand it, which may not be what the typical Women’s Studies professor had in mind, but this is what feminism actually is, as it is disseminated into popular culture as a grassroots phenomenon among young women.

Dear reader, I’ve got a real doozy of a specimen in my sights. One of her messages on Tumblr about the evil homophobia of “straight people” got more than 60,000 notes. You could fill a college football stadium with such a crowd. Imagine what a stadium full of young SJW feminists would look like — a nightmare vision of Hell painted by Hieronymus Bosch. Given that they are so numerous, how do they affect our culture?

So how about $3 for a cup of coffee? There’s a lot of fun to be had doing this work, but there’s also a lot of tedious drudgery, screen-capping their SJW rants and archiving links so that the evidence under scrutiny doesn’t disappear when the Tumblrina panics after being exposed.

Somewhere in Hillsborough County, a plump Tumblrina with a pierced nose has no idea that anyone outside the digital feminist echo chamber has noticed her. Eight or 10 hours from now? Fun, fun, fun.

This fun will require hours of actual work, however, and $3 for a cup of coffee doesn’t seem too much to ask. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: Your Homophobia Is a ‘Direct Threat’ of ‘Potential Violence,’ Says Queer Feminist.
