N.Y. Post: Maid’s Rape Accusation Against IMF Chief Was Shakedown by a Hooker

If this story is to be believed, the hotel maid was also known to turn a few tricks to help pay her bills, and Dominique Strauss-Kahn is kind of the Duke lacrosse team of international financiers.

Let it be noted that . . . er, sex industry professionals can indeed be victims of crime, but I’d hate to be the District Attorney presenting a case like this to a jury: “Yeah, she was a part-time hooker, and the defense is going to be able to show that the plaintiff told detectives a half-dozen lies, but you should believe her when she says that the wealthy and powerful Frenchman committed forcible sexual assault against her.”

I’m sure feminists will complain that this is unfair. But complaints about unfairness won’t change the fact that, if the facts are as the Post states, it would be extremely difficult to get a jury to convict DSK.
