Gregory Kane Opines That Colin Powell Could Be A Latent Democrat

I still recall with fondness then-JCS Chairman General Powell around 20 years ago speaking to us in a college setting. At the time, his sheer command presence had me thinking that he could well be our first black POTUS. And now he’s reduce to taking pot shots at women who are not (at the moment) even in any political spotlight:
There are two Republican Latino governors, and Republican governors in Louisiana and South Carolina whose parents came from India. This is the party that Powell claims “still looks down on the minority.”
To “prove” his assertion that Republicans are a bunch of intolerant rednecks, Powell dredged up exactly two examples.
When President Obama was trying to hoodwink the American public into believing that the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was something other than what it was, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said, “President Obama’s shuck and jive shtick with these Benghazi lies must end.”
Powell objected to Palin’s use of the term “shuck and jive.” “That’s a racial-era slave term,” he said. Now if I really wanted to be testy about this, I could ask Powell, “And your point would be what, exactly?” But I’ll just use this rejoinder instead: New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who was New York state attorney general in 2008, used precisely the same term, about the same guy.
Referring to then-presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, Cuomo said, “You can’t shuck and jive at a press conference.”
So you see, Gen. Powell, there is bipartisan recognition of Obama’s “shucking and jiving.”
Read the whole thing. Great punch line.
Powell himself is kind of old news, but Gregory Kane is a great columnist, and well worth your attention.

You’d think Powell would finally come out of the closet, but then, he saw how well that worked for the late Arlen Specter.

[…] racist the GOP is. In fact if he is not a Democrat, he should get an Oscar for acting like one. Smitty seems to agree with me, more or less Frankly, Powell can leave and take Chris Chrsitie with him, I am sure Charlie Crist will welcome […]

Powell, still trying to justify his vote by making other people the raaaaacists. Just own up to it Powell. You voted for Obama because he’s black.

Powell could be a latent Democrat?
How about, Powell is a covert progressive?

Besides, we have bigger things to worry about. Take a gander at this from the Telegraph, quoting Mark Jones at Rice Univ during discussion of a Cuban oil find.
He argued the US could treat Cuban oil in the same way it treats oil from Venezuela: “We don’t like them but we like their product and we are going to buy it”.
The current embargo expires this September. However, Prof Jones suggested that it is unlikely that Barack Obama will move to lift it before the conclusion of his next run for President.

Powell has been a RINO his entire life. He let Scooter Libby hang out to dry when it was his deputy that was the source, just for starters.

Wait. Obama’s black?
I thought it was just a fabulous tan. He’s from Hawaii, after all.

Well, I’d suggest the man had you buffalo’d back then. Powell is the very model of a modern military buddy-fucker, uppping his act to the national scale.

Don’t tell Robert Byrd’s ghost, but I think Garym is right.

Wayback Machine on the fritz for a while, but here it is: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/centralamericaandthecaribbean/cuba/8544870/US-could-lift-Cuba-embargo-after-oil-discovery.html
The date on the article spoils the joke. Apparently some of these news accumulators dig deeply into the archives in their hunger for clicks.

Thanks. I was hoping it was a new comment.

“Garym is right.”
Don’t tell that to my wife. She’ll never believe you. : )

Powell’s integrity won’t recover from his not keeping an innocent man from jail. If he’ll willing allow an innocent man to go to jail, and the waste of several millions dollars, then what will he do.
I did notice that Powell’s comments came just when talk of Hagel not making SecDef reached their peak.

Well, the proof is:
Only Democrats care about skin color

No latent Democrat…just showing his true colors…literally.
