Remember the Ugly Daughter on the Old ‘Roseanne’ Show? Well, Guess What?

Sara Gilbert quietly came out of the closet during a Wednesday press conference at the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Now 35, the former Roseanne actress and executive producer/co-host of upcoming talk show The Talk has two children with TV producer Allison Adler, but has declined to discuss her private life in the past. . . .
A couple since 2002, Gilbert and Adler have son Levi, 5, and daughter Sawyer, who turns 3 in August. (Adler gave birth to Levi, while Gilbert gave birth to Sawyer.)

Ugly, my foot, when I was a kid I thought she was pretty danged good lookin’ in that grungy, naval gazing kinda way.

I was actually watching some repeats of Roseanne the other night on TV Land and still think she had a lot going for her.

Turns out she was a lesbian, too bad. Gotta be a Hollywood lesbian, though. You know, lesbianism as a career move. Every lesbian I’ve ever met was pretty butch and man-ish. Not meaning that in a derogatory way, they were all good people, but I’m just sayin’. Gilbert still is kinda cute.

Put it this way, Rosie O’Donnel looks like a fairly typical lesbian (although the lunacy is her own). Ellen Degeneres, ditto, if leaner and in better shape. Lindsey Lohan is a cry-for-help lesbian, like your typical pornstar or crackhead. Sara Gilbert…well, she was a child actor and those people get kinda screwed up in the head. And she did grow up doing a show with Roseanne Barr. That’s gotta leave some mental scarring for certain.

Sara Gilbert is NOT a ‘help improve my career’ lesbian – she’s been a lesbian since her teens. That she never chose to discuss her sexual preferences publicly is her business…Portia De Rossi is stunning and certainly not “butch or manly” looking and she too has been a lesbian all her life.

Sara Gilbert was never screwed up in the head, her IQ borders genius and clearly she is smarter than all four of the above commenters – but then again so is my dog.

I have to wonder how you define ” gay men” — what will you do when I share with you that Tom Cruise is gay! What– how is that possible — he’s not to “girly girly” looking. How about Rock Hudson — he was gay — what will you ignorant fools say now — ” Can’t be. it must have been a “career” move — he just doesn’t look girly enough to have sex with men???”

Uh, I don’t think Tom Cruise is terribly fond of being called gay, especially when people insist on insisting he is despite a complete lack of objective evidence.

Note: just because you say he’s gay, does not make him gay.

Note 2: I don’t particularly care about Tom Cruise, but if you really practice what you preached, going around labeling (some would say ‘smearing’–Tom, for instance) someone something they have vehemently denied (and contrary to all available evidence) might be one of those things your momma might frown upon.
