Ashley Judd Makes Cruel and Tasteless Jokes About Abortion in Political Video

Barren middle-aged actress Ashley Judd in scene from
‘Rick Santorum Aborts Presidential Campaign’ video

When last we heard from bitter, childless, menopausal Ashley Judd, the over-the-hill ex-starlet gave us a feminist lecture about how she was being victimized by the oppressive gossip-blog patriarchy.

Last week, however, Judd joined forces with three more attractive actresses — fellow Hollywood liberals Michelle Trachtenberg, Katy Mixon and Eliza Coupe — in a video mocking Rick Santorum’s decision to end his presidential campaign by comparing it to an abortion:

“Oh, Mr. Santorum, take a seat. I understand you’d like to terminate your candidacy. . . . If you weren’t mature enough to carry your candidacy to term, you shouldn’t have engaged in the risky behavior that began it.”

Jennifer Hartline at Catholic Online is outraged:

The stars of the “choice” universe have gone way beyond their worn-out euphemisms and are now embracing shameless mockery. Ashley Judd and crew have made a video that mocks the act of killing babies in the womb. They mock the violence of stopping the heartbeat of a child. What a hilarious analogy they’ve drawn by comparing an abortion to Rick Santorum’s suspended Presidential campaign, if you’re someone who finds dead babies and wounded mothers hilarious. Apparently they do. . . .
So this is what we’ve come to? This is the present and future of “feminism” in America? Women openly mocking the deaths of their own children; deaths fought long and hard for; deaths campaigned and paid for; deaths celebrated as “freedom” and “rights” for women? I’d say that’s officially the bottom, folks. There’s nowhere lower to sink. That’s as pathetic and wicked as it gets.

It is customary, on certain feminist blogs, to include “trigger warnings” before discussion of topics such as sexual assault that may prompt emotional reactions caused by psychologically traumatic memories. Therefore, in consideration of the millions of women suffering from Post-Abortion Syndrome, I offer a “trigger warning” for this video which was — oh, just by the way — directed by a man, Andy Maxwell:

Jill Stanek notes that Bill O’Reilly recently “dedicated a segment of his show to Judd, predicting her career would certainly suffer for her overt support of abortion,” but forgive me for suspecting that Judd’s suffering is more personal than professional.

We’re two weeks away from Mother’s Day, and no child will ever give the adamantly pro-abortion Ashley Judd a Mother’s Day gift.

Just a coincidence, I’m sure.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.
— Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)

Exit Question: Are women who celebrate abortion as a positive good attempting to compensate for unacknowledged psychological trauma and/or deep-seated feelings of personal inadequacy?

You will not silence my message.
You will not mock my God.
You will stop killing my generation.

My six children have all worn that T-shirt. Your kids should, too.

UPDATE: Linked by SarahNet and by Donald Douglas at American Power — thanks! — while Lisa Graas says:

On the bright side, Ashley Judd has given me many opportunities to show my two daughters what a complete failure looks like.

UPDATE II: Thoughtful words from Daria DiGiovanni:

Regardless of your position on abortion, how anyone can gleefully spin it as anything other than a tragedy for both mother and child is beyond my comprehension, especially since I know a handful of women personally who’ve been absolutely traumatized by this grisly procedure.

This is just basic: Leave aside entirely any consideration of politics or law, and think of the dreadful human misery involved. Abortion clinics are not happy places where good things happen. It is therefore easy to understand why so many people are emotionally outspoken against abortion. What is utterly incomprehensible is how anyone other than the most heartless sadists could be passionately pro-abortion.

  1. I don’t think it’s psychological (maybe psycho though) or deep-seated anything.  They’re just not nice people.  I’m at the point that I won’t even watch a movie that some of these liberals are in.

  2. Alternate post title:  “Four Has-Beens Make A Lame SNL Sketch Two And A Half Weeks Too Late”

It’s even better than that:  At least Judd got first billing in a few big budget feature flicks back in the 90’s.  Trachtenberg, Mixon and Coupe are second and third bananas in D-list junk.

  3. In answer to your exit question, probably true.  Miz Judd just seems to be trying to jump-start a failed career and happens to be failing at that too.  Abortion is murder in any rational thinking persons mind. I say that as someone that would have to be dragged kicking and screaming profanities into a church.

  4. “Baby killers” indeed.

Is there anything at all that is immune from being reviled by liberals one decade and praised by them the next?

  5. When I see videos like this, it’s clear to me liberals REALLY wanted to run against Rick Santorum and all of those issues.  They don’t want to talk about the economy or the fact we’re about to become the next Greece.  That’s probably why so many of them crossed over and voted in the GOP primary for Santorum.

If you really want to see these disgusting liberals squirm, visualize their faces when Obama and Michelle are kicked to the curb.

  6. Scapegoating — the externalization of blame — is a classic narcissistic personality trait: The damaged ego engaged in self-defense rationalizations seeks justification by presenting itself as morally superior to demonized others. One wonders what sort of anti-depressant medication Ashley Judd is using to cope with her feelings of guilt, shame and worthlessness.

  7. If Santorum had won the nomination they would have succeeded in running on those issues. He just couldn’t side step the baiting.

  8.  This is going to sound terribly callous, but I don’t want to know – because I just don’t care.

  9.  I resent your labeling “Buffy The Vampire Killer” as D-list junk. That was first-line, A-list junk, and mighty tasty.

  10.  One wonders what sort of anti-depressant medication Ashley Judd is using
to cope with her feelings of guilt, shame and worthlessness.

Food. It just hasn’t caught up to her that much yet, but judging by her dipshit of a sister, it will eventually.

  11.  It’s a small mercy, I suppose, that Planned Parenthood hasn’t tried to revive Moloch worship in more than just their deeds.

  12. I agree, and the irony is, a conservatives like Santorum that gets caught in the weeds on stuff like this are usually the gift that keeps on giving for the pro-infanticide crowd.  It actually takes the social conservative movement backwards.

My advice?  Don’t use politicians to address the Culture War.

  13. Okay I watched the video, Stacy you’re mad because they’re making fun of Santorum as much as over the abortion angle. I’ll give it two out of five stars. More just lame than anything but it was a clever concept. And who are these attractive stars who are supposed to be in this thing. I saw one that was kind of cute. Judd and the others-meh.

    As for this-

Leave aside entirely any consideration of politics or law

But you can’t leave it aside, especially politics, because that’s all any of this is about, politics, especially gender politics. As long as there are a significant percentage of the population that care only about their own material comforts, there will be more than enough politicians willing to pander to them, and more than enough black robed freaks to back them up. Questions of right and wrong, good and evil, are rendered subjective. It doesn’t help when you have a government and bureaucratic system engaged in creating a brave new world on the national and international level no one wants to bring a child up in.

People like Ashley Judd aren’t the problem, they’re just the boil that erupts to the surface.. acting as advocates of what is as much a business model as anything else.

  14. Which is better? For this sort of vitriol to come out in the open (and it does not take an incredibly intelligent person to recognize just how ugly these women are making themselves in this video) or allowing it the protected status it has now by not calling it out?

Are we really any better off for it?
I thought conservatives/Republicans relished the idea of taking the fight to the Left?

  15. Boy, Ashley Judd has really let herself go.  What’s she into these days?  Competitive eating?

She could at least wear something more flattering, like baggy sweats.

Two words, Ashley:  Low carbs.  ‘Nuff said!

  16. In answer to Jennifer Hartline — no  my dear, this is not the lowest, not by half, not yet; don’t worry, it’s coming.

These women are not traumatized…they are spoilt and self-indulgent; they would engage in the sort of behavior the Countess Bathory was notorious for if they thought they could get away with it (and they may still)…anything to feed their desire to live forever and allay their fears of growing old (mortality is the one thing that “traumatizes” them — pity them at your own risk).  There are many like them now; soon I think we will find out just how many (and they are on the right as well as the left, and all points inbetween).

  17. Ash, first, it’s his campaign and his choice.

Second, mocking a guy who got out of the race is not classy. Didn’t the Kappas at UK go over this with you?

  18. Hmmm?  Sorry, I’m not quite following your response.

But I would say that if any real change in the direction of our country is going to take place (at least a positive change) then cultural issues will have to be addressed, and on this conservatives have a good chance of getting the high ground — they are well capable of calling the left out for the fight.

The behavior of this group of hagfish is an excellent example: the “humor” here was way too strident, way too strained…they are no longer holding a position of strength, and I believe they know it too.
The time to start striking would be now — yet nothing happens and the opportunity goes to waste.
Get them out into the open (like Savage) and nail them, no?

  19. It’s too bad. She was one of the better actresses. But, after seeing her turn into a partisan animal, I have no interest in seeing her anymore. It colors everything.

  20.  Or maybe she’s bitter because she can’t have children of her own. Or maybe she’s just a typical leftist hag who wants to jump on board any leftist cause that will keep her name in the spotlight, and in contention for the next part under some dipshit leftist director. Or maybe she’s just a bitch, period. Or maybe she genuinely believes she’s on the right side of this issue. My guess is, probably some combination of all of the above.

  21. Oh, man, Ashley Judd is an alumna of my alma mater, the University of Kentucky, and she really is gorgeous.  I’d have given Donald Douglas’ left testicle to sleep with her.  🙂

  22. What’s she into these days? Competitive eating?

Now, Adjoran, don’t be so insensitive: Many women experience weight gain after menopause and (quite frankly), some of us middle-aged guys aren’t quite as lean and fit as we used to be. However, unlike Ashley Judd, most of us at least have some emotional comfort in knowing that we have offspring — like my four sons and two daughters — to carry forward our legacy.

“Ashley had dead ovaries with virtually no eggs”? Just tabloid gossip, I’m sure.

  23.  Some might be, but I doubt this one is. The best way to approach this issue is by addressing the underlying root causes.

Not the least of which is who wants to bring a child into this world with all the attendant problems and related expenses of child-raising. Think of all the problems we face all over the place, and give me a good reason to bring a child into this crap.

And who are all these problems caused by? The very same lawyers, activists, bureaucrats, politicians, and leftist black-robed freaks who promote abortion to begin with.

Change the overall conditions of society, change the culture, and gradually you change people’s hearts. All the latest scientific data on the viability of life in the womb has made some slight inroads, but even that’s only good for so much, because we’re dealing here with a phenomenon that is not based on reason to begin with.

While all the other melodramatic approaches, such as marching out in front of abortion clinics, tossing fake blood on people, shoving pictures of aborted fetuses in their faces, and political diatribes aimed at haranguing abortion supporters, while it might be emotionally satisfying, is never going to move the ball closer to the goal posts.

Establishing a government system based on common sense economics and conservative, federalist principles will accomplish the goal quicker than any head-on approach ever could hope to do. People just have to have some kind of hope for stability, and the sense that the world might be worth raising a family in after all.

  24. You should watch the 1996 HBO movie Norma Jean and Marilyn for research. It features nudes scenes by both Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino.

Ashley’s nude “dream” scene where she sits naked in a church pew and then comes up to the altar is really quite outrageous.

  25. Honestly, no, I don’t want Presidential nominees “calling out” Ashley Judd or other celebrities on their disgusting views on infanticide.

Anyone remember Dan Quayle’s crusade against Murphy Brown?  Did that turn the tide in our favor?

Honestly, I love it when Hollywood  flies its freak flag, my advice to conservatives is expose it, but don’t get Republican officeholders involved.

The way I plan on fighting the Culture War is raising my daughters to know abortion is immoral.  That’s far more powerful than some stupid YouTube clip from a C-celebrity.

  26. Ashley Judd is all hostile to the world now because when she became old and fat she also became irrelevant and nobody but the pro-corpse crowd wants her around, and only if it helps their agenda,  while her sister, Wynona, is beloved by many no matter how much she weighs or how she ages, because Wynona has talent and Ashley was only worth as much as her next nude scene.  When whores become unattractive they lose their allure, however, music can live forever.
And when Wynona opens up publilcy about her personal issues, it tends to help people who’ve had similar problems who can identify with her and may even inspire people to work to overcome their own problems, and is also usually pretty interesting anyway, but when Ashley does it, she’s basically just whining that everything not going her way is somebody else’s fault and it’s annoying to behold.
Wynona is a sympathetic figure, while Ashley is just pathetic. No wonder she’s so bitter and mean, she’s jealous.
