Update: in reply to the query about “undermining and sapping the GOP voting base” in the comments, I’ll tell the GOP the same I’d tell BHO: respect is an earned commodity, Mike Foxtrot. Via RedState. Nicking the summary:

  • Only 20 members of the House have voted for every amendment to cut spending. All are Republicans.
  • 50 members of the House have voted against every amendment to cut spending. 49 are Democrats. One is a Republican (Bonner).
  • The average Republican voted for spending cuts 59% of the time. (Republican Freshman are only slightly better at 60%.)
  • The average Democrat voted for spending cuts 6% of the time.
  • The nine Republicans, including four freshmen, who have least often voted to cut spending are: Bonner 0%, Meehan 4%, LaTourette 4%, Bass 4%, Simpson 4%, Lucas 4%, King, P. 4%, Grimm 4%, and Dold 4%
  • The eight Democrats who have most often voted to cut spending are: Matheson 32%, Rush 31%, Kucinich 30%, Polis 28%, Cooper 20%, McIntyre 17%, Velazquez 17%, and Honda 17%

We talking about the same GOP? The same folks who cave whenever their invites to martinis are threatened? The same folks who hate the TEA Party and conservatives and want to compromise with Nancy and Harry?

Don’t think so. Maybe in Reagan’s (PBUH) day.

If you were to start a blog with the purpose of undermining and sapping the GOP voting base, how would it differ from this one?

Do you mean infusing the GOP with some actual Tea Party interest in liberty? Probably wouldn’t differ much.

Because lying to it and being good little toadies for the party and its cause is so inherently American, right?

So far this site has been pretty tame and patient with the establishment — if they decided to just go for it the results would be much more bloody.
So what does this tell us?  Perhaps that the GOP (like their sister party on the left) has some ‘splainin’, some apologizing, and some getting right to do with its voters (aka. the American public).

How does one not compromise with a majority, you half-wit? Resign?

  16. DaveO
    June 14th, 2012 @ 5:48 pm

Chuck, you beautiful POS, you make the majority compromise their position and move to your side.

A compromise is the result of negotiation. A compromise is a mutually acceptable action.

Democrats never compromise. They take what they want, and flip the bird at the rest of us.  Obamacare, EPA regs, Borking justices and judges – when do they compromise? Never. To believe otherwise is a fool’s fantasy.

If you cough, and you can see daylight, you should get help pulling your head out of your ass. You’re in too deep.

True – very patient with the bootlickers and their syncophants.

What’s the difference between Jerry Lewis and a drunken sailor?

Drunken sailors don’t spend Other People’s Money.

You have “shitting all over” confused with “infusing”. All you’re doing is tearing down the only thing we have to work with for the sake of self satisfaction. It’s about as noble as a fart in an elevator.

If that’s the case then we’re going to have to find a different way to distinguish the Ds and the Rs (at least the establishment ones).

I guess we’ll have to go with: drunken sailors who are drunk on tequila and drunken sailors who are drunk on whiskey…and the stealth establishment types who call them selves Tea Partiers (and have been the bane of that movement) are the ones drunk on beer.

No matter how they got there, they’re still puking in your yard.
