Here’s something else you don’t know. From the age of 3 until age 15 or 16, Trayvon Martin lived NOT with Sybrina Fulton but with Tracy Martin, a known member of the Crips, and his then-wife Alicia Stanley-Martin, who was mentioned above. Alicia Stanley-Martin in that interview with Anderson Cooper said Trayvon spent 90% of his life in her home being raised with her two daughters from a previous relationship.
When Tracy Martin dumped Alicia for Brandy he sent Trayvon to live with Sybrina — a woman he hardly knew. The two didn’t get along at all. Sybrina kicked Trayvon out two days before he jumped Zimmerman.
Oddly, at that point Tracy was living with his sister because he’d dumped Alicia but hadn’t yet convinced Brandy to let him shack up with her and her son Chad. According to Trayvon’s text messages the plan was for him and Tracy to move in with Brandy soon but there was no definite date.
So Sybrina kicked Trayvon out knowing that Tracy had no home of his own, meaning Trayvon had no home to go to other than his aunt’s house where his father was staying.

The part that gets me, however, is that Sybrina would let a known member of the Crips to raise her child from age three. I’m sorry but that’s too messed up for words.
You ought to check out Trayvon’s text messages, the released ones anyway. All evidence points to Tracy initiating Trayvon into the Crips, including purchasing illegal guns on the street. Yes, you read that correctly.
The text messages may be found at the website created and ran by Mark O’Mara. Look at the ten text message reports. Oh, and Tracy Martin’s Crip nickname is “Fruit.”

Is this true? The commenter references the “Third Supplemental Discovery” at George Zimmerman Legal Case, and says that all this information has previously been cited by The Last Refuge, a.k.a. The Conservative Treehouse. I find it difficult to believe that anyone — even the most biased liberal reporter at the New York Times — covering this case would look at that and say, “Irrelevant.”

As I’ve explained elsewhere, I didn’t pay much attention to this story when it broke, because in March/April 2012 I was covering the end of the GOP presidential primary campaign. Controversy about a shooting in Florida wasn’t really on my beat. So you’ll forgive me if I’m re-hashing anything everybody already knew. But . . . Trayvon’s father was a member of the Crips? Really? This is “irrelevant”?

    The commenter’s facts are correct. I’ve read the Conservative Treehouse piece and his links/sources are well annotated and verifiable. If you look at pictures of Tracy Martin’s neck shortly after the shooting, there are Crips tats clearly visible. He’s since had them covered, which to me is just further evidence of trying to hide Trayvon’s background to further the attempted lynching of Zimmerman. It’s also of interest that if Sybrina Fulton or Tracy Martin are stupid enough to pursue a wrongful death or civil rights case against Zimmerman, there is NO question that all the aforementioned facts would be admissable and part of the public dialogue.     As for admissibility, the defense tried to get the text messages admitted into evidence, and the judge ruled against them, which was clear reversible error under Florida law. Why? Because the Florida Supreme Court had ruled in another case that text messages were relevant and admissible, and sent that case back down for a retrial. At any rate, when Martin’s parents are lured into filing a civil suit, all of this will come out. I hope that when it does, Zimmerman’s lawyers have a great PR firm and shout it from the rooftops, a la Paula Deen.

    I’m really failing to see how this has any relevance at all. It’s asking Travon and Trayvon’s family to go on trial for god knows what crap, and ignoring the fact of dead unarmed boy killed by armed vigilante who the police had specifically asked to leave it alone.

    You are entitled to your opinion, but not your own facts. The police never ordered Zimmerman to “leave him alone,” and the 911 operator testified to that at trial. Unarmed? Putting aside that he was armed with his fists and a sidewalk, how is anyone supposed to know that anyone else is unarmed? You assume that they are, especially when they tell you they’re going to kill you.

    Also, Zimmerman waited a DOCUMENTED (it could have been much longer) 45 seconds, all while screaming for help, before he pulled his gun. He had no reasonable expectation Martin would stop, given that EYE WITNESS John Good came out of his condo, told TM to stop or he’d call the cops. When TM failed to stop attacking Zimmerman, Good went inside to call and shortly thereafter Zimmerman exercised his Constitutionally protected right to defend himself. I’d have done the same… I sure as hell wouldn’t have asked my attacker to show me his driver’s license so I could verify he was a legal adult first. #StupidIsAsStupidDoes

    A question has been raised as to why this is relevant. Two reasons that I see, but our host can answer for himself. First, there is a very high probability that there will be a civil suit. In such a suit, all of this is relevant and admissible. Second, the media and grievance mongers purposefully, deliberately, and methodically engaged in the character assassination of George Zimmerman, to the point that it is a miracle he received a fair trial. They painted him a racist with no facts to support that. They ignored his black, Hispanic, and native American grandparents. The prosecution released, illegally, I might add, his transcripts with the sole purpose of embarrassing him and tainting the jury pool. I could go on and on, but people should do their own research and know the facts before they opine. In contrast, Martin was portrayed as a cherub and his brushes with the law and alleged anger management issues were hidden or downplayed, when they actually supported Zimmerman’s story about the events that unfolded that night.

    Except that isn’t what happened. Zimmerman did everything in his power to PREVENT using that weapon. He called police, Treyvon had a phone, he didn’t for some reason. When attacked, Zimmerman called loudly for help knowing he police were on their way and would be there momentarily. As it was, the police officer arrived some 30 to 45 seconds after the gunshot.

    More important is the disinformation going around. Nobody told Zimmerman to remain in his vehicle. He did try to keep Martin in sight but lost him within seconds of leaving his truck. The rest of the 911 call displays that it is obvious that Zimmerman no longer knows where Martin is. Zimmerman is walking on a sidewalk that forms the top of a “T”. Martin’s aunt’s house is at the bottom of the stem of the T. Martin told his girlfriend that he was in his father’s back yard, that would place Martin at the bottom of the stem of the T. Martin would have had to have walked back up the sidewalk between the townhouse units to attack Zimmerman, which is apparently what happened. Zimmerman clearly at that point thought Martin was gone and he was walking to meet the police who were at that point on their way.

    Had Zimmerman drawn his weapon when Martin first confronted him, Martin might still be alive. But it seems that Martin was more interested in doling out an ass whipping.

    What really bother me are the racists who seem to think that it is wrong for someone to use deadly force in defending themselves if the person doing the attacking is black and the person doing the defending isn’t.

    Also, he isn’t a “boy”. He was old enough to be a US Marine. People have won the Medal of Honor at his age.

    Try seven figures. According to an article in the Orlando Sentinel, the homeowners’ association had a $1 million policy. They offered the Martins that figure and that offer of settlement was turned down. What the eventual settlement was is open to speculation but it is believed to be in excess of the $1 million original settlement offer. Thing is, I wonder if that settlement could now be in jeopardy. If Zimmerman’s lawyers get a self-defense ruling from the court, which is nearly assured, that not only gives Zimmerman immunity from any further criminal AND civil action, it might put this settlement in jeopardy. Crump might be a little worried at this point because he would have likely got at least a third of that settlement.
