Much Needed Palate Cleanser From Marco Rubio

Remind me again why this guy hasn’t been press-ganged into running for POTUS? Rubio sports more authenticity in a short speech than the entirety of the Mitt Romney cannon:
Oh yeah: some Ruling Class Overlord hasn’t yet decided it’s Rubio’s ‘turn’, or something.

Like an Earthquake in Vanuatu: Michelle Malkin Endorses Rick Santorum!
Posted on | January 30, 2012 | 29 Comments
NAPLES, Fla.
Woke up about 10:30 this morning expecting to put together a quick aggregation of the morning news. Then I saw Michelle Malkin’s endorsement of Rick Santorum.
All bets are off. Forget everything else — this is freaking HUGE!
UPDATE: I’m about to go get breakfast, but before that, a few more bits of news:
- Bella Santorum has recovered from pneumonia.
- Rick Santorum is getting a head start on the rest of the field by campaigning today in Missouri and Minnesota, and will have an event Tuesday night in Las Vegas, where the caucuses are Saturday.
- Jennifer Rubin is already picking running mates for Mitt Romney — and measuring for new drapes in the Oval Office, no doubt.
Oh, and one more thing: My American Spectator column today.
UPDATE II: Another endorsement for Rick Santorum at American Thinker. Remember: Every time a blogger endorses Rick Santorum, an angel gets his wings.

- 7:30pm CT: Senator Santorum will host a town hall meeting in Luverne, MN.

Vessels For Altering The American Political Course

When the history of the American recovery is written, Ladd Ehlinger will certainly have a paragraph or five, given his highly refined anti-establishment antics.
Leapfrogging the traditional approach to political ads is Turn This Ship Around, which is a basic ad memorable for its images of children as galley slaves of a piratical state. TTSA is a ‘reduce, reuse, recycle‘ approach, most lately in support of Brian K. Hill, running for Senate in Connecticut.
“Some establishment pundits say Republicans shouldn’t go after Obama because he has personal favorability in some polls,” says Brad Marston, co-founder of the political strategy firm FourTier Strategies, one of the participating vendors in the concept. “Hogwash. Our job is to change the polls, not cower in fear from them. Don’t just take a poll and then throw up your hands. Polling is just part of the initial research. Then you devise a strategy to win.”
“This is what the RNC, NRCC, and the NRSC should be doing,” said Furniss. “They should be experimenting, helping to figure out ways for their candidates to advertise more cost-effectively against Obama and George Soros and other rich Democrats.”
“Why aren’t the guys in D.C. offering asymmetrical advertising for their candidates?” asked Ehlinger. “Most GOP marketers couldn’t promote their way out of a wet paper bag.”
I think it’s worse. Judging by the behavior, the senior GOP weenies would rather run aground on a cruise liner captained by a derelict Italian than risk sailing to victory with Tea Partiers. Why? Because GOP weenies, like any specimen of homo bureaucratus fear risk, and know that the Democrats will give them a bowl to lick if they accept defeat with minimal fuss.
Cynthia Yockey Compiles the Headlines (With Gratuituous Cheesecake, Too)

NAPLES, Fla.
A couple days ago, on my drive from Jacksonville to Orlando, Cynthia Yockey and I had a phone conversation that eventually turned to the question of what she could do in the way of revenue enhancement.
“Look, give me a good daily headline aggregation of campaign news,” I said. “With all this running around and deadlines and stuff, I’m falling way behind on the basic political news. I’d be happy to outsource the aggregation, so to speak, and tell people to hit your tip jar for it. Just be sure and include a vintage pin-up girl in every post.”
So she did, and features Mary Tyler Moore in her headline aggregation today. If you like brunettes with sunny smiles — and hey, I married one — you gotta love MTM. Because she’s got spunk!
You’ve just seen a three-minute enactment of what the interview process would look like if I ran the newsroom. Except that, unlike Lou Grant, I actually like spunk.
Cynthia Yockey’s got spunk, and you should hit her tip jar.

Well edited contempt for #OccupyResoluteDesk and his crap-tacular ideas.
Was the AMT really intended to go after “certain taxpayers“, or is it intended as a bomb to go off and gradually screw increasing numbers of people as the Federal Reserve inflates more people into the crosshairs?

Charlotte Bergmann Is Running For Congress In Tennessee’s Most Racist, Misogynist Corner
Posted on | January 29, 2012 | 30 Comments

Charlotte Bergmann is one courageous lady. Wikipedia notes Tennessee’s 9th district is:
It is one of the safest seats in the nation for the Democratic Party, and has not been seriously contested by a Republican in its current configuration. Most[who?] political observers consider the 9th the most Democratic district in the state. Generally, the 9th is one of two seats in Tennessee that are not seriously contested by Republicans (the other being the 5th district).
How safe? It’s sufficiently safe that a black woman can put up a billboard like this:
and receive a vicious browbeating like this:Go ahead: disagree with people running for office. But what’s this
“I’m scared that some of your whiteness may rub off on me.”
Wasn’t BHO elected to get us past that sort of talk? Maybe Steve Cohen can intervene and, you know, restore a little civility to the tone.
