In a phone conversation last night, regarding the outrage that prompted me to invoke the dreaded War Oath of Clan Cameron, a friend mentioned the possibility that Neal Rauhauser, who has in the past boasted about his pistols, might resort to violence.

“He’s a punk!” I shouted into the phone. “He’s a liar and a coward! Punks like that don’t scare me one bit. A man who is honest and brave is the man to be feared. Never be afraid of a lying coward.”

Rauhauser is obsessed with deception and secrecy — for evil men prefer darkness to light — and schemes to harm anyone who tells the truth about him. He has devoted nearly two years to an insane campaign of vengeance against Greg W. Howard, Patrick Read and “Zapem,” who exposed Rauhauser’s role in the 2010 TwitterGate scandal.

The liar knows in his heart he is wrong. Neal’s ferocious rage against his enemies can only be understood as an expression of his own cowardice in refusing to admit the truth about himself.

Nobody trusts Neal Rauhauser. Even his “friends” like Brett Kimberlin and Matt Edelstein distrust Rauhauser, with whom they associate only because his skill at deception is useful to them. They do not trust him, because they fear he might some day turn against them.

Indeed, his allies must constantly fear that he is even now deceiving them, accumulating evidence to be used against them in a future betrayal. Rauhauser’s habitual boasting has repeatedly brought him disgrace, and his attempts to impress others by naming his influential “friends” inevitably result in embarrassment for anyone who fails to keep away from him.

Darcy Burner made the mistake of befriending Neal Rauhauser, a friendship she is at pains to conceal now that she’s running for Congress and Rauhauser has been exposed as “The Gaped Crusader.”

Why does Rauhauser persist in his evil deceptions? Because there is always some new fool he can deceive, and even crude ruses give him the sadistic pleasure of thinking his lies have triumphed — however briefly — over the truth. Patterico explains one of Rauhauser’s methods:

Trickery works. People don’t expect every comment left as “Patterico” on a random website to be a trick by a Rauhauser-style scumbag dirty trickster.

By their “accuse the accusers” strategy, Rauhauser and Kimberlin have succeeded in deceiving fools, but the wise are not so easily deceived. And while the threats and tricks of Kimberlin and Rauhauser have inspired some to fear them, there are still honest and brave men in the world who consider it dishonorable to fear a lying coward.

Saturday in Centreville, I had dinner at Five Guys with Aaron Walker and his wife. Brett Kimberlin and Neal Rauhauser have endeavored to destroy Walker’s career and dishonor his name. Unfortunately for them, Aaron has survived and his name is now celebrated for his courage in standing up to these evil men.

At one point during our meal, Aaron’s wife threw her arms around his neck and declared that he is her hero.

No one will ever say that about the “Gaped Crusader.” Neal Rauhauser is no one’s hero, and no honest woman can admire a lying coward.

Zany Breitbart.com, Thinking That The Days Of Legal Consistency Remain

Joel Pollack over at Breitbart.com writes as though there is one set of rules that everyone has to play by. As though subpoena-free attacks against Mitt Romney should receive the same scrutiny as, say, that little horse-trade that occurred over Snarlin’ Arlen switching parties to support ObamaCareTax:

Specter evidently expected to be repaid for his defection, and the Obama administration was eager to oblige by ensuring that he ran unopposed. So they attempted to dissuade Sestak from running–and Sestak made the offer public, in an effort to cast himself as a Washington outsider versus the octagenarian Specter, the consummate Beltway insider. He told the story several times on the campaign trail.
As Karl Rove pointed out at the time, either Sestak was lying, or the White House had committed a felony–namely, offering a government job in exchange for something of value. The independent-minded Jake Tapper of ABC News prodded President Obama’s then-press secretary, Robert Gibbs, for answers–and Gibbs had none. Future House oversight chair Darrell Issa (R-CA) said the scandal could be Obama’s Watergate.

I know, I know: recalling any historical fact without proper airbrushing by the Ministry of Truth is probably also felonious. It’s not like I, myself, can afford to buy a Senate seat, or buy my way out when it all goes sideways.

What a rotten, rotten pack of liars these Democrats are. Remember, kids: the Equal Protection clause now means that Merisant won’t be destroyed in court. So long as they pay their vig.

Thursday Is Mary Jo Kopechne Day; Would Government Health Care Have Been A Good Investment For Her?

Roughly three weeks shy of 343 years to the day after ersatz naval architect Ted Kennedy proved conclusively that a ’67 Olds does not a submarine make, but with the right name you can still be the Lyin’ of the Senate, the PPACA decision arrived, in a flurry of prestidigitation that defies reasonable analysis. That is, only an oxygen-deprived academic could find sense in it.
A lot of the smarter folk aren’t buying the country’s in the very best of hands argument about PooPoocACA (ObamaTax).

The point is, [elites] don’t care, and will be perfectly happy to engineer a “meltdown” of the American health care system by any means necessary, for the simple reason that they will then use that meltdown as an opening to push full single-payer, government administered socialized medicine into the breach.

Ted sure did put his concern about health care way ahead of politics:

Nixon had other reasons, beside his dead brothers, to support reform. Medicare had just been passed, and many Americans expected universal health care to be next.
“We had the same problems then as we have now,” Altman said. “A lot of people uninsured, and health care costs were considered too high.”
Ted Kennedy, whom Nixon assumed would be his rival in the next election, made universal health care his signature issue. Kennedy proposed a single-payer, tax-based system. Nixon strongly opposed that on the grounds that it was un-American and would put all health care “under the heavy hand of the federal government.”
Instead, Nixon proposed a plan that required employers to buy private health insurance for their employees and gave subsidies to those who could not afford insurance. Nixon argued that this market-based approach would build on the strengths of the private system.
“Government has a great role to play, he said, “but we must always make sure that our doctors will be working for their patients and not for the federal government.”
No one breathed a word at the time about Nixon’s plan being unconstitutional. Instead, it faced opposition from Democrats who insisted on “single-payer.”

More recently:

Ted Kennedy often said his biggest political mistake was turning down a health care deal with Richard Nixon and Kennedy’s old lament had Democrats yesterday thinking again about compromise on reform.
Kennedy said he turned down the universal health coverage plan offered by the Republican President in the early 1970s because it wasn’t everything he wanted it to be. He later realized it was a missed opportunity to make major progress toward his goal.

I guess the most galling thing about this is the bi-partisan quasi-ratification of FDR’s personal hooey-pile (emphasis mine):

In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all regardless of station, race, or creed.
Among these are:

  • The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the Nation;
  • The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;
  • The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;
  • The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;
  • The right of every family to a decent home;
  • The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;
  • The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;
  • The right to a good education.

Notes to Progressives:

  1. This is an unratified Article V rewrite. Were you even a little bit righteous, you’d not have to resort to the parade of cheating evidenced the last few years.
  2. The whole Progressive project has proven unaffordable. You can no more tax your way to Utopia than you can mainline your way to a stable heroin buzz. Economics and Biochemistry just don’t work that way.

Picking up on the Nietzschean Will to Utopia, I sort of eavesdropped upon a fellow who was interviewed by an apparently sympathetic female. This is from 28 Jun, across the street from the SCOTUS, mere minutes before Chief Justice John Roberts collected his 30 pieces of silver. The audio is trashy for the first 10 or so seconds, so I provide a transcription. I have no idea who the speaker is, but the sign displayed MoveOn.org prominently:

Man: . . .I think if we have a setback today, we’ll keep fighting. If we have a victory today, we’ll keep fighting. Whatever it is, healthcare for all is still a process, it’s a goal to be achieved, and we’re still a long way off no matter what happens today.
Interviewer: And you’ve got Senator Ted Kennedy’s image right behind you. What does that mean to you?
Man: Well, that was Ted Kennedy’s lifetime achievement. . .was this healthcare bill. It was something he crusaded for long before Hillary’s initiative in the White House. So he’s kind of the. . .moral icon of the movement, and he’s a man whose works I greatly admire. So I’ve got the sign up.
Interviewer: And what do you think as a senior of these people on the sidewalk. It actually seems the crowd has doubled in the last few minutes.
Man: Well, it belongs. . .it needs to be dealt with. I mean, this is the issue that is defining our moment. . .defining our age, so, in a lot of ways, I feel like all of America should be here today.

Fine, sir. I’ll allow that you stated a position antithetical to liberty as though it was religious dogma. And you can pry my liberty from my cold, dead Charlton Hestons. But this is precisely the rub on this election; Socialism or capitalism. Slavery or liberty. The country the Founders envisioned, or a zombie aristocracy that shakes with the right hand, while stabbing with the left.

How’s Your Gaelic, Neal Rauhauser?

In the past week or so, readers may have noticed that I’ve relented in my non-stop blogging about convicted terrorist Brett Kimberlin and his demented associate Neal Rauhauser. On July 5, when Judge Rupp’s ruling restored Aaron Walker’s First Amendment rights, I figured this ended the original emergency that drew my attention on May 17. My family and I are now safely relocated, and it seemed a good time to return my attention to the presidential campaign that I had been covering before this emergency arose.

However, I did not for a moment suppose that Kimberlin, Rauhauser and their surrogates would cease their evil machinations. This expectation was fulfilled today when I was contacted by a blogger friend, who reported that she had received an utterly vicious e-mail sent by someone impersonating a mutual acquaintance, conveying vile falsehoods attributed to me.

That mutual acquaintance is clearly not amused, and the question of who perpetrated this mischief can perhaps permit some speculation.

Means, motive and opportunity, if you get my drift.

Who had a motive to do this evil deed? Who described himself as a “hacker” and boasted of his connection to the hacker group “Anonymous”? Who is a self-proclaimed expert in “persona management” and other means of online deception? Who has written at length about his fascination with Maltego software as a tool for mapping online connections? Who therefore would have sought to exploit such connections in this way?

Let me make clear that I do not accuse Neal Rauhauser of committing this crime. He might very much wish me to make such an accusation, thus allowing him to deny the accusation, demand “proof” of his guilt — which I don’t have — and thereby portray himself as a victim of defamation, harassment, blah, blah, blah.

Nevertheless, I hold Neal Rauhauser personally responsible, based on his own well-documented record of advocating, intructing others in, and personally engaging in such malicious online behavior.

Perhaps my suspicions are misplaced. Perhaps this particular act was committed by some random a–hole unconnected to Neal Rauhauser.

Whatever. It makes no difference to my resolute determination to see him brought to justice for his sociopathic behavior, which he had been directing at other innocent people even before I ever heard the name “Neal Rauhauser”. There is good reason to believe Neal has committed numerous sins against the innocent that will never be proven against him, his deceptions permitting him to evade responsibility. When the hammer of justice comes swinging down on his head, let no one pity him.

All this I say as preamble to the following:

  • If any of my friends should receive communications conveying negative information about me, be advised that I am apparently the target of a dishonest smear campaign. Others who have written about the Kimberlin/Rauhauser saga report that they have experienced similar smears. Be on the alert for any such deception.
  • Understanding that attacks like this may be an attempt to distract me from my regular work, I intend to continue focusing on the presidential campaign, reporting on further developments in “The Kimberlin Files” only as time permits.
  • This story is not over, and no one should mistake a momentary period of quiet for the end of the story.

Finally, I had hitherto resisted the temptation to do something I’ve only ever done once before. After what happened today, I resist no longer, and invoke the dreaded War Oath of Clan Cameron:

Somebody has decided to amuse themselves by posting as Yr. Humble Linkmongler under a false e-mail address to various other blogs, upsetting the bloggers and spreading vileness. Somebody is about to discover that there is no real anonymity on the Internets. Somebody is going to find out, first hand, what the penalties are for identity theft. And after the hammer comes down, when this somebody is exposed in the glare of the spotlight they tried so hard to avoid. I will laugh, and post their picture here, and enjoy their sweet, sweet tears of misery.

Florida Source: Sex Accusation Against Lieutenant Governor ‘Total Bullsh*t’

Just talked to a Florida source who assures me that there is no truth to the accusations made against Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll. The claim, made by a disgruntled ex-employee, that Carroll had a lesbian affair with her assistant Beatriz Ramos is “total bullsh*t,” my source says.

Known to friends as “Bibi,” Ramos is widely respected by Florida Republicans as a hard-working campaign operative. “Bibi is a fine Christian lady,” my source says. “She worked her tail off for Republicans all over the state in 2010. . . . She’s just a total sweetheart.” Ramos is “in her late 30s or early 40s . . . not a 20-something Barbie doll.”

The accusations against Carroll, are “insane,” my source says, but because the non-existent “scandal” has been given nationwide publicity by the media, the charges have had the effect of making Ramos’s life “a living hell.” Among other things, the lieutenant governor’s assistant felt compelled to delete her personal Facebook page.

Carroll, who has been married nearly 30 years, denies the accusations made by a former state employee who was fired last year.
