Working the Refs: Axelrod Attacks Gallup; Romney Slams Pro-Obama Media Bias
Posted on | April 17, 2012 | 67 Comments
Joel Gehrke at the Washington Examiner reports:
“Gallup is saddled with some methodological problems,” [Obama adviser David] Axelrod tweeted today. He also directed Twitterati to a National Journal piece arguing that Gallup polls showing Romney in the lead “has a sample that looks much more like the electorate in 2010 than the voting population that is likely to turn out in 2012.”
Mitt Romney was interviewed by Larry O’Connor, who mentioned that outfits like ThinkProgress and Media Matters are coordinating messages in the mainstream media:
“There will be an effort by the, quote, vast left-wing conspiracy to work together to put out their message and to attack me. They’re going to do everything they can to divert from the message people care about, which is a growing economy that creates more jobs and rising incomes. That’s what people care about. . . .
“Many in the media are inclined to do the president’s bidding and I know that’s an uphill battle we fight with the media generally.”
Here’s video of the interview:

Just put up a big old Romney sign in your yard. If he’s a big enough Obama tool to still have an Obama bumper sticker on his car after everything that’s happened, that would be the equivalent of a kick in the teeth. Or if you’re one of these that’s that dead set against Romney, maybe a “Vote GOP” or something similar.

And a whole fifth of Pappy Van Winkle, neat.

Actually, I’m thinking of hanging my Gadsden flag out by Old Glory. A Romney sign might push them over the edge, especially if they find out I’m related (by marriage) to Mormons.

There you go. Can’t go wrong with a Gadsden Flag.

Why not all of the above including identity politics. That’s what hurts is, abandoning it to them. We should trumpet Colonel West’s observations about the “Welfare Plantation” daily, instead of running and hiding from it.

They won’t now that they realize they can get him sidetracked with a poke like that — plus it sets up Obama to start in with his class warfare junk, which he has started doing.
Best option would have been to slap back, once, hard — and make the slap one that would put him on the defensive, not a defensive reaction…like this was.

Because Lt. Col. West knows how to play it: hit them once, hard, and in such a way as to put them on the defensive about something else which is more important and something that unites people rather than divide them. West brings up the welfare plantation, but works it so he’s talking more about everybody being enslaved on it and how identity politics gets you there.
So far all Romney’s done has gone on the defensive, or run and hid, and he isn’t even nominated yet. If you’re unable or unwilling to swing it around to going on the offensive; you can’t trade slaps back and forth, not with a Dem; they have the higher ground on this — you have to get them off their home turf.
Which, this bringing up West just makes me realize how much I’m really not liking my choice for voting this year, this comparison.

Treacher almost made up for the time he come on here defending the Daily Caller’s coverage of Mike Tyson’s insults of Sarah Palin as “news”.

But bringing it up once isn’t good enough, you have to keep up on it, be unrelenting and merciless. Yeah, that might turn some people off, but as long as you are in the right, it will turn more people on, especially when they see what effect it has on Democrats, such as shutting their asses up. Or at least making them think long and hard about what they say, and how they say it.
In fact, I say don’t wait until they attack before you respond. Strike the first lethal blow, and do it on a variety of issues, over and over again. Don’t be afraid to call them out on anything, including racial, feminist, and gay issues. And when they respond with the typical charge of racist, sexist, homophobe, etc., just laugh at them and keep on going.

JeffS, Pagan: We have two versions of the Gadsden, plus the US Flag flying and it’s fun to sit on our back deck, which looks down our driveway, and watch the reactions as people go by.

I’m able to herd my five every afternoon when I get home. I have them trained to gather in the Kitchen when I shout ‘Time to eat!’

‘Almost’ being the key word.

Damn straight.
Now there’s another thing I want you to remember. I don’t want to get any messages saying that “we are holding our position.” We’re not holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy. We’re going to hold onto him by the nose and we’re going to kick him in the ass. We’re going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we’re going to go through him like crap through a goose!

I think a lot of people might have forgotten about that, so I thought I should remind them.
