Omar Mateen: Muslim Commits Murder Rampage at Orlando Gay Nightclub

This morning, the TV was on the local NBC affiliate — my wife is having a yard sale and wanted to check the weather — and the report was that about 20 people had been killed when a man armed with an assault rifle attacked a gay nightclub in Orlando. However, NBC said nothing about a motive. June is “Gay Pride” month and, honestly, my first thought was, “This is going to be a redneck homophobe.” Expecting the Left would turn this into a political crusade and find some way to blame Republicans, I checked Twitter and was at first doubtful when I saw reports that radical Islam might be the motive. Then the facts started piling up:

Omar Mateen has been named as the gunman involved in the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, CBS News reports.
Police said at least 20 people were killed and about 40 more were wounded in the attack early Sunday morning.
Mateen is a U.S. citizen from Port St. Lucie, Florida, according to CBS News. . . .
Mateen died at the scene after he was shot by police. He had barricaded himself in the nightclub after opening fire. . . .
FBI Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge Ron Hopper said at a press conference that there are “some suggestions” the gunman “may have leanings” toward Jihadist ideology. . . .

Well, the death toll in Orlando is now reported at 50, and liberals are unable to say anything about this without making fools of themselves.

UPDATE: “Religion of peace”:

An MSNBC staff writer spoke with the father of Omar Mateen, the gunman who shot and killed at least 50 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando on Sunday.
“We are apologizing for the whole incident. We weren’t aware of any action he is taking, we are in shock like the whole country. This had nothing to do with religion,” the gunman’s father said. However, he also claimed his son got very angry when he saw two men kissing in downtown Miami recently.

It is possible to get “very angry” about something without going on a shooting rampage — or flying jets into skyscrapers, for that matter.

UPDATE II: Nothing is easier to predict than Third Wave feminists making excuses for Muslims who commit terrorist violence:

UPDATE III: My rage against Laurie Penny’s sort of “feminism” — hate propaganda as “social justice” — tempts me to say that feminism is a greater threat to the world than Islamic terrorism, because feminists (and their “progressive” allies) seek to destroy every means by which we might defend ourselves against the menace of jihad. The ordinary citizen’s understandable concern about terrorism is condemned as “racism” by the Left, no matter how much evidence indicates the truth: Muslims hate everyone who is not a Muslim, and Islam is an evil doctrine of bloodthirsty hatred that commands its followers to kill us. However, because the Left hates Christianity even more than Muslims hate Christianity, the Left is willing to ignore the endorsement of violence that is inseparable from Islamic theology. Omar Mateen of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, came to the attention of federal authorities twice prior to being identified as the gunman in the Orlando nightclub mass shooting, a senior law enforcement source told The Daily Beast.
Mateen killed 53 people and shot more than 100 in total at the Pulse gay nightclub early Sunday morning, in the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.
The senior law enforcement source reports that Mateen became a person of interest in 2013 and again in 2014. The Federal Bureau of Investigation at one point opened an investigation into Mateen but subsequently closed the case when it produced nothing that appeared to warrant further investigation.
“He’s a known quantity,” the source said. “He’s been on the radar before.”

We can’t arrest every Muslim who wants to kill us, because all Muslims want to kill us. This is what their so-called “religion of peace” teaches, and freedom of religion protects their murderous hatred.

  1. make no mistake, if someone proposes even more draconian laws against religions not embracing homosexuality, only Christians will be prosecuted. Mark my words.

  3. second considerations: many times these sort of shootings smell like false flag operations to push gun control. This time, I am 200% sure it is not a false flag operation. The shooter, not only outdid all the other previous shootings done by evidently dilettantes but also is a registered democrat and muslim. Pass the popcorn and let’s laugh at the left spin doctors.

The only reason I would be angry about is that, as perfectly shown on the tweets above, the usual suspects are lumping all religions together and try to drag christians and others in it in a generic ‘everybody does it’. In a few hours someone will try to associate it with Donald Trump, despite the latter is probably the most pro-gay republican candidate we’ve ever seen. Don’t worry, for gays and lesbians priority number one will always be suing bakers and make hell on earth for christians. They will demand that we elevate them to the level of superstardom to even out this act. Watch Hollywood air heads crying on TV. Nothing bad should be said against muslims unless Christians can be damaged in the process as well.

    Does anyone care to speculate as to why the federal investigation into Mateen was derailed? Further, does anyone think the MSM will be diving into the specifics of that story to determine who called off the investigatory dogs? Will anyone ask Hillary about these failed federal efforts which left 53 Americans dead? How soon before the nefarious Jewish cabal is blamed? Finally, any guesses as to how long this story stays on the front page given what is becoming ever more apparent inasmuch as same adversely affects multiple Leftist/Progressive narratives?

  22. That would be true, but I’d guess the draconian laws will be unconstitutional, and indeed, fully intended to gut the Constitution. For that matter, it will be freely admitted that the new anti-first and second amendment laws will decimate the Constitution, but that we’ve got to do that to eliminate the possibility of religious fundamentalists, such as Christians and other extremists (who we can’t name or that would be rasiss) armed with automatic weapons committing similar crimes.

This one guy with guns (including a long gun) walks in and these 100’s of patrons presumably did nothing but mince away into the nearest corner to cower. “Oh look darlings, he has a gun!” “My, isn’t that a big one you’re carrying.”

    Disclaimer: Despite serving, I have never been in a combat situation and have no idea how I would react in a similar situation. The sitting duck approach to defence just doesn’t do it for me though.

    American Christians may not wish to celebrate the gay lifestyle. However, they don’t throw gay people off buildings, or hang them using a construction crane, and tend to condemn those actions!

  49. I read the article, and one can presume these guys didn’t have 24 Muslim men living with them in their apartment in Berlin at one time. Aside from the logistics, the landlord (if one) would go batsh1t crazy. Plus the language is past tense. So the question would be, how long did their “company” stay there?

    How many at a time, and for how long? Because I think the gay hosts just didn’t wait long enough.

    Also, nobody said that the “Syrian refugees” are mentally retarded. Obviously they aren’t. After all, they found a source of constant butt smooching, entitlement funding, and young rape victims. So of course you go into the place you plan to pillage and conquer and do some recon and make contacts in your own group before proceeding with your plans.

    And, these guys don’t go in and kill the gays and rape the women on Day 1. There’s only two gays in this case, and plus, to get your virgins in Islamic heaven, you have to be killed yourself while also killing many “enemies of Muhammed”. I mean, it took awhile for Omar to boil over, and without large group dynamics in play (such as large, anonymous evening street parties), I wouldn’t expect for these guys to bust a move right away either.
