SJW Snowflakes Melting Down Again

Posted on | July 1, 2022 | 1 Comment

Before getting to our main topic here, let me call the reader’s attention to one seemingly minor detail about that photo. See the green sign? See the fine print at the bottom? “RiseUp4AbortionRights-dot-org”? That’s a front group for the Revolutionary Communist Party, a Maoist cult founded by Bob Avakian in Berkeley decades ago, the result of a split in the radical Left during the Nixon years. So who is calling for “ABORTION ON DEMAND & WITHOUT APOLOGY”? Commies, that’s who.

Commies want to kill your baby. Commies want to make baby killing a central premise of their political platform. But at least the RCP is honest about being Commies, whereas Democrats . . .

Well, if Democrats couldn’t lie, they’d have nothing to say at all. But because they control the major institutions of education, journalism and entertainment, Democrats are able to create an echo chamber effect where people are bombarded with propaganda from all directions, so that it takes a strong mind to resist believing Democratic myths like the “constitutional right” to abortion as the essence of womanhood.

And so we see headlines like this:

‘It’s Scary’: Students Fear Going
to College in Red States After Roe

I won’t bother excerpting much of this, as readers can click and find their own favorite idiocies in that Vice article. One that I found particularly amusing is the lead anecdote about Sasha Rosenfeld from New Jersey, who is afraid about attending Oberlin College (!!!) because it sits in the red state of Ohio. Oh, the Fear and Loathing:

Committed to attending Oberlin in the fall, Rosenfeld started talking to friends about what she would do if she needed an abortion and couldn’t access care at college. One of her friends who lives 300 miles away in Chicago offered to pick her up and drive her out of the state if she ever needed the procedure.
“If I got pregnant — no question about it — at this point in my life, I would take Plan B [or] get an abortion,” she said.

Permit me to assert that the chances of Sasha Rosenfeld accidentally getting pregnant are very close to zero, but not for the reason you might expect. No, she’s not a fat purple-haired non-binary blob, like some of the pro-abortion militants you’ve seen bemoaning the end of Roe. Miss Rosenfeld is actually quite lovely — a slender brunette with a sunny smile who ran on her high school cross-country team in Maplewood, New Jersey. The reason that Miss Rosenfeld is very unlikely to suffer an unexpected pregnancy is because she is a radical feminist whose mother is the lesbian wife of left-wing radio personality Nancy Solomon.

Miss Rosenfeld calls herself “queerspawn,” which is to say she is what folks of my generation might have called a “turkey baster” baby. Miss Rosenfeld’s existence is a sort of protest against heterosexuality, and I’m sure she would never want to disappoint her mothers by expressing anything except vehement disgust toward males. And yet, despite her lifelong anti-heterosexual indoctrination as “queerspawn,” Miss Rosenfeld is gripped with fear about the (entirely hypothetical) prospect of needing an abortion as a consequence of a (preposterously far-fetched) scenario in which she somehow conceived a child through what some of us still quaintly think of as the normal method of impregnation.

Just suppose — since Miss Rosenfeld seems willing to indulge in wild speculation — that she actually were capable of feeling sexual attraction toward a male. As I say, this is entirely speculative, as nothing in her biography or published writing hints at any heterosexual inclination. Yet if she did harbor such a desire, what are the chances she could find a heterosexual male at Oberlin willing to do the deed with her?

Call me old-fashioned, but I think one proxy for the virility of a college’s male student body is the success of their football team, and by this measure, Oberlin is a pathetic joke. Last season, their football team posted a 1-9 record, getting blown away by such gridiron powerhouses as Ohio Wesleyan (62-6), Denison (59-12) and DePauw (66-13). Oberlin’s football team is the laughingstock of a very weak Division III conference. So if it’s swaggering masculinity you’re looking for, you’re not going to find much of it at Oberlin. Even if Miss Rosenfeld were interested in heterosexual coupling (which, as I say, is mere hypothetical speculation), she probably wouldn’t have much luck at such a testosterone-deficient institution as Oberlin College. Yet the imaginary danger terrifies her.

“It’s misogyny in our world that categorizes
feminism, and feminists, as undesirable.”

Sasha Rosenfeld

Undesirable to whom, Miss Rosenfeld? But probably no one in the echo chamber where you have been raised as “queerspawn” ever asked such a question, or was prepared to explain why this might be relevant, and certainly your worldview won’t be challenged at Oberlin. The chances of you encountering a Republican at Oberlin are not much higher than your chances of becoming pregnant which, as I say, are very close to zero. Yet how could Democrats maintain their ironclad grip on your mind without filling your pretty little head with absurd fears? So you’ll likely go on protesting on behalf of the “right” to abortion, even though the likelihood of you ever needing to exercise this “right” is infinitesimally small.

When this particular tempest in a teapot dissipates — when all the pro-choice sky-is-falling noise proves to be mistaken, and life in America goes on just fine despite the recent Supreme Court ruling — I wonder if some people will wise up to the scam by which they’ve been hustled? Probably not many. True Believers are seldom disillusioned by mere facts.

Like an Old REO Speedwagon Song

Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another . . .

The “bombshell” surprise witness for Tuesday’s J6 show trial turned out to be a girl who was just barely out of college and working as an aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows at the time of the events about which she testified. Cassidy Hutchinson claimed to have “heard it from a friend,” etc., that President Trump was so completely out of control during the Capitol riot that he attacked a Secret Service agent and attempted to grab the steering wheel from the driver of the limousine, insisting that they drive him to the Capitol instead of the White House.

Nobody on the J6 Committee asked Secret Service to corroborate Hutchinson’s account. In fact, there is zero corroboration of her tale. Which is not to say that it has been proven false, exactly, and I suppose it is within the realm of possibility that (a) Hutchinson’s testimony will eventually be corroborated and (b) monkeys will fly out of my butt.

But I know the neighborhood
And talk is cheaper when the story is good
And the tales grow taller on down the line.

Like the song said.

Sgt. McCain: Behind Enemy Lines

Posted on | June 29, 2022 | Comments Off on Sgt. McCain: Behind Enemy Lines

My Army son just survived a mission in hostile territory. He has been assigned to the newly revived 11th Airborne Division, based in Alaska, which will specialize in arctic combat. Just in case there is some country in a northern area (perhaps on the other side of the Bering Strait) that wants trouble, if you get my drift. So what Bob and his family did was, they sold their house in Georgia, bought a big camper trailer, and drove 5,000 miles to Alaska which, if you look at a map, means they had to cross over that most dangerous of all our enemies, Canada.

I don’t want to argue with anyone foolish enough to think that Canada is our “ally.” Our failure to conquer Canada when we had the chance, during the War of 1812, is a stain of dishonor on our national history. And now, as might have been expected, Canada has come under the control of a totalitarian madman named Justin Trudeau who, like all totalitarians everywhere, is seeking to disarm the civilian population.

The civilian population of Canada is very nice, my son said, and I warned him not to be lulled into a false sense of safety while he and his family (and their cat) traversed the wilderness of British Columbia and the Yukon. Everybody knows (or should know) that behind that mask of Canadian “niceness” lurks a dangerous ideology of anti-American hatred that supports the Trudeau regime. What is the national purpose of Canada, after all? Why does it even exist, except to be Not America?

Canada is basically like Iran. They hate us for our freedom.

Anyway, I’m sure all my readers share my Fear and Loathing of the Northern Menace, but Bob courageously endured several days traveling across Canada with his wife, his daughter and their cat, so he probably deserves some kind of medal. You could call it a “reconnaissance mission,” I suppose, and basically write it up like a Tom Clancy novel, except with lots of moose and elk and buffalo instead of terrorists.

Staff Sergeant McCain will soon become Sergeant First Class McCain, and will lead a platoon in the 11th Airborne. Speaking of which . . .

Every branch of the military is struggling to make its 2022 recruiting goals, officials say
Every branch of the U.S. military is struggling to meet its fiscal year 2022 recruiting goals, say multiple U.S. military and defense officials, and numbers obtained by NBC News show both a record low percentage of young Americans eligible to serve and an even tinier fraction willing to consider it.
The officials said the Pentagon’s top leaders are now scrambling for ways to find new recruits to fill out the ranks of the all-volunteer force. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks consider the shortfall a serious issue, said the officials, and have been meeting on it frequently with other leaders.
“This is the start of a long drought for military recruiting,” said Ret. Lt. Gen. Thomas Spoehr of the Heritage Foundation, a think tank. He said the military has not had such a hard time signing recruits since 1973, the year the U.S. left Vietnam and the draft officially ended. Spoehr said he does not believe a revival of the draft is imminent, but “2022 is the year we question the sustainability of the all-volunteer force.”
The pool of those eligible to join the military continues to shrink, with more young men and women than ever disqualified for obesity, drug use or criminal records. Last month, Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville testified before Congress that only 23% of Americans ages 17-24 are qualified to serve without a waiver to join, down from 29% in recent years.
An internal Defense Department survey obtained by NBC News found that only 9% of those young Americans eligible to serve in the military had any inclination to do so, the lowest number since 2007.
The survey sheds light on how both Americans’ view of the military and the growing civilian-military divide may also be factors in slumping recruitment, and how public attitudes could cause recruiting struggles for years to come.

Is anyone really surprised by this? Fifteen years ago, when today’s recruits were toddlers, Democrats had enthusiastically embraced an anti-military, anti-patriotic agenda to encourage (and exploit for political gain) public backlash against the Iraq War. When our kids were little, the boys always got G.I. Joe for Christmas, but after about 2006, stores stopped stocking G.I. Joe. Why do you think that happened? Why did military toys disappear from stores? Isn’t it because of the anti-military agenda that the Democratic Party encouraged? And if boys don’t grow up playing soldier . . . Well, we know what happens to boys like that.

Having raised a soldier — who completed Best Ranger competition twice, and even survived a week in Canada — I should be credited with knowing a thing or two about what it takes to produce top military personnel.

First, and most obviously, boys ought to be encouraged to go outside and play. You might think this would be a no-brainer, but apparently not all parents understand the vital importance of playing outdoors. Recruiters will tell you that they have the best success in small towns in more rural parts of the country, simply because those are the kinds of places where parents let their boys run around out in the woods. The future soldier is likely to be fond of camping, hiking, hunting and fishing — the hearty outdoor life — and you’re not going to find many boys like that in the city.

Second, athletic participation should be encouraged. Except for a year or two of soccer, Bob wasn’t an extraordinary athlete as a kid, but he was raised up as a football fan — Roll, Tide! — and there was at least the usual amount of our boys running around throwing the ball, etc. As a teenager, he went through a bit of pumping iron and at one point, he and a buddy had a big punching bag in the basement that they worked out on. Physical fitness counts for a lot in being a soldier, and athletic participation helps encourage that. None of my kids are part of the “obesity epidemic.”

Third, a family military tradition matters. My own family has produced soldiers going back at least as far as the American Revolution. My dad was an Army staff sergeant in World War II and my brother was in the 101st Airborne. Two of my wife’s brothers were in the military, including one who did tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, and her youngest sister’s husband was an Army tanker. So my sons had four uncles with military backgrounds, and Bob joining the Army was thus part of a family tradition. Recruiters know this, too, which is why so many of our troops come from families with similar traditions.

Finally, a future soldier should be exposed to a patriotic culture that teaches heroic values. Kids who are taught to love their country are more likely to become soldiers, especially if they are exposed to movies and TV shows that venerate military heroism. When Bob and his twin brother Jim were nine years old, I took them to see Black Hawk Down. Bob now says no nine-year-old should see that movie and, yeah, maybe it’s a bit intense for young children, but that movie and others like it — The Patriot, for example — express patriotic and heroic values.

Notice that I speak of raising boys when I speak of raising soldiers. That’s because the fantasy of a “gender neutral” military is an anti-American political project backed by the worst people in the world. They promoted the idea of women in combat as a way of making our military completely ineffective. They don’t want America to win wars, so they encourage every bit of “woke” nonsense as a means of destroying combat effectiveness.

My Army son, of course, cannot be blamed for his father’s blunt expressions of fact. The sergeant has no opinions whatsoever. He is a soldier who follows orders, and if the Army had wanted him to have opinions, they would have issued them to him. So if his commanding officer were to say, “Gee, McCain, your old man sure hates Canadians,” Bob’s reply would probably be, “That is a fact, sir.”

A good soldier is a smart soldier, you see. HOOAH!

Netflix Cancels LGBTQ-Themed Cartoon

Posted on | June 28, 2022 | Comments Off on Netflix Cancels LGBTQ-Themed Cartoon

Why is Netflix such a cesspool of homophobia?

Just when you thought Netflix’s latest cancelation spree was over, another original show won’t be getting a second season. Although, in this case, it’s not a huge surprise that this particular show has received the axe after a fairly underwhelming debut run.
The canceled show in question is called Q-Force, an adult animated comedy that hit Netflix back in September 2021. The show’s first 10 episodes dropped concurrently, and What’s On Netflix discovered that these episodes will comprise the show’s complete run.
Q-Force’s fate has actually been known for a while now. Matt Rogers, one of the show’s writers and voice actors, revealed that “it did not get a second season” on the Attitudes! podcast back in May.
Q-Force is an adult animated comedy that focuses on a group of LGBTQ+ superspies, known as Queer Force, who are looking to prove themselves to the American Intelligence Agency (AIA) that undervalues them.
The group is led by Steve Maryweather, nicknamed Agent Mary (voiced by Sean Hayes), who was once one of the AIA’s hottest young prospects before he came out as gay and was subsequently ostracized by his colleagues. Now he leads Q-Force alongside Twink (Rogers), a French Canadian and “Master of Drag”, Deb (Wanda Sykes), a lesbian mechanic, and Stat (Patti Harrison), a transgender hacker.
The show sees the team not only fight against national security threats but also workplace discrimination and the fact AIA Director Dirk Chunley (Gary Cole) has taken a disliking to the plucky underdogs.

“Plucky underdogs”! Also “stunning” and “brave,” I’m sure.

Netflix is losing subscribers, and recently announced it was laying off 300 employees after laying off 150 in May. Guess the “LGBTQ+ superspies” weren’t very popular with the customers who pay the bills.

Gosh, if only there were a simple catchy phrase to summarize this.
