Caught! CNN’s Soledad O’Brien Uses Liberal Blog TPM for Show-Prep

Posted on | August 13, 2012 | 21 Comments

America’s Least Popular Cable-News Personality™ graduated from Harvard, but Soledad O’Brien is so ill-informed that, when she got flustered during an interview with Republican spokeswoman Barbara Comstock, she resorted to reading a Talking Points Memo blog post to find some decent . . . well, talking points.

Ali Akbar caught this while watching CNN, and if you look very close at the enlarged image you can see that it’s an e-mail — this was something sent to her. By whom? We don’t know, but the point is that rather than doing her own research on issues, Soledad is relying on people e-mailing her liberal blog posts.

“The Most Trusted Name in News”? She’s a disgrace.

UPDATE: More reaction at Twitchy and at Newsbusters, where Noel Sheppard says, “Bravo, Ali! Bravo!”

UPDATE II: BTW, I’m not kidding about Soledad being America’s Least Popular Cable-News Personality™ — her ratings in March set a historic low for CNN. There’s just something about her that makes people change the channel.

[…] Just when I go out and give CNN and Wolf Blitzer some credit for actually doing their job when he owned Wasserman-Schultz over her MediScare tactics, this happens. Loony toons Soledad O’Brien was caught using leftist blog Talking Points Memo propaganda to bash Paul Ryan and start up again with those Mediscare tactics. […]

Mika Brzezinski cannot be very impressed with O’Brien’s technique. Never, NEVER, lift talking point copy up to the camera. It’s best to either a) memorize JournoList 2.0 material beforehand or b) keep the copy flat against the set desk when regurgitating.

Freakin’ amateurs. Harvard is graduating some very low-quality students.

RE Update II: all I have to say, who wants to listen to unoriginal sanctimonious lefties on the boob tube?  Olby demonstrated what it takes to saturate THAT market.

Insomnia brought me here… Zilla – asshole commenter – your pjm rejection post – here.

At least you have made it to the point to where you expect not to be rejected. And you are doing something that you like to the point that you can actually feel jilted. That is more than most people have.

I have never reached that pinnacle of success.

My job is sitting in a power plant control room, which I hate.  I keep my job regardless of personality issues, because I can do it unsupervised where most people can’t. The product I sell is this ability.

The product you sell is certainly your skill, but also your likeability —  which is a much more risky proposition.

I blog at im41 expecting to be rejected at every turn. You can’t  expect to become good at one thing without becoming worse at another, and not being good couple with not caring who you piss off is a sure way to get rejected. But getting rejected and feeling rejected are two different things.

I have always  wanted to be able to write for a living. Being the next Pat McManus was one of my daydreams. It just seems like it would be about the most rewarding thing you could do for a living.

Well besides being a bra-fitter in the mall.

So enjoy the fact that occasionally being cut out of the loop can wound your peace.

It takes more than a pretty face to sell a show.

I think it would be a lot more interesting if the entire MSM came out publicly for the left.

    Not hired for her brains.

Back when they hired her, she was the young hottie at the G4 cable channel, which by then maybe had morphed into Tech TV or something.

Now probably half of her record-low audience is conservatives waiting for her to do something stupid and outrageous.

Based on the crowd of harvard grads being discredited, one wonders if that liberal, elitist progressive school isn’t now controlled by marxist/leninist thought and deed.
