Well, there are other sources of revenue the Democrats won’t consider. Two examples come to mind:
1: leasing timber, energy and mineral rights on federal land would generate immediate revenue and increased tax revenue from jobs created. The increase in energy production Obama takes credit for has occurred on private and state lands.
2: requiring that any new regulations be accompanied by a cost-benefit analysis to demonstrate that they do not unduly hurt the economy. The more robust an economy means more tax revenue and less demand for government benefits.
There is leasing of timber, energy and mineral rights on federal lands. What the Obama Administration has done is greatly restrict those sources of revenue to appease environmentalists in his base. What they do not get is all those activities can be done without compromising the environment.
But these lying liars make it sound like Republicans want to clear cut Yosemite and Redwood National Park (not getting that lack of cutting or controlled burns on national forests adjacent to Yosemite probably contributed to the fire damage that threatened actual sequoias in Yosemite this summer).
You got me, Evi. I was using shorthand for the fact that the BLM, on average, was issuing almost 9,000 leases under Reagan and this number has fallen steadily to less than 2,000 under Obama. That translates into a major loses of government revenue.
We need to reopen forest roads so that companies can clear dead timber. Right now, this just builds up as kindling. Instead of generating needed revenue, our policies are making forest fires more destructive and deadly.
The children are our future. It is a shame that we are their past.

We ran out of other people’s money a long time ago; it just hasn’t caught up to us yet.
The only problem I have with this is that when you carry the analogy over, the prog has his obvious retort:
“Yeah, well, we’d like to generate new revenue for the government, but the Republicans won’t let us! NERRR!”
This video should go viral, especially in the leftie sites.

I loved that video and posted it a few weeks ago. It is a classic. We all should post it, a lot.
