Destructive Totalitarian ‘Equality’

The various “-isms” of left-wing ideology are really just variations of a destructive anti-social nihilism, whose purpose was forever defined more than 150 years ago when, in their Communist Manifesto, Marx and Engels declared: “The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.” Once you understand this profound hostility to social order — the misfit’s appetite for anarchy — then you realize that whatever grievance they complain of is really just a pretext. They do not actually wish to reform society. Rather, they seek revenge against society, and don’t care that others are harmed by their acts of destruction, except insofar as they actively desire such harm.

The Left hates America not for its failures, but for its successes. Our peace, prosperity and liberty are a rebuke to the hateful fanaticism of our nation’s enemies, both foreign and domestic. If the Left told the truth about its intentions, they could never succeed. Their dishonesty is therefore integral to their destructive purposes:

The calls for equality and tolerance are simply convenient excuses and lies that serve only to destroy social norms so that they may be replaced by the Left’s own visions. They themselves will refuse to show the tolerance that they demand of others. This is because they define the views they disagree with as “intolerance,” “H8,” et al. and the opposition to those views as necessarily being for “tolerance” and against “H8? regardless of the actual lack of tolerance or hatred that they show. . . .
In order to support this manichean worldview, intolerance, oppression, and hate must be defined as the Cultural Maxist “superstructure” of straight White “cis-gendered” “X-tian” males who created social norms for the sole purpose of securing their unjust privileges by oppressing everyone else. The Left then sets up history as a progression of this “oppression” to one of “equality” and “democracy.” This “progress” is defined as being in manichean opposition to the founding principles of this country, and our Anglo-Saxon heritage upon which it was built.

    That might be more interesting to contemplate than simply making observations of their activities.

  5. The really terrific thing about insisting upon fairness as the basis of your society is that it requires some overreaching authority to impose it, and that need will always exist since the universe is not intrinsically fair.

    Or the shorter explanation: progressives lust for ultimate power.

  6. My parents couldn’t stand whining. If my brothers or I ever complained that something was “not fair,” my father’s response was, “Son, who ever told you life was supposed to be fair?”

    Today, however, such childish whining is not merely indulged but actively encouraged.

    I’m not spending any thought on this, but questions I’d like to have seen in the survey would be like:

    – is or was date rape a problem in your college?
    – do you have at least 3 friends who binge drink normally?
    – do you think homosexuality is normal?
    – have you taken out a loan for your higher ed?
    – (OK, so they had the question about parents being divorced)
    – in the last 24 hours, did you call anyone a bigot?
    -did you watch at least one movie in 3D in the last month?
    – do you watch Girls or do you think it’s a good show?
    – In the last 24 hours, did you get embroiled in some stupid bickering using Twitter?

    OK, so this is more inclined to identify liberal millennials, but…

  8. I hate lazy people. I was going to blog on this conversation I had with this stupid lazy woman, but here it is:

    Woman is late 30s (my guess) with a child, divorced some time ago. While socializing, I met the woman and she starts going on about how difficult things are because she’s having a lot of trouble finding a job. I start to feel sorry for her situation, “unemployed with a child, rough times” yada yada.

    So then I ask her if she used to work before she had the child. “Yes, I was a secretary.” So why don’t you try getting a job again in that? “Because it’s been awhile, I can’t type as fast now.”

    Facepalm.

    (Why, you lazy woman, don’t you get on your computer every single day and start practicing typing again so that you can get a job, instead of watching TV and socializing all day?)

    Of course, that’s just not possible.

  11. You’ve described the perennial war of Good versus Evil. God presents order, stratification, peace. The Devil is an anarchist using chaos, resentment, and pride to disrupt peace. Politics is the human mirror of the war of rebellion of the Devil against God.

  14. It’s all about power, nothing else. “Equality” and “social justice” are vague terms, but that fits well because the socialists’ goal is to assume power. They NEED power to bring “equality” and “social justice.”

    Once they get power, they find it isn’t enough to effect full equality and social justice. So they need MORE power. And when that also just isn’t quite enough, they need more, and so on and so on until they have absolute power.

    After they have absolute power, they send anyone who speaks of “equality” or “social justice” to the gulag as an Enemy of the State.

  15. It is a great question. I can only think that they honestly believe they are doing a social good and that their policies will somehow result in a more Utopian world.

    A more pragmatic view is that the Prince of Darkness is having a field day.

  17. While it ultimately ends up being about gaining Power and Control and maintaining it, in the vast majority of cases, the desire for P&C arises out of a starting belief in wanting to ‘teach the world to sing in perfect harmony’, as it were.

    Eventually, the believer in Heaven On Earth comes to realize that most people have no desire for their rose-colored world, scented with unicorn farts, so, having rejected Morality and Truth in order to believe the Eschaton can be Immanentized, the Utopians turn to brutality, to force the unbelievers into either accepting their Illumination at the point of a gun or by eliminating the heretics, so they can ‘get on with it’.
