Congratulations, @PinkElephantPun!

Tabitha Hale has been hired by the Franklin Center, which means she is now a colleague of Erik Telford, forming an alliance of historic proportions: Lenin and Trotsky, Saccho and Vanzetti, Leopold and Loeb, Molotov and Ribbentrop, Hale and Telford.

The Franklin Center is a non-profit institution evidently dedicated to ensuring that I am never invited to speak on a conference panel.

When Tabitha sent the news to an e-mail list, I replied:

Congratulations, Tabitha. Of course, you can never be replaced, but which one of my worst enemies will fill the job opening at FreedomWorks? If anybody on the list is applying, let me know, and I’ll pre-emptively denounce you, which should count in your favor. On the other hand, if I hate you, I’ll give you a good recommendation that will permanently taint your reputation.

Because I’m helpful like that.

A pretty girl can make suckers out of conservatives overnight.  Look at Christine O’Donnell.

We have plenty of attractive women who’ve worked at it for years to achieve the sort of fame and success Hale has managed to get in no time flat – Mary Katherine Ham, Lorie Byrd, etc.   Tabitha was fortunate enough to enter politics at a time when conservatives had been rocked by tough ass-kickings in 2006 and 2008 and were in a state of disarray.  Then Santelli let it out and the Tea Party movement was born, and she was like a novice surfer who hopped The Big Wave by accident.

But what good is success for a young person if you can’t lord it over all the people who’ve been working for years amassing skills and resumes only to be bypassed by a pretty face with a plunging neckline?

    …But, mostly the plunging neckline.

RSM: Burning bridges to people who never invited you walk their planks in the first place.

If that’s not Gonzo journalism, I don’t know what is.

BTW, the joke is still redundant and funny… but mostly funny.

I happen to think that @pinkelephantpun  has worked quite hard and deserves everything she has earned, modulo the guff Stacy insists on giving her.

Ms. Hale is a legend in her own mind.

If you’ve been working for years amassing skills and resumes and were bypassed by a pretty face with a plunging neckline, it sounds like YOU did something wrong and SHE did something right. Jealousy is a foul beast that mocks the meat upon which it feeds.

I like her, she’s a pretty lady. Smart too. Yeah, I’ve given her some shat in the past. But I still think she’s very pretty.
