The Left’s Race Baiting Is Bewildering If You Argue Rationally

Racial slander is like duct tape: There’s no limit to what you can do with it.
But can you imagine how much worse it will get if Republicans actually do reach out to black community (as they should)?
One of the points of racial slander is to signal that only liberal policies are guaranteed to be non-racist (even when such policies were forged with racist intent, like the Davis-Bacon Act). This is why the Congressional Black Caucus insists on calling itself the “conscience of the Congress.”
That’s why policies like school choice are routinely denounced as racist, even though they’re largely aimed at improving the lives of inner-city blacks trapped in bad schools. Teachers unions don’t like school choice, ergo, it’s racist.

The United States is founded upon an Enlightenment approach to rational argument. The myopic genius of the Left has been to rediscover purely hormonal populism, and turn it into political power.

The $16T question is: how do you fight that? Rational argument is predicated upon both parties arguing in good faith. The Left seems to argue from the standpoint of bogging down honest discussion, and running out the clock. Meanwhile, votes are bought on the side with ‘free stuff’, and the Left continues to build the entitled mob.

How do you argue with that? Are there any teachers other than time and pain for these Lefties?

    You don’t argue with ‘that’. You ignore it. It is not worthy of consideration by freedom-loving people. We have to stop granting the Left and it’s perverse ideas any legitimacy, refuse to play by their Rules.

    Let them scream ‘raaaaacisst!’ until they turn blue in the face [and become another grievance-based minority group/tribe]. Ignore them, like the trolls they are.

    This will bother RSM because Amazon does not give a comission on it, but to those of you on a budget this is good advice: Ladies: Want to save on gift $ for your sweety for Christmas? Call him Master for the rest of the year. He will love it better than anything else you could get him.

    The challenge for conservatives is to address the decay in the culture. There used to be dignity in self-reliance, as well as shame in dependence. If we act like nothing more than chimps that throw their own crap, we shouldn’t be surprised when we find ourselves caged. We will be policed by someone. If we don’t police ourselves, the govt will do it for us. It comes back to those intangible values, without which freedom is not possible.

    “Values Voters” are mocked and derided even by those in the GOP. They need to expand their message to include not only the protection of life, but the protection of the quality of life. Turn issues like our national debt, and our lack of borders into moral issues. Remind people not to tell their children that they love them if they’re willing to leave them a country that’s been completely laid to waste.

    The corollary to this that the arguers have to be willing to publically call out those who are NOT arguing in good faith as hypocrites or to otherwise show that they are not arguing in good faith.

    It cannot be just a

    “no, we’re not racist”

    response, it has to be

    “NO. We are NOT racist, and instead of having a rational discussion with us about a serious issue, you would rather scream ‘racist’ than actually consider the damage being done to the community and develop solutions to solve it.”

    I disagree with Bob Belvedere below, ignoring it is EXACTLY how we got into this situation in the first place, because we allowed it to take root in the consciousness, and by not objecting it was a form of tacit admission.

    I showed how it is actually cult like behavior. Another way of putting it using historical terms is it is the return of the counter revolutionary movement called romanticism in response to the rationalism of the Period of Enlightenment

    The point is that you can only change the attitudes of illogical or misinformed people by the use of overwhelming force and persuasion. This doesn’t necessarily have to be violent, think peer pressure, for example.

    You don’t argue with it. You fight it — with openness, relentlessness and joy. Breitbart understood. But he was a phenomenon. The Right in general simply cannot or refuses to engage the Left, does not even try to understand it. I’ve never seen such intractable, idiotic and uncomprehending pacifism. The Left wants to exterminate conservatism; in turn, the Right wants to figure out ways to politically outpace the Left without offending it. Truly amazing. Maybe we deserve extinction.

    Even if Obama had lost and the GOP gained control of the Senate, (1) we would still be repairing the damage done by BHO and Reid and Pelosi and their minions for decades and (2) we be spending a great deal of time battling Romney and McConnell and Boehner.

    Treat people as individuals, don’t pander to them as racial groups. That’s something the left can’t comprehend. They think everything we say is racist, they think criticizing Biden is racist against black people. Can you get a whiter guy than Biden?
