Why does accused sex offender Kaitlyn Hunt think she has a “right” to have sex with 14-year-olds? Perhaps because she lives in Florida, where some officials seem to think enforcing the law is optional, and dangerous sex offenders are released to rape again:
594 sex offenders were convicted of new sex crimes after being reviewed under the Jimmy Ryce law since it took effect in 1999. . . .
For every sex offender the state has committed under the 14-year-old Ryce law, two others have been released — only to be arrested again for a sex crime.
From South Florida to the Panhandle, these men have cut a fresh trail of pain, molesting more than 460 children, raping 121 women, and killing 14.
Many offenders attacked again only days after Florida let them go. Six found new victims the same day they walked out the prison gates. . . .
[T]he head of the agency that screens sex offenders said she would investigate what changes should be made.
Esther Jacobo said the Department of Children & Families would analyze a sample of reoffenders the newspaper identified to determine what went wrong as it reviews the program from top to bottom.
“The only thing I can hope is that we come up with something better so that we get a larger percentage of these guys not to hurt people anymore,” said Jacobo, the agency’s interim secretary. “The biggest wish would be that we could stop it all. I’m not naive enough to think that that’s going to happen, but I think we can do better.”
Some changes already are under way. The department has convened a team of mental health experts to review how Florida identifies sex predators. And, on a single day in June, the agency suddenly recommended continued confinement for 19 sex offenders — as many as it had in all of 2012.
Those actions came too late to protect 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle.
This summer, Jacksonville mourned the little girl who was abducted from a Walmart, raped and strangled, her 60-pound body dumped behind a church.
Her accused killer: A registered sex offender freed three weeks earlier.
You can read the whole thing. On average, once every nine days — 42 times a year, for the past 14 years — Florida has released a convicted sex offender who will commit another sex crime.

Sex offenders should never be released. Besides incarceration, they should have their nuts cut off with a rusty knife.
Damn Disqus! Double post.
All they deserve is a slit trench and a .45 to the back of the head.
Re-offender problem eliminated.

Old Sparky was made for these guys.
The real bitterness is that for every sex offender Florida releases, you just know California is stupid enough to release five.
Wanna know why it doesn’t work?
“Every day, I have regrets that she got hurt,’’ he said. “I done ask for forgiveness a million times.’’
What sticks out in that quote?
Sexual predators do what they do because it’s what they are. Treating them as basic criminals misses the point, because they will not be “rehabilitated” by incarceration. It may not be possible currently to rehabilitate them at all. Make them serve time, “pay their debt,” then release, and they will do what they do. Again and again.

The hangman’s noose is more cost effective. And the slit trench can still be used.

Only if you reuse the rope, which may break on the next use. The .45 to the base of the skull is much quicker, and costs less than replacing the rope every time.
Now, if you want to extract the maximum pain, then the Garrote is quite effective, and quite painful as the body goes into severe oxygen debt.

The majority of sexual predators are normal people, they aren’t psychotic. Contrary to what you claim, the problem is they are basic criminals – and should go to prison. Prison is not therapy; it’s justice and a way to keep society safe from predators. Nothing in that should prevent society from teaching young people that being perverted regarding sexuality is not acceptable. And teaching everyone that sexuality is everybody’s business.
American society is pushing a ton of conditioning on its people to become more and more sexually perverted and to accept perversion simply because it pops into the mind of sexual pig. “Just a variation of normal sexuality” goes a long way to making every pervert think they can do whatever they want, because it’s ‘normal’ and ‘justified’.
don’t forget the women…
Heh. I almost said skinning the bastard and rubbing in kosher salt …
“…that she got hurt”
No acceptance of responsibility.
I knew you’d nail it.

Prison is for people who can be rehabilitated. For those who can not, hang them. The cost of prisons financially on society could be cut to an eighth by eliminating those who can not be rehabilitated. That is just to society, and to the offender.
Well, of course you re-use the rope! Then the greenies can’t complain about the executions not being eco-friendly.
And I said “cost effective”, not “efficient”. Further, you can stretch out the mean time between failures by using quality material, tying the knot properly, and inspecting for wear and tear between uses. And if the rope breaks, well, just try again. It’s not like the rapist deserves any sort of consideration.
But, yes, a .45 to the back of the head is more efficient, especially in terms of throughput.
The problem is what gets called a ‘sex offender’ nowadays. A college student caught streaking can get slapped with a ‘sex offender’ label.
I should have been more succinct. I meant perverts who actually sexually abuse people.
I don’t consider streaking or sending sex pics to your girl/boy friend or spouse a sex offense…stupid and immoral, yes, but not a sex offense.
What would your suggestion be for women pedophiles?

Require that all released offenders must live in the homes of the government officials who recommend their release.
Problem solved.
I think the problem here is that the people making the laws and the sentencing are themselves perverted, sexually, and can’t find it within themselves to mete out the justice killers of innocence deserve. Dollars to donuts these officials are in to pornography and all sorts of lewd practices. Our culture is so morally debased it’s a wonder there remain any decent people at all.
And what the recidivism rate for sexual predators? Something like a zillion percent, give or take? You really think abducting a young woman, duct taping her mouth, and raping her repeatedly is some kind of “oopsie?” What kind of “teaching” is there to make a person like that say “Golly I never looked at it like that before – yeah, I can see how somebody might think I went over the line.”
