In Apologizing for Global Warming Hoax, Peter Gleick Blames His Victims

The Heartland Institute was vicitimized by global warming fanatics who published stolen documents and at least one forged document in their attempts to portray the Institute as dishonest.

One of the central figures in this criminal hoax was Peter Gleick of the Pacific Institute, who uses the Huffington Post to offer an excuse:

My judgment was blinded by my frustration with the ongoing efforts — often anonymous, well-funded, and coordinated — to attack climate science and scientists and prevent this debate, and by the lack of transparency of the organizations involved. Nevertheless I deeply regret my own actions in this case. I offer my personal apologies to all those affected.

“It’s not my fault!” The end justify the means: The alleged evil of their opponents excuses any shoddy smear Gleick and his allies may perpetrate against them. And despite their admitted amorality, they wonder why we doubt their claims to “science”?

Permit a brief digression: For the past few weeks, my bedtime reading has been Robert Service’s Trotsky: A Biography. One of the last major works that Trotsky published was Their Morality and Ours: The Moralists and Sycophants Against Marxism. This was the exiled Bolshevik’s defense of revolutionary ruthlessness, in which he declared that the proletariat “must be completely free from the fictions of religion, ‘democracy’ and transcendental morality — the spiritual chains forged by the enemy.”

Think about that for a moment, and then remember that within two years of publishing that booklet, Trotsky got an ice-ax in the skull from KGB assassin Ramon Mercader, an agent of Stalin who was, needless to say, “completely free from the fictions of religion,” etc.

Once you begin to believe that the success of the Cause justifies deceit and theft, how long until you begin making excuses for other crimes committed on behalf of the Cause? I do not accuse Peter Gleick and his fellow fanatics of any Stalinist ambitions, but when we see them engaged in Stalinist methods — publishing forged documents to smear their critics — aren’t we justified in suspecting that they are not otherwise honest?

Because Mitt Is Just Too Cool

Why is the low pressure of the Romney vacuum continuing to bolster Santorum?

Romney, for reasons that continue to remain a mystery to me, appears to be following a strategy of actively avoiding the Tea Party movement. To my knowledge, he has never addressed an actual tea party rally or local tea party group. In December, he spoke on the phone at a tea party tele-town hall with other Presidential candidates, but that appears to be the extent of his direct communication with the Tea Party movement.
This remoteness–an odd strategy to keep Romney in a “bubble” away from potential supporters–seems to permeate his campaign. In Ohio last week, for instance, Attorney General Mike DeWine withdrew his endorsement of Romney and endorsed Santorum. “He doesn’t write, he doesn’t call,” DeWine said of Romney.
Gingrich, who has a long and twisted history with the movement, has, until recently spoken at numerous tea party rallies, but has never really actually modified his policies according to communications he’s received at these rallies, at least as far as I can tell. And where Santorum appears friendly, upbeat, and approachable, Gingrich appears a bitter, scowling, intellectual elitist. Santorum is blue collar, Gingrich is academic cap and gown.

Because Mitt is an elite, Ruling Class, Progressive tool. Those who support Mitt may also be of that ilk, too silly to notice, or, I don’t know, genuinely like the guy. I guess it’s possible to like Mitt, judging by the great-looking family.

But would George Washington, who sucked it up with the troops in the field, be impressed with Sir Mitt of Romney? Maybe a little moreso than GW would be with Barack Obama, but I submit that neither Mitt nor Barack’s commitment to liberty and the notion of every American having an equal stake in the new nation would impress the first President.

In defense of Mitt, hanging out with Tea Partiers and waving a Gadsden flag is one thing Romney has not tried to fake. Santorum got spanked in an election and, seemingly, used the free time to get out there, mingle, and re-connect with the electorate. That disarming sweater-vest of Rick’s gets him out there with the people in ways that blue jeans and rolled-up sleeves have not for Mitt.  Perhaps Mitt’s every hair follicle and syllable are too calculated. Perhaps the charade of being above the fray, while the SuperPAC artillery makes dust out of the pebbles of the opponents is looking just a tad fake.

Should Romney carry the GOP nomination, the Tea Party effort will shift to supporting state and local candidates. I owe the country more in the struggle against another Ruling Class turkey, ‘Gentleman’ Jim Moran, than I do supporting Mitt. Sure, I’d vote for Romney, but heres the bottom line: the Tea Parties will mirror Romney’s enthusiasm for them if Mitt is the nominee.

Listen To Jackson, Not SNL, On BHO

This was the butt-end of SNL on 18 February, and what and obsequious act of drool-bucketry we have, as a talk show host pretends to reinforce with two guests that there is no act that #OccupyResoluteDesk could do which is so heinous that any of the three would fail to prostrate themselves before BHO in the voting booth.

The more subtly evil point of SNL’s propaganda is that absolutely none of the points brought up pertain to policy; they are all personal. Yeah, it’s comedy, you say. However, training voters not to think about policy when considering politicians is just false. If policy is so irrelevant, we should have elected Kim Kardashian. Notwithstanding the Armenian Genocide, we did.
One would be tempted toward despair if not for courageous Americans like Kevin Jackson’s reminder that not everyone in the country lives on an intellectual plantation:

I won’t belabor the point that slaver was the beginning of black victimization, because that’s obvious. For almost a century Democrats raped blacks literally and figuratively.
However, there was a time around the 1950’s when the Democrats were losing the battle to control black people. Black people were building and growing businesses. We had strong families, and education and character were stressed.
Democrats did all they could to demoralize blacks, with all sorts of onerous rules and laws, even corralling black people into certain urban areas. . .It didn’t work. Back then, black people were strong of body and mind, as fit as Navy SEALs. We relied on our belief in God, and that right would conquer might. We believed in excellence.
Democrats found out that the black “cities within cities: were thriving. Business was booming, as blacks had to be self-sufficient. Some people say this was an unexpected benefit of Jim Crow.
Black kids today might find it hard to believe that there was a time when blacks owned the businesses in the neighborhoosds where we lived, which at the time were called “the black side of town.” Today the black sides of towns are entire cities like Detroit, Compton, Philadelphia and Newark.

Jackson, like Alfonzo Rachel, is somebody who has realized there is dignity, an audience, and a chance to preserve the future to be found in telling the truth. God bless these men.

At least if you’re part of “Occupy Wall Street”:

This was just another gentle Occupier with a heart of gold enjoying some hot, consensual man-on-teen action. He totally tapped that 14-year-old ass. High fives all around!

That’s actually Jenn Taylor’s summary of Olbermann’s evident attitude: In attempting to “debunk” reports of rapes at Occupy encampments, KO insisted that a 14-year-old engaged in consensual sex with a 23-year-old convicted sex offender, Richard Armstrong.

Lee Stranahan thoroughly fisks Olby’s “debunking.”

You may be thinking to yourself: “Hmmm, why would a sex offender be involved in a protest movement about ‘economic injustice’? What’s the deal? What’s the shared interest there?”

Answer: The sense of aggrieved victimhood common to sociopathic personalities, as I explained in November:

Celebrations of sociopathic tendencies — and demonizing wealth is sociopathic — tend to attract maladjusted deviants.

Have you ever seen the movie Repo Man? There’s a scene where a punk tries to rob a convenience store, is fatally shot, and his dying words are, “I blame society.”

In those three words, the punk enscapsulates the entire worldview of the sociopath: His problems are always somebody else’s fault.

A contemptuous lawlessness, a lack of empathy, an outrageous sense of selfish entitlement, the tendency to demonize authority figures and to see the “System” as inherently unjust — these are traits of the sociopath, and it is impossible to look soberly at the Occupy movement without recognizing it as a sort of sociopathic street carnival.

The movement naturally attracts criminals, because of its own essentially criminal ideology.

The 23-year-old sex offender Richard Armstrong, rather than having learned any lesson from his prior conviction, evidently came to the Occupy Dallas encampment looking for an opportunity to re-offend, and found it. On behalf of the two-time sex offender, Keith Olbermann therefore says: “I blame society!”

. . . it turned into pneumonia, and therefore I took alarm when I got a runny nose today. So I went to bed, figuring that the strain of coping with Post-CPAC Bloggers Gone Crazy Week (as I’ve begun to describe it) might be undermining my physical well-being.

However, my wife surprised me this afternoon by bringing home a chocolate milkshake for her ailing hubby. Getting up out of bed long enough to drink that, I felt obliged to do a quick post to explain why I might be mostly offline for a while. Some notes before I go back to bed:

Poll Proves Mitt’s Mud Gun Works?

The report that Mitt Romney has cut Rick Santorum’s lead from 15 points to 4 points in Michigan goes to show what can be accomplished with a multimillion-dollar attack-ad campaign, especially when those attacks are assisted by Mitt’s friends in the liberal media.

However, as Santorum himself has often pointed out during his speeches, Romney won’t have either of those advantages — a bigger campaign fund or a more friendly media — when it comes time to face Barack Obama.

Let’s hope Republican primary voters in Michigan and elsewhere have the intelligence to understand which of these two candidates is the GOP’s best chance in November. Because Mitt ain’t it.
