A guy named David Eckert of Deming, New Mexico, was suspected of concealing an entire drug cartel in his colon. Or maybe he just ran a stop sign and some cops with nothing better to do decided they had probable cause to get all up into David Eckert’s ass:
Eckert’s attorney, Shannon Kennedy, said in an interview with KOB that after law enforcement asked him to step out of the vehicle, he appeared to be clenching his buttocks. Law enforcement thought that was probable cause to suspect that Eckert was hiding narcotics in his anal cavity. While officers detained Eckert, they secured a search warrant from a judge that allowed for an anal cavity search. . . .
Eckert was subjected to repeated and humiliating forced medical procedures. A review of Eckert’s medical records, which he released to KOB, and details in the lawsuit show the following happened:
1. Eckert’s abdominal area was x-rayed; no narcotics were found.
2. Doctors then performed an exam of Eckert’s anus with their fingers; no narcotics were found.
3. Doctors performed a second exam of Eckert’s anus with their fingers; no narcotics were found.
4. Doctors penetrated Eckert’s anus to insert an enema. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
5. Doctors penetrated Eckert’s anus to insert an enema a second time. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
6. Doctors penetrated Eckert’s anus to insert an enema a third time. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
7. Doctors then x-rayed Eckert again; no narcotics were found.
8. Doctors prepared Eckert for surgery, sedated him, and then performed a colonoscopy where a scope with a camera was inserted into Eckert’s anus, rectum, colon, and large intestines. No narcotics were found.
All because “he appeared to be clenching his buttocks.” Like he was hiding Pablo Escobar and the Cali cartel in his butt or something.
Not even gonna THINK about formal training prospectus needed to teach cops “Butt Clenching Observation Techniques”. http://t.co/mI6RQwa14h“
The judge needs to be removed from the bench immediately.
In the meantime I’m clamping down on “crack”…..mine. This guy should sue for post traumatic stress syndrome and the cops and judge should be introduced to brother “bubba”….and his chain, chain, chain of fools. This had to be a personal vendetta or warning. How could they call themselves cops when they were up this mans orifice that many times and couldn’t even manage to plant evidence?
I would not take what the plaintiff’s lawyer says at face value.
Likely in the job description of the new Obamacare “Navigators”.
And now, it’s time to play “Guess the Asshole!” http://t.co/NLojRueVkw (by @rsmccain)
The White Pages listing locates a David Eckert in Lordsburg, N.M. sixty miles from that WalMart. That’s in the bootheel of the state. That David Eckert is 52 years old or thereabouts. One might have though grey hair or pattern baldness might offer some protection against this sort of thing.

Why do I have the ability to edit everyone’s comments? I really, really want to abuse this power. But mostly, I want to abuse this power with respect to Kirby. Where is he right now?
Oh Kirby? Kirby McCaaaain? Where are you hiding? I am coming for your comments.
Looks like Disqus was giving everyone powers over everyone for a little while there.
I agree. In fact they should probably be fired, definitely disciplined.
It’s still stupid to piss off a cop.
This is a tragedy. I really wanted to post something on one of his comments and now I’ve lost my super-power. I feel so…mortal.
I think I’d be skipping it altogether now.
Six or seven cops are listed as defendants.
“Sensitivity” training with batons could be effective.

That was from the news report. They had copies of the warrants, the medical reports and the hospital bills. I’m not making this up.
Legally, he may have been. He never consented to the procedures and there was a nurse on another site who was saying that the police and doctors should be charged with rape. The procedures were unnecessary and another doctor had previously told the police it was medically unethical to perform them. Without the patient’s consent, performing a medically unnecessary procedure repeatedly…a case could be made. The question is, will a case be made?
Great minds think alike. I couldn’t help but think of Bill Schmalfeldt yelling at his computer after reading this “Details! I want all the details! C’mon, you can give me a better description of the full cavity search than that!”
A loooooooooooong session of what we in the Military called “Wall to Wall Counseling.”
All of 52?!!!! How in the world did he manage to get out of his rocker and escape the home? Why was someone that ancient out unattended? Does the poor old, greying/balding creature have no family?
Trying to think of a clever umbrella drink named after Abu Luima.
Hospital is trying to make him pay? You must be shitting me…..
And also sue them for every penny they got. That alone will give those cops a painful lesson.
In some states you can sue the Jurisdiction, and the bureaucrat as an agent of the jurisdiction, placing the crat on the line too. Unfortunately, the Police tend to be in a different category and are often held blameless, or at least not liable, even when they are as guilty as original sin.
The Police need to start realizing it’s not wise to PO a citizen. They, after all, are supposed to be our servants, not theirs.
No, but I think this may be a report about a Police Force trained by BS.
Maybe he was in a defensive posture, you never know about all of this affirmative action for gay fellows in the police department.
What judge signed off on probable cause due to butt clenching?
All governments are screwing their citizens in the a$$ one way or another. This is the most direct method, I have seen in a awhile, they usually stop at the wallet pocket, However, some cops in New Mexico are obviously gay and this event should rank as a rape.
Hello for a police state.
Also appears to be another example of a “drug” dog that appears to alert when the controlling officer wants it to generate probable cause.

Solitary confinement is like a picnic compared to this.
I hope the man had the wit about him to either blow a giant fart as the attendant kneeled to insert the latex finger or perhaps take a $hite on his hand. I would.
The problem with this story is that its sole source is the guy’s lawyer. How about hearing the other side’s version? What if the guy was known to police to be a drug trafficker? What if he previously used the “anal method” to move drugs? I know this does not justify the whole thing done by the police, but it would show at lease a basis for their suspicion.
Rectum? Hell, they nearly killed him.
I think it might be time to legalize #drugs and criminalize policing.

Which ‘they’ and what did they display? They quoted the plaintiff’s lawyer, full stop.
Could be true or could be spin. You need to reserve some judgment in these matters.

What. The. Hell?
I would expect the tv stations doing this report might have told us if this 63 year old was previously a drug trafficker. On the other hand, that might indicate more competence than they normally exhibit, so you might have a point. Of course, you might have also expected the police chief to note that, if nothing else, while he was on camera, saying that it was all according to procedures.
Did you view the video?

Medical records confirm the procedures were performed. I don’t think it is overly credulous to believe the guy when he says he didn’t consent.
