Rhode Island Red? Patrick Kennedy Announces He Won’t Seek Re-Election

Posted on | February 12, 2010 | 24 Comments

He once called Scott Brown’s Senate campaign a “joke,” but now the Brown Revolution has driven Teddy’s son from Congress:

A Democratic official says Rep. Patrick Kennedy has decided not to seek re-election for his seat representing Rhode Island in the U.S. Congress. . . .
The decision by the eight-term congressman comes less than a month after a stunning Republican upset in the race for the Massachusetts Senate seat his late father, Edward Kennedy, held for almost half a century.

He once called Scott Brown’s campaign a joke? Wasn’t that last week? Plus, just because he’s not running, doesn’t mean he can’t get elected.

So how many people were kept in office by Ted Kennedy’s machine? Cause they are dropping like flies…starting with Ted’s calcified senate seat. Chris Dodd in CT. Patrick Kennedy in RI…New England getting it’s red hackles up?

Scott Brown….it’s been long time coming but I know change gonna come, oh yes it will….

Chris Christie just lowered the boom on Dems spending in New Jersey.

The DNC probably took a look at the polling numbers, and convinced Patches to take one for the team. That way, a ‘respectable’ Democrat can compete for the seat as an ‘outsider’.
Perhaps he also is pulling a ‘Nixon’, a la,
“You won’t have Patches to kick around anymore.” Then, he rehabs his image for a few years, moves to Massachusetts, and runs for
    ‘Teddy’s Seat’ against Scott Brown.
    Hey, it could happen.

    Yo – Patrick Kennedy,

Donald Trump called. He wants his hair back.

Oh, and he also muttered something that sounded like “Yoah fiyad.”
