I Would Just Like To Point Out. . .

. . .that anybody who is surprised that a mortal man cannot magically fix the economy ought to have their head examined.

Yeah, he was supposed to be all that and scoop of ice cream, the most over-sold thin since XML.

Sure, it’s a bad thing that his ideas aren’t proving much.

But it’s an order of magnitude worse that a supposedly liberty-based country has gone so far in abdicating that liberty to some finite individual. It’s disgusting. Knock it off. Scale back this government, and let’s be about digging ourselves out, people.

Excellent. Can we all just get on with fixing things?

    “digging ourselves out”?  WTF?

Seriously, I can hardly fathom that we now live in a country where responsibility, accountability, making the hard choice, standing up for individual liberty, and living within our means is equated with terrorism, extremism, and racism.

Look, the guy essentially promised he could heal the earth and make the oceans recede, but simply submitting a written budget is beyond him?

    Amen.

There’s nothing at all wrong with blaming somebody for either (a) failing to keep a promise or (b) making a promise he knew he couldn’t keep or (c) that he knew he just wouldn’t even try to keep.

I don’t particularly care which of these applies to Obama (though I’d say at least two of the three), but AFAIC anyone who fails to hold him accountable is complicit in his guilt.

The XML President, that’s good. But XML won’t go away either.

Don’t forget the assertion (from Mrs. Obama, I think?) that only Barack could “fix our souls”.

Obama did not run, and was not elected, as a “mortal man”.  His campaign was about him as a messianic figure.

    Heh.  XML.

At least XML does what it’s supposed to do.
