Shocker: Chicks Don’t Dig Camping Out With a Bunch of Smelly Losers

Posted on | November 21, 2011 | 47 Comments

“I’m not the only one to notice the Occupy gender gap. . . . Nearly every night at Occupy LA, the question comes up: ‘What can we do to get more women out here?'”
Tina Dupuy, “The Occupy Movement’s Woman Problem,” The Atlantic

There are probably women who aren’t bothered much by poor hygiene, and there may be women who aren’t bothered by a lack of toilet and bathing facilities. But I think you’ll have a hard time finding women who aren’t bothered by the kind of bad stuff that happens to women when they’re constantly surrounded by a bunch of scummy, predatory cop-haters: Rape, sexual assault, sexual assault, rape, sexual assault, indecent exposure, sexual assault, gang rape . . . You get the picture.

The Occupy movement’s seething hostility toward law enforcement is not coincidental to their seething hostility toward capitalism.

The rationale of these protests is fundamentally anti-social, so the protests attract deviant personalities — including drug addicts, psychotics and sexual predators — who aren’t really keen on the whole “obeying the law” trip. And while the simple-minded lefty punks who are leading the protests might not be violent rapists, neither are they the kind of guys that chicks usually like to hang out with.

“Girls just want to have fun,” as Cyndi Lauper famously sang. Camping out in a park with a bunch of unemployed dropout dudes whining about their student loan debt? Not fun.

Throw in the threat of contagious disease, rape and other violence, and it’s kind of a bummer. You can imagine the conversation:

Heather: “Wanna go to the Occupy protest?”
Nicole: “You mean where all those smelly unemployed losers are camping out in the park and chanting about bankers?”
Heather: “Yeah.”
Nicole: “Let’s go shopping at the mall instead.”
Heather: “Cool.”

The guys at the mall are cuter. And probably have jobs and cars and money. Chicks dig that stuff. Also, hygiene.

UPDATE: Welcome, Instapundit readers! You probably don’t need to be told that this is a totally capitalist blog. But you may not realize that this is “Black Friday Deals Week” at Amazon: You save money with great bargains, I get a commission on every sale, and we’re all richer as a result. Chicks dig capitalism. Because it’s fun.

UPDATE II: John at Verum Serum believes women in the Occupy movement are purposefully covering up incidents of sexual assault:

First hand reports (by women) indicate that reporting of assaults is discouraged. One woman at Occupy Wall Street told the New York Post “We don’t tell anyone…We handle it internally. I said too much already.” My own original reporting on the situation at Occupy Baltimore indicated that sexual harassment was a common complaint, but organizers didn’t want word of it leaking to the media. . . .
There’s a reason women aren’t flocking to these tent cities. They aren’t safe. It would be nice if people claiming to be feminists could acknowledge the serious problems rather than glossing over it.

I noticed this also.  The guys were not only stupid, they were creepy.  The women who were interviewed usually seemed more “lucid” but completely out of touch with reality and had no idea why they were there either.

This includes guys who bathe in cheap cologne. Body funk + cheap cologne = a WIDE radius of personal space.

Women can smell stuff and identify colors. Strange, but true!

OWS really does need more women involved. If one womanly function is indeed to civilize men… big, big job.

I have noticed that most women do not find the threat of rape and disease all that inviting.  Camping at OWS is not exactly camping at Yosemite in the summer.

Now now Stacy, you shouldn’t be like that. Most of these Occupy protesters are just honest, average hardworking Americans down on their luck and looking for honest work. They’d rather have a job than a government handout. Rick Perry said so.

And have you seen the women who join the OWS camps on purpose?  Most of ’em look as bad as the guys (reportedly) smell.

Risking Godwin, I’d say that Der Furher promised his victims a shower, then killed them with Zyklon-B.  Saying that, I’d imagine that sending the OWS’ers through a real shower, with steaming hot water, plenty of soap and clean, dry towels would, to them, be damn near as scary a fate.

You’ll notice also, that the OWS’ers seem to equate “get a job” with some capatilistically twisted version of “work makes free”.  No, they don’t compare, and yes, they should get jobs.

    And baths.

Wherever the pretty girls are, that’s the place to be. It’s a basic principle of social organization. If you’re throwing a party, the first thing you do is invite the pretty girls, because everybody wants to be where they are. This is why nightclubs have “Ladies Night.”

By failing to create female-friendly environments, the Occupy protests have doomed themselves to failure.

I’m with the pepper-spraying cop at UC Davis on this one.

Frankly I’m tempted to get a plaque made in his honor and have it mailed to him.  This sort of thing needs to happen far more often.  Don’t like the debt you’re saddled with?  Don’t sign the papers.  Don’t like your job prospects?  Don’t take a degree in Blah Blah Blah Studies or Political Science.  Want a bail out?

Here.  Have a generous portion of pepper-spray.

What amuses me is the whole Lord of the Flies meets Animal Farm meets Caddyshack aura that surrounds the whole mess.

Somebody told me once that if you go to Vegas casino with a beautiful woman on your arm, especially a blonde, you’ll win big, because the woman will attract the crowd to your table, and with a few drinks, they’ll jump in. The game, that is. I don’t know if that’s true or not.

  13. ThePaganTemple
    November 21st, 2011 @ 11:59 pm

That was a bunch of bullshit if I ever saw it. The next time you see that clip, watch them. The cop walks down the line spraying those people straight in the face, and they just sit there as still as statues, except for one or two people. If somebody sprays you in the face with pepper spray, you’re going to jerk, flinch, shake your head, try to duck, something. You aren’t going to just sit there and not move a muscle.

So am I, I was being sarcastic. I couldn’t believe at first Perry was dumb enough to believe that, but then again, that’s the way many of the people at Fox talked for a while, like this was a legitimate movement that’s been “hijacked”. Newt was dead on the money today as far as I’m concerned, and if he wins the nomination, it will be because he’s not only not afraid to come right out and say what most people are thinking, he’ll gladly put it in terms the average person would. He’s turning into an angrier version of Sarah Palin without the sex appeal.

It has always bothered me about the unreported sexual and other assaults.  These tent cities aren’t incorporated and they have no right to take the law in their own hands.

In most states, “misprision of a felony” (including failure to report it) is a felony offense in and of itself.  These criminals belong in a prison cell.

It really doesn’t matter how clean and noble the actual protesters are. Get a bunch of people breaking the law, even in something minor such as camping illegally. Add free food. Discourage cooperation with police.

It doesn’t take long for the real cpetty criminals and the criminal and mentall illness plagued homeless to show up. By now, no one “normal” is hanging around there.

I was stationed in the San Francisco Bay area through the spring, summer and fall of 1967. I returned there for a short time in mid ’68. I saw, with my own eyes, the real Hippie Summer of Love and it’s aftermath. The same thing happened.

The real tragedy back then were the teenaged girls (and some boys) who showed up there and, in the space of weeks, ended up hooked on heroin or speed and the absolute property of pimps. This stuff today lasts long enough, the same thing will happen.

The problem is that you really need a father to civilize the son.  The mother helps keep the father in line, though.  But since women are the real reason to put up with civilization…

Anecdotally [save your nasty grams because “anecdotal” saves me from your “not my experience stories”, btw if you are a woman under 30 take my word and not the nasties’, trust me you will be much happier in life with a man who is confident and who respects you by showing it with his actions]:

The uber-liberal I dated was a lazy slob who was threatened by my individuality—expressed desire to keep my maiden name if we married, ohhh no way he said.  Married a very conservative guy…fine with keeping my name, no problem, thinks it’s cool, cooks for me every night, does the laundry, does the grocery shopping…I take the lead on the kid stuff…we both work full time.   We have a true partnership in our marriage.  The liberal laid around and smoked while I cleaned the house.

So, one woman’s experience but I say go with a guy who opens the door for you.  He might do the laundry for your entire marriage.

Watch the whole video, they were told over the course of ten minutes to clear the sidewalk and sit on the grass. The police even gave them time to cover their mouths and eyes… My tax monies help pay for that sidewalk the college built, and no hippie trash has the right to tell me i can’t walk on it.

Why are their rights more important then mine ??

My experience was the same as yours, except that I was a teenaged boy just out of High School in 1967. I saw the hippies on TV and wanted to be ‘cool’.

Bad choice. I lasted 3 months and the experience awakened in me a pervading fear of drugs and a healthy skepticism about people wanting to do things for you. I learned not to listen to what you are told, believe what you can see for yourself.

Believe it or not. Those people cannot smell themselves and think the fact that they stink is one of those things that is made up by ‘right wingers’.
