Canadian Candidate Drops Out After Masturbation Video Surfaces

Posted on | July 22, 2014 | 82 Comments

Trish Kelly was a candidate for local office on the ticket of the liberal “Vision Vancouver” party. On July 14, local political blogger Raymond Tomlin published a 2006 video Ms. Kelly produced for a website called WayOutWest. In the two-minute video, Ms. Kelly talks about her masturbation habits: “Pretty much I do it every night, after brushing my teeth, but before putting on my jammies.” Ms. Kelly is entirely clothed in the video, during which she describes “the single lifestyle” and an occasion “giving myself the f–k of my life.”

Three days after Tomlin called attention to the video, Kelly dropped out of the race for Vancouver’s Park Board:

“After 25 years of serving my community, I put my name forward as a Park Board nominee to move my life as a community activist fighting for social justice issues, to claiming a seat at the decision-making table,” Kelly stated. “Unfortunately, my work in theatre and as a sex-positive activist is being sensationalized — and will clearly continue to be — distracting from my efforts in the community and in the election campaign.”
Kelly, a popular member of Vancouver’s LGBT community, made a humorous video about masturbation, which was posted on YouTube by political activist Raymond Tomlin. . . .
“I have never hidden from this work,” Kelly said in the news release. “I hold no shame nor regret for the work I have produced. I have dedicated, and will continue to dedicate, much of my life to contributing to my community, to having difficult conversations, and to making myself vulnerable in order to make space for others.”

Wait a minute: Ms. Kelly is a “sex-positive activist,” widely recognized as a “member of Vancouver’s LGBT community,” and yet her solitary habits were the problem? Do people not understand the meaning of “LGBT”? It’s not about marching in parades, y’know.

If her video confession of lonely pleasure — “pretty much . . . every night” — was potentially embarrassing for the Vision Vancouver party, the reaction to her resignation has been memorable.

Feminists are blaming the patriarchy for Ms. Kelly’s misfortune.

Yes, that’s right. The only reason Ms. Kelly’s masturbation video was a potential political liability was that she is a woman, according to feminist blogger Jarrah Hodge: “For some reason young women candidates keep finding themselves attacked for expressing their sexuality, even though it’s not at all relevant to the office they’re seeking.” Really? Did I miss all those occasions when male candidates recorded videos “expressing their sexuality” and nobody cared? Joe Biden has made a lot of gaffes over the years, but I’m pretty sure he never uploaded a YouTube video discussing how often he wanks (and I’m certain nobody wants to know).

Contrary to Ms. Hodge’s claim, it isn’t just “young women candidates” who are “attacked for expressing their sexuality” in politics. Or has she forgotten the self-destruction of Anthony Weiner?

But never mind that. Why do you think that Ms. Kelly — who is very much “out” sexually — would have suddenly dropped off the ticket of this progressive party in a Canadian city that is as liberal as Seattle or San Francisco? It’s mysterious. A profile of her last month focused on blue-eyed Ms. Kelly’s claim that she has some unquantified percentage of “aboriginal” ancestry:

“I think visibly I represent the other minority aspects of my identity, like being a woman,” Kelly said by phone from Burnaby. “But it’s more an opportunity for me to advocate and be an ally to First Nations and aboriginal people in Vancouver, which is something that I feel strongly about because every time I do that I’m honouring my mother and she passed away five years ago. It was very important to her when she got her Métis status card.”
A member of the Vancouver food policy council since 2007, Kelly noted that it’s possible that Vancouver had aboriginal municipal politicians before Ken Clement — who was first elected to the school board in 2008 — but they just didn’t publicly identify themselves as such. According to Kelly, it’s important for her to be “transparent” about her Métis background as well as the fact she identifies as bisexual, queer, and femme.
“I feel that I’m a bridge between two groups,” Kelly said. “I’m Métis and the word Métis means a ‘blend’ or a ‘mix’ in French, and I’m also queer or bisexual. I have to claim those identities, because being femme in everyday society I can be read as just a straight woman, and being Métis I can be read as just white. So I politicize myself by owning these identities, which is part of how I politicize my identity but also part of how I act as another ally to people who are more targeted because of their visible appearance or how they’re read.”

Hmmm. So she politicizes her identity. This is very interesting.

Her position on transsexual “issues” is also interesting:

Kelly maintained that, after years of being a “strong ally” to the trans community, she’d like the chance to be more than a “good listener”. If she gains a seat on the park board in the November election, Kelly said, she would see to it that the April report of the city’s trans and gender-variant inclusion working group is implemented.
“The reason that I feel that is so important is because it addresses inclusivity for not just folks that are gender-variant or trans but also just looking at making community centres inclusive for people with disabilities or people who just don’t feel like they fit into social norms of what a person is supposed to look like,” Kelly said. “The work that’s been done is really strong, and I want to support it and make sure that it gets embedded within the park board.”

What were the recommendations of the “inclusion working group”?

“What we’re talking about is — 10, 20, 30 years from now — trans kids of the future won’t confined by the gender limitations and constraints of today,” [co-chairman Drew] Dennis, who’s also a member of the city’s LGBTQ advisory committee, said by phone. “That’s particularly exciting for me.” . . .
“Gender-segregated services and facilities can exclude trans* and gender variant community members if an inclusive approach is not taken,” the report states. “In these instances, trans* and gender variant individuals commonly face gender-policing in the form of verbal harassment, public-shaming and physical violence by others who feel they do not belong there.”

So, you go to a park in Vancouver, and if a man in a dress wants to use the women’s restroom, it’s “verbal harassment” for a woman to tell him he doesn’t belong there. I’m going to take a wild guess that the recommended “inclusive approach” to “gender-variant community members” might be somewhat controversial even in liberal Vancouver. And I’m going to take another wild guess that Ms. Kelly’s masturbation video — which highlighted her bisexual queer femme “sex-positive activism” — might have caused some voters to wonder, “What kind of long-term agenda is Vision Vancouver pursuing, if they’re willing to put this kinky weirdo on the Park Board, to eradicate ‘the gender limitations and constraints of today’?”

How much do I know about Canadian politics? Almost nothing. The last time I paid attention to Canada was when a lesbian hockey coach went to jail for having sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Because I don’t know enough about politics in Vancouver to know if there is a conservative alternative on the ballot, I can’t predict the consequences of Vision Vancouver’s embarrassment. However, I do know that politicians with radical agendas don’t usually like it when people start noticing exactly how radical their agendas are. Maybe common-sense folks in Canada are paying attention now.

Is MSNBC Too Pro-Israel?

Posted on | July 21, 2014 | 15 Comments

Rula Jebreal (@RulaJebreal) is part of the unhinged anti-Israel fringe on the Left — I call them “the Sirhan Sirhan wing of the Democrat Party” — that has finally spilled over into public view on MSNBC:

An MSNBC contributor used her appearance on the cable news channel Monday to sharply criticize its coverage of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
During an interview on “Ronan Farrow Daily,” Palestinian journalist Rula Jebreal unloaded on Western media outlets, including MSNBC, arguing that influence from pro-Israel forces makes the news coverage more favorable to the likes of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Because of AIPAC, and because of the money behind it, and because of Sheldon Adelson, and because of all of us in the media. We are ridiculous. We are disgustingly biased when it comes to this issue,” Jebreal said.
“Look at how many airtime Netanyahu and his folks have on air on a daily basis. Andrea Mitchell and others,” she continued, referring to the MSNBC stalwart whose show airs right before Farrow’s afternoon program. “I never see one Palestinian being interviewed on theses same issues.”
When Farrow pushed back gently and pointed out that Palestinian guests have been interviewed, Jebreal continued her criticism.
“Maybe 30 seconds! And then you have 25 minutes for Bibi Netanyahu, and then half an hour for Naftali Bennett and many others,” Jebreal said.

There is a phrase for this kind of conspiratorial jabbering about AIPAC and Sheldon Adleson: The Paranoid Style.

The Gaza Jihad Is on Twitter

Posted on | July 21, 2014 | 20 Comments

Check the #Gaza or #Israel hashtags on Twitter and you’ll see that anti-Israel activists are flooding social media with their messages.

This is absolutely not an accident:

The Middle East Media Research (MEMRI) published Thursday a translation of a new Hamas internet campaign to provide guidelines for Gaza’s social media users. According to MEMRI, the Hamas Interior Ministry has instructed Gazans to use Facebook and Twitter to “play their part in strengthening the home front and properly convey information worldwide.” The guidelines in fact instruct social media users to mislead the public and propagate disinformation worldwide.
The interior ministry’s “Be Aware — Social Media Activist Awareness Campaign” centers around an instructional video and posters published on the ministry’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Gazans are taught, first and foremost, to refer to all terrorists as innocent civilians.
“Anyone killed or martyred is to be called a civilian from Gaza or Palestine, before we talk about his status in jihad or his military rank,” the guidelines state. “Don’t forget to always add ‘innocent civilian’ or ‘innocent citizen’ in your description of those killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.” Mainstream media outlets would do well to remember this when quoting distorted reports from Gaza of civilian casualties.
The guidelines go on to tell Facebook and Twitter users how to spin Hamas terrorist activity aimed at harming Israeli civilians to appear legitimate.

The current Israeli campaign in Gaza is a response to Hamas firing missiles at Israeli civilians. Exactly how anyone could believe that Hamas terrorists are innocent civilians, I don’t know, but some people are credulous simpletons, and easily propagandized. Hamas is a terrorist organization dedicated to killing Jews, period. It is also the elected government of Gaza, which should tell you something about the general sentiment of “innocent civilians” in Gaza.

The New Feminist Fashion

Posted on | July 21, 2014 | 52 Comments

Feminist artist Eleanor Beth Haswell (@Elle_Haswell) has designed what the fashionable Women’s Studies major will be wearing:

Art student Eleanor Beth Haswell’s ‘Why are you so afraid of your own anatomy?’ collection is all about the vagina knickers.
Haswell’s undies . . . are a true celebration of the female anatomy and come complete with an annotated diagram of said lady parts, demonstrating exactly where everything — from the fallopian tube to the cervix — actually is.
The designer-turned-gynaecologist also created a bra to go with her knickers making the ultimate matching set.

See, ladies? If you’re not parading your vagina around in public, you’re “afraid of your own anatomy,” according to feminism.

Let’s read the “about” page at Eleanor Beth Haswell’s web site:

Eleanor Beth Haswell is an eighteen year old art student from North East England, who previously studied Fine Art and Graphic Design at Durham Sixth Form Centre and is going on to start Sunderland University and complete the Foundation Degree in Art and Design. Her work is mainly photography based, covering feminist issues such as body shaming in the media, as well as her previous project on domestic violence. Prior to this, Eleanor also created a project based around the cruelty to animals within the cosmetic and fur industry, to which she made a series of advertisements showing the unseen effects. She highlights mainly upon the negative views of body hair within her work, and the perception of beauty that the medias imprints within society today.
Out of education, she runs a North East England female identified arts collective named Clandestine Collective, of which she is also the logo/poster designer.

“Female-identified,” huh? From the collective’s Twitter account:

Feminists obsessed with female genitalia, which they are not afraid to proclaim “good enough to eat”? Yeah, there’s a word for that.

‘I Got Him in a Bloody Puddle for You’: Father Beats Gay Teen Molesting Son

Posted on | July 21, 2014 | 104 Comments

Raymond Frolander is an 18-year-old homosexual who was molesting an 11-year-old boy when the boy’s father caught him:

A father who walked in on a man allegedly sexually assaulting his 11-year-old son beat the man to a pulp before calling police to say they could come collect him from a ‘bloody puddle’ on his floor.
The 35-year-old man, who has not been identified, told a 911 dispatcher in the early hours of Friday: ‘I just walked in on a grown man molesting [name redacted]. And I got him in a bloody puddle for you right now, officer.’
Police arrived at the Daytona Beach home in Florida to find Raymond Frolander, 18, unconscious. . . .
When the 911 responder asked the father if any weapons were involved, he said: ‘My foot and my fist’.
‘He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you, I dragged him into the living room,’ the father said. ‘Send an ambulance. He is going to need one.’
The dispatcher asked: ‘Is he still unconscious?’ to which the father responds: ‘Yes… I hit hard, sir.’
He said that Frolander was a ‘damn lucky boy that I love my God’.
The father added: ‘He stood up and his pants were around his ankles and nothing else needed to be said. I did whatever I got a right to do except I didn’t kill him.’
The father had left his home around 1 am to pick up some food and when he returned, heard a strange noise coming from the bedroom, police said.
He pushed open the door and allegedly found Frolander with his pants down performing a sex act on the child.
The boy told investigators he had been playing video games with friends but when they left, Frolander took him to a back room and pulled down his pants. He also said Frolander had been abusing him for three years.

This had been going on since Frolander was 15 and the boy was 8 — and nobody in the media will us the word “gay” about this story.

Had it not been for the fact that the father caught Frolander in the act, with his pants around his ankles, the father would have been accused of homophobia if he had said he didn’t want this creepy gay teenager hanging around with his son. You’re also a bigoted homophobe if you notice that accused child pornographer Matthew Graziottia Cub Scout leader! — liked little boys:

A South Daytona elementary teacher and former youth pastor accused of possessing thousands of child pornography images — including some he produced — remained jailed Tuesday, while federal agents continue to investigate the case.
Matthew Graziotti, 42, was arrested [July 14] after FBI agents searched his Edgewater home and found the illegal images on his laptop, according to a criminal complaint filed in Orlando federal court. . . .
Agents began investigating Graziotti in May, when an undercover agent using a peer-to-peer file sharing program downloaded about 140 child pornography images and six videos from him. . . .
A forensic examiner found 8,761 images in one of Graziotti’s computer folders, many of which depicted the sexual abuse of boys, court records said.
In a folder titled “personally known,” Graziotti created 41 subfolders titled with different boys’ names.
Investigators found pictures in one of those folders of Graziotti sexually abusing a boy in his living room in 2012, court records said.
In another folder, examiners found a picture of a boy asleep on Graziotti’s couch, and the child’s shorts were removed so he was exposed, court records said. That picture was taken in May.

Notice both of these cases occurred in Florida, where the state chapter of the ACLU and the state’s largest gay-rights organization last year supported lesbian sex offender Kaitlyn Hunt, who molested a 14-year-old girl. “Emerging awareness.” IYKWIMAITYD.
