Costa at the NRO relays the news that John Bolton has declined to run for POTUS in 2012. To my way of thinking, this positions him for Secretary of State.

Good decision on his part, although it could be argued that he might have played the role Al Haig did in 1988 when he forced certain issues to at least be talked about.

SecState sounds good as long as he promises, on the soul of his grandchildren, that he will clean house at State.

He’s extremely disturbed by the direction our foreign policy has taken on just about every front. If he became Sec of State I wouldn’t be surprised if there weren’t a quite a few resignations.

It would be grand to present Bachmann, Palin, Perry, and Cain with the same question in a debate.

If you get the R nomination, and then become President, would you nominate the following slate of candidates?

    SecState: John Bolton
    SecTreas: Dave Ramsay
    AG: Rudy Giuliani
    Fed Chairman: Thomas Sowell
    Border Patrol: Sheriff Arpaio

And if we want to be really mean…Ambassador to Saudi Arabia: Pamela Geller. Heh.

I’m waiting to find out if his mustache, Regis, decides to run.

That would be great, but would being there turn him, the way it has for so many others as though there’s some foul virus that lurks in the halls.

I would be more concerned that eventually he would grow weary of beating his head against the brick wall that is the Internationalists, Islamophiles, fans of OofIC and economic justice advocates.
What would be required is program to root out Oikaphobes and other threats to our interests on an even larger scale than mid 19Th century efforts to root out communists. A task that obviously was never completed.

He probably never had a chance but if the truth were known he might be better than any of the others currently running.

What, no candidate to vice the views of the neocons? How will we ever know what to think?

And don’t forget Carlos Mencia for Ambassador to the UN.

John Bolton as Sec State? Excellent choice!

Someone needs to go into Foggy Bottom and in a sense file Chapter 11.  A massive reorg is the only thing that will be effective.  And I don’t see how anyone can do it realistically.

Perhaps – just perhaps – the solution is to pull a Nixon and ignore State…I don’t know.

No Guiliani as he is a card-carrying member of the Republican Left [too damn PC].

How about Andrew McCarthy?  He understands the threat from the Mohammedins and is a no-nonsense law and order guy who understands that our police forces have become too militarized.
